Description: A petite, pixie-like woman with short, mahogany brown hair framing a narrow face, she stands a few inches over five feet tall. Thin brows arch over grey-blue eyes, her skin is pale, and she carries herself with a quick, agile sort of grace that speaks to an athletic background. Her features are expressive, particularly her lips, which are often curved into a small smile, as though she knows something others do not.

Personality: Adventurous, friendly, and curious, Chiara is more than happy to try something just for the experience. Likewise, she's equally happy to listen to a good yarn. While the less charitable would call her indecisive or easily bored, should something capture her interest she can be a hard worker, and has been gifted with a sharp mind and wit.

Background: Born to a family of merchant sailors in Nilanza, Chiara is the middle child of three; her parents, Marcel and Ilena, were much of the opinion that their children should all be involved in the family business with the goal of eventually succeeding them, but perhaps unsurprisingly Chiara begged to differ, having not properly been consulted in the matter prior to her birth. While both her older sister, Denora, and the youngest, Linette, have been more than happy to follow in the footsteps of their parents, Chiara has spent as much as time investigating the destinations of those goods shipped as the shipping process itself, occasionally disappearing mid-trip, much to the exasperation of her family - perhaps all the more so because she is actually quite competent at her trade.

Surprising absolutely no one, the restless Chiara ultimately left the confines of what protection her family could give her and has spent the past few years traveling; due to such she has certainly seen her share of good and bad. Thankfully, either through sheer luck or quick thinking, she's managed to extricate herself from the worst of those situations, leaving her with an appreciation for what could have been, but not resulting any obvious dampening effect on her enthusiasm.

With the Marquessa having made it known that she is looking for native Nilanzans to help support the growing House Malespero - and perhaps due to a little bit of trouble with the locals in the most recent port she'd been carousing in - Chiara has made her way to Arx to settle there, at least for a short while.
