Description: She stands at least a hand taller than most women, though bears that height with pride and strength. Hers is a figure that might be lissome, with fragile bone-structure and yet a frame all lean muscle tapered into perfect curves. Her features are delicate but not fragile, a straight nose and plump, expressive lips claim the gaze easily. High cheekbones betray noble lineage, and highlight the well-sculpted bone structure of her entire face. A fringe of dark lashes frame eyes that seem to shift in color, evoking visions of the southern seas. Aquamarine perhaps, they are soft blue in some lights and sun-washed green in others. Her hair is blonde, closer to golden than pale, though shifts in the light can make it more moonbeam than sunbeam. All in all, the woman presents herself with poise and confidence far higher than her station, save for the mischievous way those sea-green eyes can sparkle, and the shared mirth in the best of her smiles.

Personality: Lanei is generally described by those who know her well or work with her often as warm, funny, and even generous. She is certainly polite to the average citizen she comes across as one would expect of a shrewd businesswoman. However she comes with darker, more complicated facets. Deep beneath the general decorum of the woman runs a core sharp as steel and just as vicious to those who she deems worthy of it. Her temper is usually kept in check but when it is not it rages as hot as any fire, shakes as suddenly as any storm. She has a deep enthusiasm for life even when it sends trials her way. She loves to yearn, to long, to create, to inspire, to love, and when able to bask in the decadent side of life. She is, by anyone's estimation, very focused on her dreams.

Background: Lanei either has no last name or does not choose to recall it, for she has introduced herself for more than a decade as 'Lanei' and nothing more upon making new acquaintances. Tales of her childhood run spotty, it appears that she does have siblings, two brothers and one sister, and she will occasionally tell a story or anecdote from childhood that indicates great fondness for them. Details regarding her parents are harder to glean. By some accounts her mother died when she was an infant and she and her siblings were raised by her father alone...by other accounts it was an aunt or cousin that took them in and their father was not part of their lives either. It's known that she was born to the merchant class, her family comfortable enough to make ends meet but never terribly wealthy. It is known, or implied at least, that the sister she oft references ended up training as a courtier, though it is never clear where. Lanei herself grew up in the Crownlands, and was apprenticed to a master tailor who was favored by the nobility by the age of 15. As time went on she trained with him further and then traveled through Arvum to complete this education, working for a time nearly everywhere and thus able to create an incredibly versatile range of styles. As she continued to train she developed a great interest in jewels and jewelry as well once exposed to them, and slowly but surely was able to add more metalwork to her repertoire. Becoming renowned for her gifts at creating art that ought be worn is her greatest known goal, and one she works tirelessly towards.
