Description: Striking; pale sea foam eyes shine against smooth, swarthy skin like an oasis in parched desert, a spark of life amidst the withering sands. His smile is broad and bright, a charming thing tainted by the fact that though he is a beautiful man, he is very, very aware of it. His nose is narrow and straight, his features refined and angular, his jaw rugged and dusted by dark stubble that gives him a roguish appeal, carefully tended to give him the illusion that he doesn't need to try to be this spectacular. That's just how it is. His hair is a hectic mane of warm, wild black waves at the top, and shaved down at the sides in some strange mix that can only be described as casually militaristic. He decorates himself often in radiant golds, and the brightest of ember-kissed gems as though the sun itself was draped about him like a mantle glittering at peaceful seaside shores.
Tall and broad without sacrificing the grace of sleek lines and artful motion, he is a battle ready sort that paints an imposing silhouette when the need for intimidation arises. His gait has the idle sway of a man that has spent more than a few years of his life on a boat, and he never seems to be in a terrible hurry to get anywhere. After all, when you're this great, the battle will wait.
Personality: Vain, self-centered, perpetually bored. This Eurus seems to enjoy nothing better than to bask and be left enough alone. While not above going to galas and balls, his main interest seems to be watching the Champions and the odd Duels that occur in public.
His activity only seems to peak when near naval vessels or the odd shopping-spree, where he has found ample time to divulge in a hobby outside of boats or warfare -- clothing. With the changes of seasons so different than to what he was accustomed too comes new fashions, materials and styles.
Background: The politics of Eurus are a difficult thing for many to comprehend, and even harder to truly understand -- this is a thing that Ciaphas shares with the majority of the Compact, despite being born a Prince of the great Dune Kingdoms and raised with the hopes that he might one day take up a diplomatic position within the Dune Emperor's court.
They would have to get used to disappointment.
He was groomed from an early age by dedicated, dutiful tutors that should have seen him be a rising star in the realm of statecraft, but he found these things terribly dull. His lack of focus would be of terrible frustration for those set to instruct him, and despite their determined efforts, he would never be as they wished him to be. Not the way they wanted, anyway.
Instead, his attentions shifted toward the intricate dance of warfare -- a brutal warrior, with the ability to direct in open conflicts as a stalwart commander. Certainly, this was not what his parents had envisioned when they sent him away as a ward of Ahj'on, but the worth of such abilities were not lost to them, nor his watchers.
He spent many years in the fields of battle, disappearing from the public eye for sometimes years at a time, with none seeming able to figure out where he had gone, until he would miraculously appear again with nary a story to be told, or an explaination to be given. There he would be, proclaimed victorious in the wake of wanting details, until he would be gone again.
Until, of course, he returned one of these times and was told that a political marriage had been arranged, and he was to be wed to some lesser noble of Ischia in order to broker some sort of non-aggression pact that would somehow benefit them. He still does not understand why it was necessary, but he is a man that has been raised to follow orders ... even if he doesn't carry out the tasks set before him in the fashion they might enjoy.
To this day, he does not know why he is wed, only that he is. And now? Now he's here, in the Compact, disgruntled and confused, but still doing his duty.
