Description: Rhys has chaotic brown hair. While short it juts out in several general directions, especially during the weeks when he is in need of a haircut. His chestnut colored eyebrows are thin and nearly straight, hung above his pale blue eyes. His nose is straight, but ordinary, and his lower lip is full while his upper one thin. Brown facial hair covers both his chin and above his lip in a haphazard and unkempt manner. He is tall, thin, and lithe looking.
Personality: Rhys Llywelyn is a man who loves the freedom of life on the road and, likewise, the freedom that exploring brings him. He is a man who thrives on living without the need for others to rely upon. That being said, he is not a loner or adverse to social interaction, in fact the opposite. He is thought of as friendly in social situations and honorable by those he works for.
Background: The Llywelyn family are commoners with a long line of expertise out in the wilderness. Ioan, Rhys' father, taught the young boy how to survive: how to hunt, to trap, to move silently, to shoot, to clean his prey, and how to live amongst the animals.
From an early age, the eldest Llywelyn boy took those skills and followed his father's lead. At times they worked as scouts and explorers for the Leahy family, especially in time of conflict. In down times they lived on the land or traded pelts or game for silver. He came to love being in nature, the hunt, and the time after the hunt at the tavern with his friends.
Then came his first battle. Caught by shavs a little too far from the forests near Ashford Keep. Surrounded on all sides and unable to get back to his comrades, he was forced to sneak and shoot his way back to warn the platoon of an incoming attack. The following victory gained Rhys respect from his peers and superiors.
