Lady Claudia Malespero
Always honor your promises.
Description: A whole lot wrapped up in a neat little package. She's got the carefully cultivated look of someone that likes the finer things in life, has manners, might even fancy herself as someone that eventually sets trends. But there is a steel that hides beneath the silk, and a nobility of self that goes deeper than clothes and jewels. Dark brown hair is kept semi-long, and always well kept in either a straight fall down her back or carefully styled back in braids. Her dark brown eyes are wide, and might be considered doe-like, with a mouth that is designed for smiles.
Personality: There is a lot of personality tucked into a neat little package. Charming almost to a fault, she's never met someone that she hasn't attempted to charm, and if the first effort doesn't work that just means that she'll try harder the second time. It could be argued that she never takes a thing in the world seriously, but the reality is that when it comes to business she is nothing but serious even if it might be hidden beneath a friendly demeanor. Every aspect of her dealings with others are conducted by a strict code of behavior, and she is always true to her word. Even if that is detrimental to her own wants and needs.
Background: There are rules to the way the world works, or there should be rules to the way the world works. Perhaps those rules, that clearly outlined code of behavior, is sometimes more obscure than at other times.
It might just be because of the randomness of things, the way the world as you know it skews hard to the left when you expected it to veer gently right that Claudia has given herself a very strict code of conduct. Honor your deals, be honest in your deals with others, don't take the proverbial dump where you live. There are more, of course, little things that she's been developing since she was a child watching her father run a small shipping empire. Empire being a rather loose term, and more something fueled by the imagination of a child than the reality of being an adult. Claudia was the youngest born to a very minor noble house that over saw some of the trading done around Nilanza, and they made good profits.
Many would argue that trading would be something beneath the nobility, and they might be right. As it was, Claudia's family really acted as backers to others, never taking direct part in the trading, technically. From a young age she learned how to run things, not because she was expected to take over the house, but her father was a practical man, and he felt that everyone should learn to contribute. So as soon as she was old enough she was put on the ships and taught to sail, read the wind and sky, navigate by the stars, how to speak to those in other ports, to find the best deal. She built up a reputation of being able to find what people wanted, difficult, rare, expensive goods....none of that mattered. She'd always go the extra mile to make sure that the deal was honored.
When House Argento fell, she wasn't home in Nilanza, and in fact, she decided that it might be best to make herself scarce. She knew what happened to her family, and that it all crumbled, that her father died of a broken heart after her mother was killed. But recently she's heard that it might be safe to come home, and take up a place among House Malespero, which is what she's done.
