Lord Sen Laveer
It is important to draw wisdom from different places. If you take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale.
Description: Tightly muscled and inclined to constant movement, it is evident at a glance that Sen has spent his life honing himself into a warrior, though not for him the bulk and power of heavily armored knights. He is instead lean and graceful, and carries himself as if prepared to fling himself into a fray at any moment. This is at odds with the smiling peace in his eyes, however. To look into those rain-grey eyes is to look into a man who has found his place in the world and the simplicity of that contentment shows itself from his expression to the short, unfussy crop of his dark hair: he is not a man who needs grand flourishes to set himself apart in life.
Personality: Deep of faith and loyal to his adopted family, Sen is often calm and thoughtful with a quiet humor that is rarely biting. He is also passionate and driven, though it is a path that more often than not moves him past and around the obstacles in his life, rather than finding his way forward through force.
Background: Sen doesn't remember his parents well, vague recollections of a foreign-born mother from before the Gyre attack and the muttered curses and glances cast his way, a street waif finding occasional reprieve from the local mercy of Lagoma. He was never the strongest, quick feet his best weapon when it came to getting himself out of a tight spot. It was a number of years that he lived this way, always just a few steps from finding himself in thralldom when he wasn't avoiding some of the sharper daggers in the deep alleys. Still, even with several successful years, he was young, only into his eleventh year, and he was bound to come due.
He might have died that day, another orphaned youth falling to a hard life on the Islands, no better than a thrall. It was never clear how Tibault found him, a Crownlands Count, in town for trade reasons and only there for a few days. Found him he did, however, and he did not walk past, nor did he leave him with a mercy as might be expected of even the charitable. No, Tibault took this child with him, bringing him into his home and giving him a life and future.
Sen would grow to become the Spear of Brighthold, a good number of years since his majority spent training and traveling to further his skills and be his best for Laveer. He had only just returned home when the decision was made to go to Arx, the King's Rest a turning point for them as they moved to show their solidarity with Grayson in the tumultuous times.
