epiphanite | 50000 | gemstone | These rare stones come in several pale colors, but are almost always worked into rounded cuts. In that shape, looking into these gems reveals a milky occlusion that gives the illusion of swirling mists trapped within. |
diamondplate | 50000 | metal | An ultra tough (yet lightweight) metal from extraordinarily rare mineral deposits in Arvum, this metal can be worked into weapons and armor that provide great protection and durability. White in color. Diamondplate from Pyre is black and referred to as pyran darksteel, as a separate metal type. |
mirrorsilver | 50000 | ornaments | This rare alloy is of such a pure, clear silver color that it shines just like a mirror. Rumors are that it originated within Arx through the work of notable metalsmiths and alchemists. |
smokeweave | 50000 | textiles | A flame colored silken fabric that has a very smoky quality to it. Sometimes the smoke seeming to swirl as one moves the fabric, making every hue appear darker. It is cool to the touch. |
star iron | 100000 | ornaments | This is an extremely rare metal, only found in meteorites and other such debris that falls from the heavens. When worked, it is jet black with a satin finish that never loses its lustre. Points of light sparkle in that impossible lustre, like distant stars. It is a durable metal, but due to the overall scarcity of it, it can usually only be procured in quantities large enough for small, decorative pieces. |
platinum | 100000 | metal | Platinum. It's a bright-white kind of metal with a high shine. It is imported, and rarely enough that it isn't available for purchase. |
oakhide | 100000 | leather | A leather product created via a complex process of layering very high quality, specially treated hides and a form of metal mesh, invented by Apollo Oakwood and others with the blessing of House Keaton. |

vitrium | 100000 | ornaments | Black glass which resembles obsidian despite being clearer in the light. It's as tough, possibly tougher, than steel. Strong enough to create weaponry. It gives off a faint smell of a decaying corpse to any who get close enough for a sniff. |
ivory | 200000 | ornaments | Extremely rare ivory from tusks, either from Eurusi elephants or from the very rare Everwinter woolly mammoths. |
pyran fireweave | 300000 | textiles | A very rare and expensive silk that comes from the fallen kingdom of Pyre, across the sea to the east. This marvelous material is as light as silk, yet somehow seems to protect wearers from harm as if it were armor. Not magic, of course - that's preposterous. It simply must be some property of how the silk is woven. Typically referred to as "pyreweave" for brevity's sake, and orangey-yellow in color but can be dyed. |
alaricite | 300000 | metal | An incredibly valuable, lightweight metal that was originally used by the elves for their elaborate armor under some other name, the metal was named in honor of the queen who ended their war of aggression. Alarcite armor was never common even during their genocidal war centuries ago, and has grown more rare with time, with precious few smiths having the skill to work with the material. Opal silver in color, typically. |
shadowmeld | 330000 | leather | The origins of the material known as shadowmeld are disputed. Some say it's the skin of demons who have been largely robbed of form, leaving only an inky mass. Others claim it's a naturally occurring, albeit extremely rare substance, that simply happens to pool in deposits in areas that are extremely dangerous to those who look for it. The Church of the Pantheon takes a dim view of the substance, stopping just shy of calling the use of it blasphemous. Regardless of where it comes from, (and it seems to mostly come from the deep, deep woods and the tall, tall mountains of the Redrain lands) the incredibly valuable material can be woven into garments that cover the wearer like a second skin, lends itself into being decorated with precious stones and various minerals, and seems to invariably protect wearers more effectively than most suits of armor. Some Legates of the Church have claimed that the protective aspects of the material are infernal in nature - that wearers are being protected by demons, or other aspects of the Dark Reflection. |
pyran darksteel | 500000 | metal | An ultra tough (yet lightweight) metal from extraordinarily rare mineral deposits in Arvum, this metal can be worked into weapons and armor that provide great protection and durability. White in color. Diamondplate from Pyre is black and referred to as pyran darksteel, as a separate metal type. |
bloodwood | 500000 | wood | A mysterious substance that has a red, metallic sheen much like rubicund, but appears to be made of wood. Warm to the touch, sometimes while held it feels like it throbs, much like a vein. |
cardian steelsilk | 600000 | textiles | A very rare and expensive silk that comes from the mysterious southern kingdom of Cardia, far to the south of Arvum. This marvelous material is as light as silk, yet somehow seems to protect wearers from harm as if it were armor. Not magic, of course - that's preposterous. It simply must be some property of how the silk is woven. |
nightlace | 1000000 | textiles | Lost to the Compact in the modern era, nightlace was sometimes mistaken for umbra, as each shared the pitch black countenance, but the similarities end there. Nightlace was imbued with powerful magic, laced with arcane symbols that were swallowed by the darkness and rendered nearly invisible, save for the owner being able to detect them with touch. |
dragonweep | 2500000 | gemstone | These incredibly rare and valuable gemstones are often thought to be mythical. Although they may come in a number of different hues (but most frequently red), these crystals are always warm to the touch, and are said to possess a number of magical properties, such as bringing good fortune to those who have them. They are invariably shaped like tears, and although many scholars dismiss the idea as mere superstition, popular legend holds that they are the crystalized tears of ancient dragons. |
night hide | 3000000 | leather | A mysterious material somewhat akin to leather, but unlike the hide of any beast known to Arvum. It can apparently be made into armor both supple and yet incredibly protective. As its name suggests, night hide is black as the darkest shadow, but takes on a strange, deep blue sheen under direct lighting. |
soulforged metal | 5000000 | metal | A strange, shimmering metal that changes colors based on one's perspectives, and shimmers in the light. Warm to the touch, it causes a pleasant heat to spread through one's body when touched. |
hopestone | 10000000 | gemstone | Only a few of these are believed to exist, but the beautiful gemstone is unmistakable. A crystal that has a universe of cloudy colors, as if it contains an entire nebula in its depths, an changes whenever it's turned and catches the light. Never looking the same way twice, and warm to the touch, just looking at the stone is inspiring- few that look at the stone do not have a sensation of wondering what is truly possible, and hoping for better tomorrows. |
ambrosia | 500000000 | contraband | A sparkling liquid that changes colors when looked at, and seems to flicker with lightning. |
