Of Quirin Navegant

Posted by Turo on 06/20/17
To those within the Thrax Ward and to Arx as a whole,

My father, Quirin Navegant, was decent man. He was never rash to outbursts or hasty thinking, he was a man who knew the steps of his life before he had even walked them. There was a steady patience in the man that I admired, even if he and I never agreed on everything. I had never expected to take this role, and if, to be frank, never desired it. I have always been a man of the navy and an officer of the fleet long before I was anything else.

But, leaders are never really born, they are made, chosen among those who show the quality of it. Who are made of stern enough stuff that they can take. I will never be my father, I could not hope to be, I can only do what I feel is best for the isle of Escuma, House Thrax and it's vassals, and Arx as a whole. Today I will grieve in the only way that I know how. With a good bottle and better memories. There will be memorial service held for my father in the future in the truest Thrax fashion that he would have wanted. And my first decree is to name name Lady Regla Navegant its new Voice.

For those that I count as friends, and for those that I do not yet know, I thank you for the words that I have received. I will strive to not let what he created pass. My fellow Shellbacks and I have taken the spear, but it will heal.

This far and no farther.
