On Traitors and Heroes

Posted by Alistair on 06/15/17
For Full and Prompt Dessimination to all High Lords and Ladies of the Compact:

The traitor to family and house, Shreve Tyde is dead. The traitor to Crown and Compact, Master of Questions Shreve Tyde, is dead. But his corruption and the corruption of his actions remain. Effective immediatly all Inquisitors are ordered to return to Arx. You have two weeks to return in consideration of travel, after two weeks if you are found outside the city of Arx without this matter having been declared concluded or without special dispensation of the Crown, you will be considered an enemy of Avrum and will be captured or dispatched as appropriate. No Quarter and No Mercy to the enemies of Avrum and to the enemies of Civilization. May the Sentinel guide our hand in Justice.

As to heroes. Our Inquisitorial Order is not normally one of pomp and elevation. Our duty is to be performed quietly and with directed purpose. Despite that, in recognition of the sacrifice of Inquisitor Narciso Artiglio a new tradition shall be enacted. To those who fall in the line of duty to the Inquisition, their memory shall be gifted Narciso's Candle, to be lit in the halls of the House of Question, and to only be allowed to fade on the day that marks the memory of their death. To signify that life burns bright but can always come to an end.
