Southport Square Relief Effort

Posted by Hadrian on 05/12/17

Let it be known that Southport Square within the Ward of the Lyceum will be opened to those who have been displaced due to the recently broken siege. We will accept as many as we are able and attempt to create a steady stream of inclusion as space becomes available through additional housing constructed or displaced persons being given new opportunities for permanent dwellings beyond Southport Square. While the Compact and many noteworthy noble Houses strive to offer their aid, House Malvici must also do what it is able to offset this growing problem.

Refugees who seek shelter within Southport Square will be provided the opportunity for gainful employment in a number of professions, basic needs to be met, and additional opportunities. Any who wish to depart the city and pursue a life beyond the capital may also be given such an opportunity. Following selection processes an offer will be made to individuals within the displaced groups that are in possession of a particular set of specialized skills. If they voluntarily accept such an offer they will be granted the means to travel to and become citizens of the city of Southport.

Naturally such an endeavor can include other lines of fealty on a voluntary basis. Should any House wish to volunteer themselves to accept those who answer this call of welcome to Southport Square, may contact Duke Hadrian Malvici in order to discuss the matter further. Select representatives of House Malvici will be prepared to consult with any House ruler or Voice that wishes to volunteer and ultimately commit themselves to accepting those refugees within their lands in order to pursue an opportunity to start a new life with new opportunities. Those who do volunteer their lands to accept said rufugees will be carefully considered to ensure that the rights of these refugees are given all due consideration, space is available for them, and that they will be able to make an honest living upon their arrival.

Due to the expanse of this intended project I will be tasking myself, the Voices of House Malvici, and other chosen representatives of the endeavor with approaching the various ruling heads of Houses and their respective Voices to discuss the possibility of charitable aid provided to the project. This charitable aid will go toward the necessary supplies to cater to those who make their way to Southport Square. While they strive to get their lives reassembled or their potential futures planned, basic needs should not be at the forefront of their beleaguered minds. Additionally I will be tasking representatives of this project with meeting with representatives of other noble Houses to ensure that borders will be made open and made available for the safe travel of these refugees to their new homes through the respective lands of those who own them.

By my authorization a Voice of House Malvici has recently seen to ensuring that the pensions of those who lost their lives in service to House Malvici in defense of the Compact will be paid for the next decade. Additionally House Malvici will be pledging the sum of three hundred thousand silver along with some of our own assets to ensure that basic demands for these groups be met.

House Malvici stands prepared to aid the common people who by no fault of their own have found themselves without roof over their heads, stable walls to protect them, or peace of mind in relation to where their next meal may be found. Southport Square stands prepared to accept those who seek an opportunity for a brighter future of freedom, opportunity, and prosperity.
