New Dominus

<<The white smoke from the Rectory has signaled a new Dominus. The morning after, messengers are sent across Arvum and Criers are hired for town squares to relay the following.>>The Dominus, the Legates, the Archlectors, and the Grandmasters of the Faith of the Pantheon have met in Convocation and weighed the matter of Brother Fawkuhl's leadership of the Faith. It is the determination of this Convocation that Brother Fawkuhl is no to no longer be Dominus, having allowed his mortal failings to cloud his ears to the voices of the gods. A new Dominus must now strive to set a better example.

The Faithful are asked to remember that Brother Fawkuhl is not a man of evil. He is not a blasphemer. He is a man with a man's flaws. But he did good in his life as well. He touched the lives of many, brought many joy, gave many guidance and good advice.

In the recent days, Brother Fawkuhl stated that many informed him the Faith Must Lead. This has been in my prayers of late, and I must conclude that it is an accurate, and true, statement. The Faith Must Lead. My time as Dominus will focus on this.

The Faith Must Lead through Service. The Faith Must Lead through Guidance. The Faith Must Lead through Example.

What the Faith must not do is lead by holding a crown or sitting on a throne.

Humbly in service to our gods and the Compact, we must lead without political ambition or thought of unnecessary contention.

In the coming days I will be speaking with High Lords, with the Commons, with the leaders of the Faith to ensure that we follow our rightful path, and that all we do only makes the Compact and the Faith stronger. I urge you all now, regardless of birth or standing, to let your thoughts be known. Let your voices be heard, your wounds be healed, and your devotion to the gods be restored or made stronger. Do so with respect to each other, with patience, and ever with a goal of understanding. Send me your messengers. I am old and slow, but I will read them. I will pray for guidance and wisdom to respond to them appropriately.

In Service,
Dominus Aldwin
