Passing of Duke Vercyn Halfshav

Posted by Khanne on 03/06/20

The Hungry Wolf has laid down his head and gone to rest.

It is with a heavy heart and somber mood that I proclaim that Duke Vercyn Halfshav has left this mortal realm. We received word from Whitehold that while training soldiers to be better, stronger, faster, he suffered a stroke and was unable to recover, passing in the night, claimed by the Queen of Endings. From the moment he took his last breath and for the appropriate time, House Halfshav shall be in a state of mourning according to our traditions.

My Uncle was a giant of a man, not only in stature but in personality. He was fearless, ruthless when he needed to be, but also kind-hearted to those he held closest to him, and a jovial man to share a drink with in more light-hearted times. His presence in this world will be missed by many.

It is an honor to now follow in his footsteps, to be named Duchess of Whitehold. I shall strive, as I always have, to make him proud.

My thanks go to the Mercies who cared for him in his last hours. I shall make a donation to their efforts in my Uncle's name.

A memorial will be held here in Arx to celebrate his memory, as already announced by his daughter, Lady Brianna Halfshav.

Duchess Khanne Halfshav

--- Redrain Stance via Darren ---
All of House Redrain mourns the passing of Duke Vercyn. To the last.

--- Fidante Stance via Calista ---
House Fidante offers our deepest condolences on the news of Duke Vercyn's passing. He was a mentor in tactical warfare as well as an aficionado of Northern spirits (rot gut whiskey). This evening, we lift a glass in your honor.

--- Stahlben Stance via Volcica ---
In honour of Duke Vercyn, House Stahlben will cover drinks at the Spirits for 13 days. Gone, but never forgotten.

--- Grayhope Stance via Mayir ---
The Grayhopes are certain that free drinks for the public at the Spirits would be an excellent remembrance.

--- Telmar Stance via Tesha ---
I am saddened to hear of the passing of Duke Vercyn as he was a good friend to House Telmar. He and Duke Arn were good friends as well. I know that my sister-in-law will be the driving force that House Halfshav needs and they are in good hands. Too the last.

--- Crovane Stance via Rysen ---
House Crovane mourns the passing of Duke Vercyn with House Halfshav, and we offer our support and best wishes to Duchess Khanne, in whose leadership we have supreme confidence.

--- Blackram Stance via Teagan ---
Duke Vercyn was an inimitable man. A figure you knew even if you never had the honor of meeting him in person. Duchess Khanne, however, had the guidance of one of the greatest tactical minds of Arvum to guide her into her new role and she will make a wonderful name for herself.
