Words of Investiture

To The Compact, and Mourning Isles in Particular,
I would like to take the opportunity to say that I understand the unorthodoxy of my elevation, that I will strive to set an example to all others who have been graciously entrusted with the honor of nobility. I know this is not the norm, and while it is also a surprise to me, I will strive to be deserving of this great honor that has been bestowed upon me and, in the eyes of the Peerage of the Mourning Islands, wholly deserving of it.
I plan to treat my new position with the honor that it bestows. Please bear with me as I further familiarize myself with my new duties and I hope that I can do Darkwater proud, and strive to live up to the standards that the rest of the Isles has set. And these standards will be the guiding light in how I will govern my people, henceforth, mindful of the traditions of the Mourning Islands and seeking to inspire my decisions through the wisdom of the past.
Lastly, I would like to thank Lady Venta Darkwater for this privilege and for placing her trust in me.
