Small Scale Combat Scenes

Posted by Herja on 11/12/22
After some thought and discussion, we have decided to open up the opportunity for players to run short, stakeless adventures for groups of players in the same vein as how social events currently work. These would be small scale combat stories that have little risk involved but still allow adventure-focused PCs to do what they enjoy. Think of these like the equivalent to hosting an IC party or other social scene. These types of events can be GMed without checking in with staff or submitting any PrP requests, but there will be no story rewards for these types of scenes and they cannot be used to further any major story. These stories also cannot change the world in any perceivable way.

Some examples might include:

- The Iron Guard chasing down some criminals through the city or investigating a small crime.
- Chasing down bandits outside of the major cities.
- Hunting pirates
- Small scale exploration

The key with these scenes is that they have nearly the same stakes as social based scenes like parties and balls. No one is likely to suffer any serious injuries and any sort of property damage is limited to a small, easily repaired area. There will also be no rewards or rfr for these stories. No magic or supernatural ties. For plots that will have a major effect on the game world or would entail some sort of plot reward or story update upon completion, you will still need to submit a PrP request as per the instructions previously provided. PrPs are not open to the whole game yet, but we are hoping to do so in the next few weeks.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to submit a +request.
