Sanctum Memorial

Since the end of the battle against the Gyre, a small but dedicated team has been working near Sanctum at the direction of Princess Alis Valardin, Princess Isabeau Valardin, and Prince Edain Valardin the Prince of Sanctum.
The two shrines have been erected on either side of the well worn road that leads directly to Sanctum; a little less than a mile out from the entrance to the fortress itself. Each marked by a sculpture that rests behind a place to kneel for worship. On one side, a giant shield carved from white marble and erected upright onto the base that has "As the world endures, we shall remember" etched across the front. Just behind the shield are three swords crossed and done to scale, with one word gleaming on each handle. "Duty", "Honor" and "Chivalry". Mirroring on the other side of the road is a giant blued steel knight's helmet with the word "Justice" embalzoned across the piece that would protect the forehead. Gloria, and Sentinel, both honored before one enters the Valardin stronghold.
The Valardin family has had some slightly rocky times with the Faith of late, but the people of Valardin and the Faith proper seem rightly pleased with the scope and size of these statues. The Seraph of Sanctum himself toured the new site, and was said to have nodded approvingly. One onlooker went so far as to say he smiled at them, but that may have just been a wildly unsubstantiated rumor.
He did, however, kneel in prayer - and hold a small service there for those present when he visited. "The Valardin family has dedicated this to the veterans of the Oathlands, past and present, who strive and fall and live and die to protect the Compact, the Oathlands, and the Faith. Let them be well remembered," he said.
Overall it is a beautiful monument and people take time to stop there on their way to and from Sanctum.
