Caras and the Faith

Archlector Caras of Gild comes from a good Oathlands family, like much of the Faith of the Pantheon. The Oathlands Orthodox has always been disproportionately represented among the senior echelons of the Faith, and many expect a degree of paying one's dues, even if officially all the godsworn leave their families behind. So when one of their own makes a decree on dogma, many of the senior members of the Faith look forward to it.
It starts well. It praises the universal virtues the Compact holds dear, particularly about freedom, and many fully expect him to denounce Thrax, whose methods have long rankled the West. He denounces the Abyss, and he throws shade at shamanism, which is a dog whistle most of the Oathlands gleefully approves of. Yes, certainly, the next line about unity after mocking godless northerners is a little out of place, but that is no problem at all. Unity afer all is something most of the Faith approves of, particularly if it is on their terms. They are the arbiters of morality in the Compact, and they fully expect no one else to ever forget it. Unity with the Faith and in the Compact is fantastic.
Wait, what's this about ameliorating injuries? Stopping others from undermining House Thrax? AND GIVING OUR MONEY TO HOUSE THRAX? All right, sure, paying off godless prodigals and making them good servants of the Compact and before the Faith, that they can be on board for, but certainly not encouraging crownsworn to travel to the Isles! That almost certainly made a few senior members of the Faith nearly drop dead of apoplexy, since those are exactly the people the Faith depends upon to become Godsworn, and in the good old days, this is one of those statements that would have a Marachian style reformer suffer a convenient spectacularly fatal accident.
A statement from the Dominus Aldwin follows very shortly after, "Archlector Caras of Gild speaks rightfully on the need for unity in the Compact, and to that end the Faith is quite willing to pay for devotional training as former thralls transition to godsworn in the service of the Pantheon and the Compact, which is what the former Archlector meant to say. Brother Caras has taken a leave of absence from his duties to study dogma, and as such we will be appointing a new Archlector of Gild. We thank him for his service and his support of unity in difficult times."
