Isles of Markets

Word spreads among sailors and traders with connection to the Cullers about an influx of goods from the Isle of Markets in the Saffron Chain. Woven fabrics, pottery, and spices among other goods are reaching Arx with greater frequency and at more consistent prices. They arrive in Seraceni ships, whose sailors seem to favor the hats bearing a striking resemblance to that which has been recently adopted by Lord Orland, and who are heard singing songs they claim to have first learned in the Saffron from Lady Ophira Blackshore.
Gossip among the Lycene courtiers tells of how Lady Medeia Eswynd and Lord Ciro Seraceni convinced the most dangerous and volatile of the Saffron Chain's smugglers to adopt Seraceni law. The code is said to have been written by Lady Tatyana Grimhall, and various legal scholars of the Morning Isles and the Oathlands who claim knowledge of it, speak of its elegance, simplicity and fairness - not without vehemently questioning whether such excellent laws are wasted on the pirates and rogues of House Seraceni.
