Unbearable Forest

Amidst the circulation of terrible events, some good news filters down from the high altitudes of the densely forested north. Rumored by superstitious locals to harbor twisted bear-like beasts, a dark woodland in the western part of Redrain lands has begun to undergo a bit of a rehabilitation! A perimeter of thorny brambles and boulders carried down from the mountaintops has been erected to impede through-travel and signage has been posted all around depicting a dapper bear advising passersby of estimated danger levels. The forest has seen a significant drop in associated disappearances as a result. How much of a drop? Difficult to say!

Wild game brought in from the Oathlands and other northern territories thrive just out of hunters' reach and happy white flowers bloom all along the forbidden forest's edge. Area shamans aren't too pleased with the flowers but concede that they're nicer to look at than what was there before and welcome a new sanctuary to nature. The real story on the tongues of commonfolk seems to be the forest's worms, however, which have begun to grow to such a robustly wriggling quality that it's really just extraordinary.
