A number of galleys arrive in the docks of the Lowers along with Marquis Dio Seraceni's flagship The Osprey, in an apparent stop to resupply before leaving for Pearlspire. Nearly two hundred freed men, women and children flood into markets, the Murder of Crows and the Ebb and Flow Inn, recounting how Count Orrin Seliki, along with his daughter and a number of adventures from Arx, staged a slave rebellion on the Isle al'Aswaq in the Saffron Chain.
The freed people tell how Lady Peri Seliki strategically hid crates of weapons crafted by the apprentices of Brother Felix Meadson, and how Count Orrin spread word of the uprising and personally led them to victory over their oppressors. A good deal of praise is also showered on the inspiring words of Marquessa Imogene Seraceni, and the combat prowess of Lord Thomas Hawkmour, Sir Merek Black and Lady Thea Malvici, who, the freed folk claim, cut a bloody swath through the slavers' enforcers.
With dark frowns and murmurings, they also speak of Marquis Dio Seraceni and his pirates, who raided the marketplace of the island, and though slaying slavers, seemed to care more for plunder than anything else. Indeed, a good number of crates containing silk, jewelry, precious tableware and furnishings, spices and rare black pearls are seen by fisherfolk in the Lowers being unloaded by the crew of The Osprey into a warehouse said to be friendly to House Seraceni.
