Kennex Diplomacy

One thing that the emancipation of thralls has done for Kennex is make shav a little easier to deal with. When the choices aren't just "death" or "slavery" then suddenly people seem to be a little more willing to do things like "talk" and "discuss" and "accept diplomatic overtures." In this case, the delegation under Lord Constantine Kennex takes ruthless (but polite!) advantage of this shift, shamelessly playing on the success of the actions in Setarco to build their street (sea?) credibility.
And so with Countess Titania, Lady Zoey, Marquis Ford, Lady Christine, Princess Gwenna, Lady Juliana, and Caspian Wild in tow, the diplomatic corps ranges from across the Compact and from highborn to low, and is a fascinating group that catches the shav's attention. Granted, part of that is Caspian Wild's reputation as the Grandmaster of the Champions Guild, which is popular even in the Isles. He signs a few autographs as he and Countess Titania talk about the Faith, and a few of his fans listen intently. Their message gets across, even as he has a pamphlet about Mangata pushed toward him to sign.
Princess Gwenna and Lady Christine are doing a good job too - they all speak Arvani, these shav - but when little side conversations break out in isles shav, the two women are happy to quietly translate for their group, so as not to get bamboozled by the shav either. This helps Constantine avoid some very bad situations indeed. And Marquis Ford, aided by Lady Juliana, and Lady Zoey, appears quite reasonable and likeable - he cuts quite a figure, and it's no little flattery that the Marquis himself is the one that comes with the group to recruit them to the Compact. Of course, this likely sets Lord Aethan - tasked with the security for this diplomatic crew which includes a large number of important family members - a little on edge. A lot on edge? But he manages their security admirably.
In the end, it is a fairly successful diplomatic effort, and quite a few shav bend the knee, increasing Kennex domain.
