Action by Ainsley
Ainsley has never attempted to connect with the gods outside of Gloria. For one he doesn't know if he can, for two... he's never had a reason to either. But he's also never connected with anyone other than Gloria before connecting with her Seraph. Desperation breeds ingenuity. So now he's going to spend time meditating and attempting to connect with the other Gods of the Arts and Science:
Jayus and Vellichor. Specifically, Vellichor, the God of Knowledge.
He will concentrate on Vellichor-- praying to him, journalling, and reading books on subjects he doesn't know already.
He'll be trying to connect to Vellichor for a specific reason:
Surely the God of Knowledge has some idea of where Aislin is and what happened to her. So he will be trying to connect with this other god... and catch some idea of what happened to his friend.
Result
Vellichor is silent. No matter how hard Ainsley prays, Vellichor is silent. He prays, and he prays, and he prays. And still there is no answer. And so he follows his next best option and goes to Aislin's treehouse, armed with his sorrow and a large bottle of wine. It's hard, climbing those rungs. It's like he expects her to be there somehow, like magic.
But of course, it's empty. Or... or is it?
There on the floor, a piece of paper and a feather, and a rock to hold it down. There's no telling how long it has been there. This feather of Nyx's. This paper written in Aislin's hand, a page torn from a journal.
"We should remember fondly those who are lost, but move on; after all, there are bigger things to worry about."
