Bashira Ru-taul

Where something even deeper than the marrow knows that the cost of avoiding what one fears is even greater than the actual object of that fear and so the fear itself is even more corrosive even more destructive than all the frightening potential of the thing that arouses it.

Obituary: Died tragically while performing a shamanic ritual to protect the grove near the Lodge of Petrichor.

Description: Bashira stands at seven inches over five feet tall with a figure that is athletic but femininely so. And, of course, she has the face of an angel. Her complexion is lightly tanned. This is mainly due to her heritage and days spent in the sunlight. Her intelligent hazel eyes are emphasized by the long black lashes that surround them and by the ebon brows above them that lift expressively when she speaks. Her heavy, raven hair is a mass of unruly curls and wispy tendrils that surround her face like a secretive shadow. Her hair reaches to her waist and generally holds braids with shells and pearls within them.

Personality: Bashira shares some of her older brother Caspian's personality for the bright and the dark. She admittedly is more guarded until she gets to know and trust people. Once she does though they've gained a pretty loyal friend. Almost to a fault sometimes. Her past has a lot to do with it, so would anyone blame a young woman for not wanting to get ensnared in some dark scheme or life again.

She has a deep desire to learn and absorb as much as much of the Island Shav culture as she can. Even going to lengths as to learning some of the shamanistic practices. She has adopted the dress as well. Its an identity of her own that she was not afforded as a child. So she clings to it just a little.

Background: Bashira was a Thrall, much like her brother, Caspian. As were her mother and father. Her parents died and they inherited their debt. To say that their life was not easy was an understatement. But there was a light in the form of Princess Donella Thrax releasing them from their Thralldom. Bashira was sixteen and Caspian was nineteen. Going from life as a Thrall was not hard for her, that was until Caspian said that he was going to leave for Arx and become a mercenary. This did not upset her. Her brother needed to walk his own path and he had taken care of her. She was a bit upset with him when she found out that he'd changed his last name, but, she let it go.

She stayed in the Mourning Isles, determined to find out more about their Tribe. Wanting to find some remnant of their family. But that turned out to be far more difficult. So she started to learn a trade, working on merchant ships as a sailor. When she wasnt working, she was doing her best to absorb every bit of knowledge she could about the Island Shav culture and things related to it. Caspian wrote her diligently. Through these she learned more of what he was doing, but she knew something was amiss. Call it sibling intuition. She continued to work hard though, finally going back to learning new skills. She was surprised recently by a letter from her brother, asking if she can meet him when he visits the Mourning Isles on the Champions Tour.

  • Name Summary
Agostino Pleasant company, even if she seems a bit sad at times. She certainly seems to underestimate herself, though.
Alarissa Caspian Wild's sister, of the shamanistic bent as well. One who is interested in the occult. One hopes that it does not get her killed for she will be interesting to speak with.
Auda Definitely welcoming, definitely a woman I'd like to get to know better!
Caspian Though she's grown a bit since I've last scene her she hasn't changed a bit! Still my beloved sister!
Coraline She has guts and a strong intellect, East Light is lucky to have her.
Cullen A new arrival from Thrax and apparently freed from Thralldom, thank the gods and spirits. She seems pleasant and friendly, I hope she finds her way in the city easily enough. She should have connections to call upon, given her brother.
Darren This charming woman introduced herself to me at the bonfire on the Redrain grounds. She was very gracious, every bit the perfect guest.
Harlex Sailor from the Mourning Isles. Freed from her past by the sea. Relatable and patient.
Helia I like her! She has a nice manner about her, and she's a superb sailor. Someone I'd be happy to see again.
    Ian Caspian Wild's sister.
Jeffeth Caspian Wild's sister. For all I've witnessed of Caspian's, I see the opposite in Bashira. She is kind, cares about people, their privacy and their well being. She seems good. I hope she is a positive influence on her brother, now that she is here.
Jordan Caspian Wild's sister. Younger sister, I think? She's learning how to be deft with daggers, which makes me wonder if she intends to follow in her brother's footsteps.
Khanne She seems warm and friendly. Sometimes, you meet people, and you just get a sense of who they are. She seems like someone I will enjoy knowing.
Lottie What a lovely thing she is. Both in appearance and personality. Sweet and seems a little soft spoken, which I like. Offered to take me out on the water when it warms up a bit! I'm looking forward to it and getting to know her better.
Luca Caspian never mentioned he had a sister, and now I see why. If she were my sister, I'd keep her out of Arx too. Nothing but rogues here, in this place. Her hair is something else, I admit. I'm going to have to teach her how to wield a sword before her brother talks her into that knife stuff. We live in dangerous times. A beautiful woman should wield a beautiful sword. For her safety, of course.
Meriah Never met such exotic folks down in the Lowers before! What a pretty name! Seems a decent sort, too. Quick with her hands.
Oriana A striking woman with the poleaxed look of one new to Arx. She'll get used to it. Maybe.
Pasquale A sailor and new arrival to Arx from the Mourning Isles. She seems eager to do her part against the things that prowl the darkness here. Too eager, perhaps. I hope she finds much beauty and little trouble.
Petal She seems really friendly and is going to be a champion like her brother and her name is really neat.
Quenia Quite a polite young girl, and quick on her feet. She might know something of medicine too, perhaps.
Reese Caspian's sister with lovely hair and lots o shells. I really wonder more about her, like what she does for a living. She seems friendly and has a nice way of talking.
Reigna Sister to Caspian Wild, sweet and obviously concerned about her brother.
Sabella She seemed quite fun! A sailor of some sort, which is not unexpected from a Thraxian. She had a great sense of humor and I would definitely like to spend more time with her, especially since she's Caspian's sister and probably has some great stories to tell!
Simone A lovely woman and sister to Caspian. Seeing them together made me miss my own siblings.
Zebulon Hmm. Caspian has a sister? She's pretty in a wild way. I think I could get used to being around her more.
