Action by Eirene
Provided she's not forbidden by the Fidantes, Eirene will go through Juliet's room to see if she can find any kind of clues as to why this and why now. Sure- she'll go through her massacred girlfriend's things... She knows Juliet served Cardia so she has an idea of why this happened. And if she can find the catalyst for this, she will. Also- if Fidelia the lady in waiting is still alive she'd ask who the last people Juliet saw were, and if there's any letters she received recently.
Result
Assuming that Calista lets Eirene inspect the portrait and ask questions around, two big things stand out. First, the way the portrait was designed. It would have taken a nearly impossible degree of skill to flay someone and arrange the viscera the way they did. Most would have torn, and it seems nearly impossible someone could make a painting like that so quickly, Eirene working with organs knows that most of the human body is easy to tear, so it seems absurdly skilled that someone could make the grotesque painting out of Juliet's body. Secondly, Fidelia was seen leaving Juliet's room well after the time of Juliet's death. But word among the servants is that Fidelia was found murdered as well.
