Lord Ingvar Grimhall
There is no opponent as fascinating as the unknown.
Description: Tall, broad of shoulder, and standing just a whisker over six feet, his intense demeanor can be a bit much for some. His skin is lightly tanned, from years beneath the sun, and his complexion smooth, while appearing to be somewhere in his late teens to early twenties. A crop of short hair, a dark golden brown in color has been shaved down at the sides and back while the top is left alone, typically found pulled back in a traditional braid to keep it out of his field of vision. His face is sculpted with a strong jaw and angular cheekbones providing a backdrop for expressive features, the centerpiece of which are his eyes, deep set, azure blue and observant.
Personality: In spite of his rather serious nature, Ingvar tends to act (and react) before thinking a lot of the time, relying on instinct over pondering the correct course of action. There are notable exceptions, such as violence. While he might engage in sparring, when it comes to a real fight, he lacks the casual approach that many Mourning Islanders take to such matters. He also has a keen interest in what lies beyond the horizon, and finds himself fascinated by stories of the lands outside of Arvum.
Background: Third oldest of Duke Harald Grimhall's children, and identical twin to the late Sivard Grimhall, Ingvar struggled to stand out among the sheer number of siblings he grew up with. He was not the eldest son, nor did he have the sort of unique skills that brought his twin notoriety, so he developed a rather reckless approach to his training, and to life in general. There are those who claim, however, that due to this, and the wanderlust inspired by the stories his favorite maid told him while growing up, there is no one who knows the island of Grihem's Point better than he does.
Sometime after he got his first taste of real violence, he developed a distaste of it that many of his fellow Islanders find odd, to say the least. Though his skill at arms has not suffered for it, as those few who have faced him can attest, he simply does not have the relish for combat that many seem to expect from him and his kin. This did not stop him from fighting in the recent war against the Gyre, where, from all accounts, he was quite active in the Battle of Setarco.
In the wake of those battles, he returned to Arx with his brother and father rather than going back home. While there, stories of other explorers in the capital city of the Compact caught his attention, and he desires to learn more of those tales while serving his house's interests.
Name | Summary |
Orchid | Lord Ingvar is my patron and takes good care of me, as all Grimhalls do. It is not good to say but I do enjoy his company the most. That is why he is my patron over another Grimhall. |
