Obituary: Presumed dead in an ambush while headed to Sanctum.
Description: A comely young woman with vibrant green eyes and neck-length, smartly kept brown hair. Her eyes are hawkish, analytical things, suggesting a thoughtful bearing. While possessed of some pleasing curves, her lithe body type is clearly one more for going unnoticed than being the center of attention. Lacking in much obvious strength, physical grace and polite bearing seem to be the order of the day here.
Personality: Imbued with youth and vigor, clearly a woman with a passion for her work. Can be stand-offish and brooding when caught outside her comfort zone, which is a nebulous thing at best. Doting to the ones she cares for, snappish and dismissive towards those she sees little worth in. Enjoys flaunting any and all knowledge of history she has when someone asks. Plainly eager to visit old places and test herself in them.
Background: An orphan that knew no parentage, Wynna grew up a street urchin that persisted off the generosity of others on Arx's streets. When she became old enough to get by without one guardian or another, she became a cut-purse that ran with multiple youth gangs as needed, drifting between the roles of distraction and thief in equal measure. It was here that she learned best how to keep herself subtle, manipulate people into getting what she wanted, and when all else failed how to run quickly.
Things changed when she was attempting to steal the purse of an older Scholar of Vellichor - his spectacles had fallen and shattered in the attempt, and Wynna was struck by a bad case of sudden empathy. Abandoning her gang's scheme, she escorted the old fellow, Tristan, back to the Archive, where he proceeded to reveal that he knew her game, to question her unfortunate lot in life at such an early age. Influenced by his words and bearing (and importantly his not throwing her to a guard), she needed little convincing to take up an offer to learn to read and write.
While she never quite lost her more conniving touch and her thrill for various rushes of dexterity or fast-talking, Wynna swiftly transformed into an insatiable amateur scholar. Obsessed with all things having to do with reading and writing, she savored the written word like drops of water to a woman dying of thirst. History became a passion as she learned of old places that were ill-visited, of tremendous events occuring in the past and how they may influence the future. She committed names to memory, dates and stories, much to the humble pleasure of her older tutor.
While Tristan had to eventually move on to other pursuits and students, it was with some pride that he left Wynna to pursue her own ambitions of learning. Not content with simply being a scholar, Wynna yearned to experience adventure as well - to find the old places she learned of and to uncover their secrets, and to reveal things forgotten so that they might never be again. Her survival instinct as a former thief might yet save her life when her scholarly drive gets the better of her.

Name | Summary |
Aleksei | Clever, but willing to listen, which not all clever people are! |
Ardoin | I do appreciate others who can find dry humor in circumstances others would consider dire or impugning their honor or whatnot. Besides being a gracious host, intelligent in her discussion, and an effective teacher, she had that first quality in spades. I should enjoy conversing with her more in the future. |
Caspian | She seems to be an overly cautious sort. She needs to relax and live a little! |
Echo | She uses a crossbow. You don't see that everyday, and she seems to be asking some good questions that a lot of us in the city tend to ignore. |
Magpie | Magpie bumped into Wynna at the Murder of Crows. She seemed to be a very particular scholar with very specific interests in history. She didn't run away when he sat down at her table, however, so that's always a bonus! |
Mia | I have all of her books. What higher praise can I offer than that? |
Monique | A leggy beauty, with a good deal of brains, too. This woman is a master author, and a friend. |
Nierzen | I was stunned to discover someone worth talking to about important things. Gods, I might even try to have another conversation with her in the future. Someone who's not an idiot, finally! |
Sparte | A gift from the gods! A scholar with an interest in history. What bookshelf was she hidden behind all this time? |
Viktor | A helpful young lass, got me to kick my ass into gear and run around. Gods I am getting to old for this. At least she wasn't one of those bashful blushing types. |
