Lady Maylis Steelhart
There is no affliction that can't be mended with the right herbs, the right knowledge, and a little bit of love.
Description: Maylis is a woman of average height, a willowy figure in an ankle-length linen dress. Her clothing is homespun, simple but sturdy, and her carefully-coiffed short blonde hair and neat garb speak to an attention to cleanliness. She usually wears aprons with deep pockets, and smells of whatever fresh herbs she's been out picking that morning. She's rarely seen without a smile for everyone who crosses her path, and moves with calm, measured grace.
Personality: Maylis is a tender-hearted, patient woman who treats her patients as if they were members of her own family. While she abhors gossip, she's always quick to lend an ear and some carefully-considered advice, generally over a mug of piping-hot tea. After all, as she always insists, healing involves the body and the heart; mending both is her calling.
Background: The wife of a minor noble (the kind who was lucky to get so much of an acre of land with his title, not that Maylis has any complaints), she found her love for herbalism at an early age. She took to the healer's arts with gusto, learning common cures for everything from headaches to the gout, and dispensing them along with what she hopes is valuable advice. Her business is small, her coinpurse is light, but her real reward has always been the smiling faces of her 'patients' and knowing she's made a difference in people's lives.
