Action by Lou

Mason and Lou are wanting to travel into the Grayson lands. They know the lands are dying. They figure there are many people out there struggling. They are wishing to go in an attempt to gather the common folk and recruit the untainted shav tribes to unify against the threat in their lands. While they are there, they will also be talking to the locals and investigating the area in hopes of finding something to help in driving off this blight.

Few know these lands as well as Lou does. They were where she cut her teeth as an explorer and even after years spent away, traveling through other lands, she remembers its contours the way a skilled sculptor will remember the first bust they ever crafted. Once, years ago, while she was still in her youth, a new adventurer with boots barely broken in and stars in her eyes, she'd come across a particularly verdant grove. The trees rose tall enough to seem primordial, and cast the peaceful place into a green shadow. It was lush there. It was overflowing with life. Remembering it, she steers herself and Mason in that direction, dreading to find it dead-- but overcome with joy to find it still there, still as brilliant and deeply rooted as she remembered. But now, unlike then, there is a trio of small hide tents pitched in the center. When the pair approach, tattooed shamans emerge from the tents and greet them warily but peacefully. It is difficult to communicate, their dialect of Arvani thick and broken to Lou's ears. But with patience-- and a little scratching of pictograms in the dirt for both parties-- they manage to convey that they fled the Blight, the Bringers, the Arvani raiders. But rather than flee away from Arx they've fled towards it, because they had been told that the poison killing the Forest comes from Arx, but they don't believe it to be so. They have a method capable of reversing the blight, of cleansing the poison. They wish to test it but, exhausted, they haven't been able to move from this sanctuary and so they tend it for now, keeping it green, keeping it lush, keeping it healthy.
