Action by Eirene

Another dead Malvici. It's becoming almost common at this point, to Eirene's extreme anger. Using the Inquisition's Morgue and autopsy room, with permission and Godric's accompaniment, Eirene conducts Anze's autopsy to see if there's anything she can learn from his death. Standard Abyssal experiments, mirror testing, autopsy from a medical standpoint... she does it as detatched as she can for someone she cared for as family.

Action by Godric

Have morgue, will (not) travel. Godric will be there to assist with the autopsy and experiments, performing with his usual thoroughness and attention to detail. What can two grouches discover?? Hopefully some good information.

Action by Talwyn

Result

Eirene and Godric do the autopsy together. From a medical standpoint, it looks very much as though the initial assumptions were correct - he died of fright. There are no surprising wounds or any particular indicators of poisoning either, definitely something a medic from the Lyceum would check.

But what could have scared a notable fighter like Duke Anze to death?

Eirene checks the ways she thinks will indicate some sort of magic and - it's not that things are inconclusive, it's that nothing makes sense. The mirror shows a regular reflection one time, and another time shows a reflection as though Anze is in his final moments, and he turns his head and gasps, but he is held still while whatever he sees causes his face to change from surprise to terror. The struggle is evident on his face until abject fear overwhelms it all.

The holy water does nothing but wet the corpse.

In the end, whatever he met in the Lowers was enough to hold him still, keep him from fighting, and scare him literally to death. But whether it was abyssal or not is inconclusive. And what could have done such a thing? Who?
