Action by Tobias
Due to the ramped up recovery efforts for the County fo Cedar Vale, the Stonewoods fear bandit or tribal atacks on the increased movement of goods. The Crimson Blades have been hired by House Stonewood to help offset this, via Malesh Stonewood. Copper (100 heavy infantry), Bronze (100 heavy infantry), and Ruby Companies (100 scout archers) will be allocated to this contract, and Tobias himself heads over with them for initial setup. Phase 1 will have the Crimson Blades do a force recon sweep of Stonewood and Fireviper land routes, clearing any hostiles as they go. If any major resistance is found, Tobias will pull reinforcements from the Stonewood army, which will be mainly garrisoning population centers (Malesh has approved this, and has given Tobias temporary command of Stonewood forces). During this, Tobias is going to be on the lookout for a place to setup a long term command post/base camp for ongoing long term work in the region. Their primary goal is the safety and security of trade routes for Stonewood and Fireviper reconstruction.
Phase 2 will start once the routes are confirmed secure, and have one of his NPC captains start to setup patrols for the swept routes for caravan protection, while Tobias is going to setup the base camp with Stonewood logistics support that the Crimson Blades will be using. Once done, he will be handing over day to day operations to the Captain until House Stonewood decides to proceed to the next part of their plan.
Action by Malesh
Malesh will be watching this all very closely. He feels the great burden of needing to care for the people of Cedar Vale, even as Grayson looks East to Kennex. As the Crimson Blades move through the land to prevent or respond to any banditry or further tribal activity, he will monitor the progress. He will study the trends of such activity in the past and compare it to what happens as the goods begin to poor in. Does a particular group rise to power? Are the Blades a good investment? What can his own army learn by working with the mercanaries? Is there a particular area that might be the seat of power for 'the enemy' in the area? What do the locals have to say about what's changed?
Result
Abandoned activity is surprisingly low in the area. Some skirmishes still happen, though nothing the Blades can't handle, and lawlessness drops immediately in Cedar Vale and Stonehearth. While there was the potential danger in an uptick in banditry due to other distractions, it never materializes in the lands due to the Blades' presence.
