Princess Danielle Valardin
Pragmatism is tantamount to admitting failure.
Description: Not quite breaking even with five feet, this young woman has three main features of note. The first is how small-boned she is both in height and weight alike. The second is the intense violet hue of her vibrant and immense eyes. And the third is the color of her hair. A sterling silver untouched by even traces of gold, she looks too young for the color, it is so silver. And yet, this is the color it comes in, all the same. Long and silken and rampantly curling tresses of it which fall to hip length. Her limbs are fine and delicately toned, but the pale gold of her skin barely reveals the fading scars of only a handful of serious fights witnessed thus far. Her curves lend to an hourglass figure, and her mouth is full lipped and pale pink.
Personality: Possessed of an unwavering sense of honor, more than anything, Danielle is a proud woman and a woman of her word. Even on multiple occasions when such tendencies have put her directly in the path of possibly dying. A more reasonable person might make exceptions for extenuating circumstances. But you don't grow up being a pragmatist but instead an idealist. Pragmatism is instead a failure to hold to the purity of ideals. As you can guess, she's not necessarily the funnest guest to have at a party, though you'd definitely want her to have your back in a war zone.
Background: Her great grandfather was a part of the line of succession in the house, if only just. Technically, Edain is a distant great uncle, but she is closer related to Ectorion, in their respective distance from any sort of inheritance or succession, his mother Lyllindyl being her aunt. Her father died fighting the forces of Tolamar Brand. Her mother died during childbirth. She has half a dozen or so half brothers and sisters from her father's later marriage. She idolized the man, and took to learning a weapon from the time she was old enough to hold one, quick to emulate her childhood hero. Her own training only recently came to any sort of formal conclusion and then only because she was so anxious to be done with learning and get on to the doing! More than any other God, her dedication is to Limerance. Though she does love the idea of love, it is more because of the importance of oaths, the reliability and accountability meaning more than any romantic elements. Of late, with the Compact seemingly teetering on the edge of war, she's come to the Capital, with the hopes to find glory on the front lines of battle, even if it's the last thing she ever does.
Name | Summary |
Adrienne | It's been so long. She's a woman grown now. |
Drake | Cheerful, polite, quite delicate to behold but I know better than to underestimate a woman from size alone. She seems to be a great fan of sword fighting, horse riding... we have several common interests. Though I'd expect no less from a Valardin Princess. |
Emlyn | A lovely distraction who knows about swordplay - and is a Princess! Intriguing. Would like to get to know her better. |
Porter | What a very tiny princess! She's so small, I think I could put her in my pocket. Maybe I'll try next time. |
Reese | A princess of the dragons who seems very impressed with me. I find myself flattered by that. I remember when I was newly arrived in Compact and she reminds me a bit of myself then. She is small, but she will rise and become a hero herself. I think there is something, there, drive, passion, something. She will do great things. |
Ryhalt | A Princess passionate about swordplay and serving her house honorably. Perhaps soon she will be one of the city's newest heroes. |
Videl | A princess from Sanctum, seems sheltered but pleasant enough, I hope spring and the return of proper fashion won't shock her too much. |
