Battle of Whitewood

Word reaches Arx of a battle about a day's travel north of the city. Fifteen hundred iron guard soldiers that had turned renagade and abandoned the city of Arx to join their swords to the growing shav forces were caught by forces under the overall command of Duke Gabriel Bisland. In what they are now calling the Battle of Whitewood, the Iron Guard traitors were pinned against the White Mountain River in a grassy clearing that allowed them to be surrounded by the forces of different houses, a deadly stretch of land choosen with care by Duke Gabriel Bisland as the battlefield. Grayson and Lycene forces under Duke Gabriel and Lady Calypso approached from the west, Redrain forces under the command of Prince Darren, Prince Anze and Princess Deva Redrain held the line to the North, and Thrax and Darkwater forces under Lord Victus Thrax and Prince Ainsley Grayson hit them in the rear. Prince Darren Redrain, according to all reports, in particular performed brilliantly- his cavalry charge breaking lines at a crucial moment that resulted in a general rout.
Upon his return from Stonedeep, Lord Mydas Nightgold and his escort were ambushed by a group of blood-mad Shavs, slaying most of the escort and imprisoning the rest, Lord Mydas included. Upon receiving the news, Duchess Nadia Nightgold, Lord Sigurd Nightgold and Lord Cassius Nightgold gathered what troops they could and rushed to their relative's rescue. The battle was made at the ruins of a village held by the Shavs, with Cassius holding the front most valourously against the waves of savage Shavs, while Sigurd cut his way through their ranks in the search for his brother. With some minor injury to the party and minimal losses sustained, the party made their way back to Arx after Nadia rallied against the remaining tribe of Moon Dancers until they were no more, villages and its corpses burned to the ground.
