Action by Jaenelle for Skal'dajan Diplomacy

(Public Action, OOC Date: March 14, 2020, 10:48 a.m.)

Jaenelle has called the Lyceum fleet to action by reaching out to her banners. Through her leadership, she will unify the Lyceum to this threat. She will go to Lenosia to see preparations are being made herself, but will return to Arx afterwards.

Admiral Antonio Velenosa will take lead, working with the other houses of the Lyceum and Prince Victus Thrax or whomever he has placed in charge of the Mourning Isle's Fleet.

The Lyceum fleet will be helping to transport members of the Templars beneath Sir Preston's leadership.

The Isles Canines Fleet, including the two Caravels will be going with Velenosa for this intervention? Juliana as Voice for the Isles has committed them to Jaenelle. Jules will be going along but in the complicity of a Healer and if needed Diplomat.

While actually leading Malvici's fleet will be Domonico's responsibility, Calypso is the one in possession of the Duchess Beatstick, so she takes the responsibility of rounding up her vassals and making sure they understand that 1) This not a drill and 2) She will be paying very close attention to who responds and who doesn't. She reminds the reticent that the Eurusi threat isn't just to the Mourning Isles and Setarco, and if it's not turned back while it's still far away, the Lyceum is going to find itself fighting a war on two fronts.

Calypso isn't blind to the concerns her vassals might have about the Thornweave threat, however, and makes sure they understand that she's taking it into account. She reminds them that Southport's city guards and ground forces will be staying in Southport at the ready, and they'll be able to respond quickly if there's need to do so, and she even offers Southport's protection in the event of trouble, telling the truly reticent about the improvements the city has made to its defenses (Action #3858) and about the new and improved city guard and the very competent woman who leads them (Thea). She even drops hints about dock improvements being made by Martino (Action #3852), a subtle reminder that Malvici's wealth and power in the region is only growing, making them a very good friend to have. She makes sure they understand that the shav issue is being handled by Eirene (Action #3882) and won't make itself into a distraction at an inopportune moment; quite to the contrary, they as well as Malvici will be protected by Malvici allied ships patrolling the coast.

Between proving that Malvici has it's collective shit well and truly together, her offers of safety, and the Duchess Beatstick, Calypso is hoping to make sure the political calculus that her vassals do leads them to the conclusion that they're going to get more out of rallying to her banner with everything they can muster than they'll protect by holding back.

War is a tricky thing. /Banners/ are a tricky thing. The Compact has experienced two wars in recent years that span across the Great Houses, but there still must be resistance to the idea of sailing the Lenosian fleet off to the /Mourning Isles/. So Berenice is going to make sure to minimize that resistance. She will charm the Lenosian armies -- navies? military -- into action. A smile, a word, a promise of glory and Lenosian greatness. A reminder of promises made to allies, and the importance of standing with them against foreign hostile forces -- even if only to protect the Lyceum in the end. Whatever gets the job done.

The entire Southport Fleet sails in response to Velenosa calling their banners and Domonico will be commanding them from his own caravel, the Tempest. This is what the fleet and Domonico have been training for for some time now and they aim to see it through.
The Malvici Admiral will offer his expertise and assistance to Admiral Antonio and the other naval leaders, in tactics, strategems and particularly in the field of helping enable inter House communication and co-ordination, both with Lycene fleets and those of the other fealties, something that he has specifically trained for (Action #3052 and Action #3462). The book Compact Naval Lexicon will be of good use here.
The Malvici Fleet have been bolstered by a dozen ships from Saik, (6 Longships and 6 Galleys) which have been placed under the command of Admiral Domonico and will be fighting alongside the main fleet.
The fleet will be well equipped with arms and armour from Southport Steel (Action #3190) and supplies from Goldhawk Naval Base (Action #2351).
The Malvici fleet will form around their Dromonds and in particular the siege weapon armed Sea Hawk, with the longships aiming to board and take the fight to ships that have been rammed by the galleys. The Tempest will use it's speed and maneuverability to be where it is needed most in the Malvici fleet, as well as coordinating it.
If it comes to battle then Admiral Domonico and the fleet will not shirk their duties.

Ornella is going to act as Antonio's bodyguard during the assault. If it comes too close, it will find itself on a long swim back to shore. If it gets uppity, she has a cutting implement for that. Antonio is in good hands. If it turns out that Antonio needs her to go perform more personal missions, then she can do that too.

Quenia answers the call of the banners and directs a bulk of her naval forces to travel with the Lyceum fleet, putting them under the direct charge of Admiral Antonio Velenosa. She also does her best to talk up the efforts Jaenelle is making to create a unified fleet, reminding the members of the Lyceum that their very freedom could be at stake if they fail to answer the call themselves.

Cambria makes certain that her own city-state of Ostria heeds the call of its liege, Velenosa. It is important not only to reassure the citizens, but also ensure the soldiery is in prime condition for action. Through her leadership, Duchess Cambria Mazetti does her utmost to show the Lyceum - and the rest of the Compact, that Ostria is ready to tackle anything.

Selene carries the title "Whisper of Peace," earned for her tireless efforts dealing with the Great Road. She relies on that reputation as the travels among the Hundred Cities, reaching out to the smaller and far-flung domains and the largest cities alike. At each place, she throws wide the glittering net of  Whisper prestige and influence to pull the beloved Lycene population close. The message is direct and clear -- lending assistance to the Archduchess' efforts to repulse the Eurusi navy, to once again rise with grace and dark wit to overcome their enemies' cunning. Is not this the appropriate hour to remind the whole of the Compact that the Lyceum can tip the balance in war with more than simply strength of arms? Everyone has a part to play from devising brilliant naval strategy to increasing the expansion of sail-weaving, rope making, setting supplies for hungry crews or marshalling resources to support those gone to war.

She speaks to merchants and nobles, sailors and sword-dancers of their possible contributions. Let them walk away with ideas humming in their ears, for a chance to make their mark on the annals of history. Where conflict or opposition to participation is found, she hears out the parties' concerns and seeks a collaborative resolution. At the least she informs Jaenelle to unsnarl the snarls, and otherwise lower hurdles, dazzles the reluctant, and employs the full, seductive force of her charms to just about deliver many a boat or crew to her patroness. Why not try to be the face that launched a hundred ships? (Hey, a thousand could be overkill.)

Having recently discovered a gift for communication laced with persuasion, Ophelia will use such an ability to speak to those of the Lyceum that may be wavering their support in regards to assisting the Archduchess and the calling of banners. The princess will travel throughout the Lyceum and speak to those both inside and outside of her social circle, drawing people in to help unite and support Jaenelle. Many know Ophelia to be overwhelmingly sweet and kind, but she is also adorably convincing when she sets her mind toward swaying an opinion -- such a heart-melting combination, how could /anyone/ say no to her? She will work tirelessly to see that the Lyceum is united with its support.

The Lyceum's fleet has been put in his care, so of course Antonio will see to all the necessary logistics to make sure said fleet is ready to sail on time, and be well supplied for the trip. In addition, in his capacity as admiral and minister of war, he's never stopped building up Lenosia's forces for such an occasion- both by using the shipyards he's had access to, as well continuing Lenosia's privateering program to capture and re-fit shav and pirate ships for Lenosia's usage. Lenosia's grounds forces have also been bolstered- new soldiers trained and experienced veterans coaxed out of retirement to join the battles. To that end, he was given a dragonweep gemstone by Jaenelle, to sell and use the proceeds for recruitment, in addition to Lenosia's considerable military forces.

Waldemai will accompany the Malvici fleet, sailing on Lord Domonico's ship The Tempest. Waldemai will provide skilled crafting support before and after the battle, repairing and improving armor and weapons for the troops and whatever can be done for the ships as well. An experienced soldier who led a company at Setarco and fought pirates under Lady Calypso, he will be fighting in any battles as well.

Saoirse spends the days, weeks, after Jaenelle calls the banners researching Lycene lore -- stories of different houses, of families, of wars past, love, loss, and moments of pride. Armed with scores of papers and mountains of books about each and every house -- from great to small -- Saoirse Velenosa begins a tour of the Lyceum with her family.

She arrives as a guest of great honor and spends her time in each region regaling the houses with stories of their histories, of how they came to be Lycene, of why they unite under Velenosa, and of anything pertinent that would so convince a house to lift their banners.

And with so much research, Saoirse comes to know an *awful lot* about Lycene lore, the players within it, and the players who play now. She uses her web of influence and her ability to spot intriguing connections between people and houses to convince the troops to rally -- and that may involve subtle manipulation between two fractious houses or reminders of favors granted.

A powerhouse of influence in her own right, Princess Valencia sets aside her misgivings for now to see that her House and the people of Lyceum -- noble and common alike -- are well supported, supplied, inspired and kept in high spirits. With seemingly no diplomatic means to end this threat, the little vixen of Lycene mobilizes her connections and adds her voice, resources and talents to the call for Lyceum and its allies to stand in solidarity, doing what is needed to summon strong support for the effort and her people at home and abroad.

As Minister of Civil Welfare she takes particular care to see that the homefront is well supported, prepared and protected. This way soldiers and those assisting in their noble work can focus on the fight at hand and Lyceum can firmly hold the line and remain protected from other foes while continuing to support the defense of the Mourning Isles. As a princess of Lycnene, she also quickly joins the others in their efforts to bolster, inspire and support the troops/fleet and their support units.

However, the little vixen doesn't stop there. Before the fleet even sets sail, a secret campaign of unrest and fear against Euris is also launched to sow seeds of uncertainty and dissent designed undermine the enemy and destroy them from within in an effort to gain advantage and, with luck, help to win the fight by peaceful means or not.

Silvio is using both his physical and diplomatic skills in the assistance of the Skal'dajan affair. He is able to disarm most people that he speaks with through the use of confounding and confusing ramblings, which are all expertly executed for that exact purpose. Manipulative and seductive, he gleefully submits himself to the mission and whatever tasks are assigned to him, even if it means his doom, such is his confidence. He's also fairly distracting and good for morale.

Strozza commands the forces of he First Fleet from the flagship Caravel the Erudite - providing transport for troops or harrier support should he call for such and Duchess Cambria can release him for such duties

Alejandro isn't a naval commander. His role is far more diplomatic and swings to the side of propaganda. Using his skills, he will charm whomever needs charming, work with whomever needs working with and will do what he can to smoothe the process for everyone involved and help make a successful Lycene effort successful.

There are scores of city-states underneath the banner of House Velenosa, and mobilizing the hundreds of ships and tens of thousands of sailors and soldiers from all across the Lyceum has normally taken months. This time, it does not take months. Through all of their efforts, the forces consolidate under Antonio's overall command in quite possibly the fastest mobilization in Lycene history, with templars and forces of the Faith militant picked up from hundreds of different rally points throughout the Compact. The massive Lycene fleet, far bigger than many expected since the departure of House Pravus, meets with the fleet of the Mourning Isle and sets sail for Sungreet.

Of course, while the speed is astonishing, the templars are only given landfall slightly before the arrival of the Eurusi. The Eurusi fleet declines to engage the combined forces of the Mourning Isles and the Lyceum, and bizarrely begins to fight among itself before roughly two thirds sail from Sungreet to the south and southwest. Which suggests an attack upon the Saffron, potentially.

Action by Marzio

(Public Action, OOC Date: Jan. 15, 2020, 3:59 a.m.)

The streets of Ostria will be filled with a grand military display in the first annual War Parade of the Hydra. The forces of the II Hydra Legion will be present in the streets of Ostria for a full week, where they will perform exhibits of military prowess from elaborate marching formations from foot soldiers as well as highly skilled and precision cavalry movements. The week will culminate in a day of military contests including swordsmanship, jousting, and archery. The goal of the weeklong events is to create an aura of prestige for the soldiers of the II Hydra Legion to encourage more citizens to enlist for training, and to instill a scenario where Ostria's children dream of the day they can join such an elite force as well.

Being a former Sword of, Knight of, and Infantry Commander of Gemecitta, Miranda knows what it means to give impressive demonstrations of fighting skills. Now, newly Mazetti and wife of the new Marshal, Ostria can benefit from her expertise. Along with a specialized group of soldiers, Miranda leads a team in a demonstration of fighting skills highlighting precision routines, impressive displays of technique and strength! It's all very coordinated, much like a synchronized swim team, but better with pointy swords, scimitars, and the colors of Mazetti in Gold, Blue, and White. Hydras are stylized upon the uniforms which are crisp and clean.

Cambria, though she will be present and visible during the parade itself, does most of her work behind the scenes. She manages the details, large and small, coordinates with the various points of contact, and in general makes certain that everything runs smoothly so that on the grand day itself, the parade goes off without a hitch. Only when one is fully prepared and ready to respond with back-ups can standing before the gathered citizens as a figure both serene and glorious be possible. And that is just what the Hydra of Ostria desires.

The people need to hear the voice of their Duchess and in this case they get a Voice of their Duchess. The Hydra of Ostria wants them! The fighting men and women of the Hydra Legions require their support and camaraderie! As the dangers of the world turn their attentions haphazardly about, Ostria must ever be prepared to defend the Walled City. He speaks of the honor given to House Mazetti for each who joins the ranks. He speaks of the honor those who join bring upon themselves and their families. He speaks of the compensation that those who serve are afforded; because sometimes it's simply silver that talks. He brings up the past Marshal of Ostria, Lord Valerio Mazetti, and his heroism. The newest Marshal of Ostria, Lord Marzio Mazetti, long may he prosper in his role as a defender of Ostria is also given ample acclaim from the ruling seat of Ostria. Hadrian speaks of the great work that Lord Marzio has undertaken as the General of the II Hydra Legion, which has formed the backbone of House Mazetti's military. While the Guardians of Ostria are highly selective of those who earn such a distinction and the Glaivedancers are chosen from birth, the Hydra Legions still require those patriots of Ostria ready to defend it against all who would dare lift a hand against it, but also those who wish to pursue peace through strength of arms. Overall Hadrian spends his time among the people, spinning words and promoting the perception among the people that to serve the Hydra is a worthy, honorable ambition. Maybe those who show themselves to be truly exemplary will even find themselves counted among the ranks of the elite and celebrated III Hydra Legion!

As Minister of Allegiance and a Guardian, Theron is fully behind the idea to gather military support. So he puts on a display of swordsmanship, and his Hydra Snakeskin armor. His meanuevers will not simply be from the style of duels, but of the first steps he learned as a Guardian. Strength. Control. Skill. Pride. All such things on display. He will also take some time to speak with recruits, and would-be recruits directly. Guardian secrets of course, not revealed.

Braith is a spinner of tales and words and easily uses what she has learned about the Mazetti to greatly embellish their good deeds. She sways the views by discussing the grand showing of the Duchy and its finely adorned military. The Duke and Duchess know best how to serve their people and make certain Ostria is safe. No one else could certainly do it better. Such poise and stoic stature from each well trained and hewn figure (no matter if they don't all match in size and don't march to the same beat all the time) they are impeccable specimen! True to the heart of the people and not only for Ostria but if ever the Compact needed, one could be certain the Duchy of Ostria would certainly provide and oh what a sight it would be!

Alessia, the self-professed face of the glaivedancers, will put on her typical performance for the masses in her striking snakeskin and steelsilk armor. In the hopes of boosting morale, admiration and also potentially luring recruits.

Vitalis is a man of physical poetry, coordination, movement, resonance. It is how he does what he does, the Ghost of Ostria, appearing where no one was, disappearing from plain sight, tracking across trackless wastes, slipping bonds, and living to tell. Those feats are impressive, but to the various martial displays, Vitalis adds his experience training others to do what he does, blunting any doubts harbored by those observing they 'could never do that.' He'll show them through courses and games focused on combat and elusion that, in fact... they very much can.

Strozza will be providing a display of the Ostrian Navy's skill and talent. Precision maneuvering off the coast, war-games reenacting military victories, ETC, all to show the vast capability of the fleet's skill to show how well Ostria is defended and grows in supremacy at sea.

Jaenelle has been planning to take a tour of the Lyceum for some time, and it is especially important now. Ostria is located in the Southern left hand side of the Lyceum, so it is perfectly positioned to start the tour off, and with Mazetti being recently elevated to a ducal house it is important for the people of Ostria to meet the Archduchess that their liege has sworn direct fealty to.

The beginning of Jaenelle's tour just so happens to coincide with War Parade of the Hydra so it is fortuitous that not only will Jae be entertained in watching the might of the Ostria people but she will be able to assist in the message of honor in serving and protecting, hope that in doing so peace will come to the Lyceum and Ostria, and the pride and prosperity that comes from the auspicious positions that those in House Mazetti's military are risen to. Should she call her banners, she wants them to know that she has witnessed their greatness and what they can accomplish.

To show her gratitude to Mouse Mazetti for hosting her in such grand fashion for the beginning of her tour, the Ostria military and those that have excelled in the War Parade's games, the Archduchess will aide in sponsoring the parade with a donation of one million silver to continue to show her support to the Ostria people even after she has departed for other areas on the Lyceum Tour.

The military parade is a smashing success. The columns of proud warriors in their best armor, marching in perfect rhythm, handsome smiles and gleams of pride in their Lycene eyes makes for a spectacular show. The newly appointed Marshal successfully gathers the forces of the II Hydra Legion and drills them until their moves are seamless and instinctive.

Miranda’s efforts in leading a demonstration of precision fighting garners plenty of awe and cheers, while Theron’s personal demonstration is met with equal raucous cheers. While Strozza’s sailors are limited to ground maneuvers, they still manage to inspire cheers with their rope tricks and nimble moves. Alessia’s glaivedancing inspires numerous youths, eyes made starry by the lithe show of grace and strength put on display. And for all those that might quail and think that they could never achieve such things for themselves, well, there is Vitalis offering on the fly instruction in small, achievable goals to inspire belief and motivate even the doubters to join ranks.

Hadrian and Braith work the crowd with stirring speeches, seeding rumors and whispers, increasing the sense of personal pride in the Mazetti. Cambria’s skills in organizing the routes, calculating needs and assessing risks and cost-benefit analysis ensures that while disruptive to day to day business, no one is excessively hindered by the event, creating far more goodwill than annoyance.

When Jaenelle appears, the crowd roars its approval of the Archduchess-Regent, clearly honored by the presence of the Princess that has come to embody all that is Lycene in manner, grace and style. So much so that few if any even recall that she was born to Thrax.

When all is said and done, Mazetti welcomes a healthy crop of new recruits, increasing the size of their infantry, pike, archers and cavalry but substantial numbers.

Action by Arman for Clan Stormstorm

(Public Action, OOC Date: June 26, 2019, 9:21 p.m.)

Prince Arman Velenosa the Heavy Hand of Lenosia arrived to the discussion alongside the march of the Velenosa Diplomatic Escort cavalry and each bannerman bore not only the colors of the House (or mercenary group) they represented, but also a swathe of white silk to indicate their intent of peace. Arman's demeanor did not imply his title. He was staunch as always, but there was a level of emphatic understanding that carried in the man's steps. There /must/ be peace. The other option is death. And so, this would be something along the lines of what Arman might say to those he meets with from Clan Stormstorm & Clan Wavewave, treating them with the same level of respect he would in any sort of diplomatic dispute be it between nobles, commoners and now... Abandoned:

"Despite the arrival of such a grand military force at my hind, I must emphasize that it is our great hope that this discussion does not result in violence, but it will take both sides to come to an amicable accord in order to avoid war. In that, I speak on behalf of House Velenosa, the ruling House of the Hundred Cities, as well as House Rubino & House Zaffria, the liege houses of Gemecitta.

Enough innocents have died in these disputes on /all/ sides. House Grover wishes to decimate your clans. We do not. We wish to offer refuge and a place your people may flourish and call home within the protection of the Greater Lyceum. Should you choose to bend the knee and join the Compact, House Rubino & House Zaffria is willing to offer sanctuary and that your cities may be maintained as part of their domain. It will be yours to control as you see fit barring your dictates abide by the common law of the Compact, the Faith and your liege lord who would be House Rubino & House Zaffria. We would also offer support and assist in establishing further protections to ensure the safety of your people and Gemecittan stone to help bolster your physical infrastructure in turn opening your people up to safe trade routes and trade arrangements with other denizens of the Compact. There have been many tribes in recent years to have bent the knee, in that we have a wealth of prior experience of both Prodigals and pillars of the Compact to assist your people with the transition in a less physical capacity should you choose to accept House Rubino & House Zaffria's offer & terms.

I know it can be difficult to make a change as great as this when the breadth of your people will be subjected to the decisions you make. I know because a similar weight rests upon my shoulders as a Prince of my House. I assure you, as a fellow 'decision maker' I truly believe this is the best option. I believe Clan Stormstorm & Clan Wavewave can have a better quality of life with us rather than against us and I implore you and yours to take this offer under heavy consideration.

That all said, I am sure you have both counter points and questions. I will do my best to answer them, whatever they may be..."

And he did just that! No matter the question, no matter if it was accusatory or otherwise, Arman did his best to answer any and all questions Clan Stormstorm & Clan Wavewave's diplomatic envoys may have had.

The diplomatic team leaned heavily on the aid of the translators present, looking to them for information on how best to gracefully combat any negative propaganda passing through the ranks of the Abandoned in their native dialect as well as pinpointing dissenters in case they needed to be dealt with in the future.

((Assistant Categories: Protection, Diplomatic Team, Translator. Please make sure you tag your assist at the beginning with the category it falls under so staff can see at a glance exactly what role everyone is playing is!))

Duchess Grazia will be providing economic and social incentives for the Abandoned to join under her rule. Although she won't directly be part of the diplomatic team, she will be providing them with support and resources to use to lure in the Abandoned peacefully. She's made it clear to the diplomats that she's not above some bribery when it comes to adding people to Gemecitta.

Tthe Red Wolf Battalion of the Crimson Blades have come to provide protection, first and foremost. This is, after all, Arman's operation. He isn't there to threaten Clan Stormstorm as much as deter them from taking any sudden military action, which would no doubt result in a bloody end. Mostly what the Battalion will be doing is providing support and defense to the diplomatic team, stationing themselves near enough to respond immediately to any violent consequence.

Harlex himself, after he gives out the orders to the Battalion, will be accompanying the diplomatic team. The Sword of Lenosia acting as bodyguard for both the royalty present and the other peerage. It should probably make every feel safer, which will make them better at their jobs, which will hopefully lead to peace! Then again, if not, Mirror Blade and its wielder will do what they do best.

Fingers crossed!

Mailys might not speak Lyceum Shav, but she's definitely a charmer, and hopefully that's enough! Most Arvani speak Arvani, after all, so not knowing Shav isn't realllllly a problem. Mailys is following much the same tactics as Maja, too. She's a commoner, and she knows what it's like to have a life torn from you and having to pick up the pieces. She -has- picked up the pieces, though, and she did it with the Velenosa and the Lyceum. She'll do her absolute best to bring the leaders of Stormstorm around, and she won't shy away from the rest of the tribe, either. Let those in power hobnob and plot things. Mailys will make sure the rest are taken care of.

(Diplomatic) What a fine parade of hoity-toity nobles that has rolled in to tell the clans how great it will be to serve as vassals beneath peers positioned above them on the social food chain! PFFT! Well, that /might/ be how the clans see things -- so Maja is here to offer a commoner's take on living within the Compact and why they should consider it. Sure, there are rules. Yes, they'd be giving up some of their freedoms. But! BUT! Swearing fealty and living under Compact rule offers safety and protection. Plus? There are many -- MANY -- opportunities to be had for those savvy enough to capitalize on them. Take Maja, for example. She started off as nothing -- a forgotten casualty of a bum lot in life, living in a Lowers orphanage -- but now look at her: one of the most notable names in Arx, rolling in riches, apprentice to the Whisper House. Maja will try to get some alone time with the clan leaders, a tete-a-tete without the looming influence of the nobles so they can feel free to ask her whatever they want without having to tip-toe through a social minefield and she can answer them with real talk and offer them her honest perspective. It's all still charming AF, of course -- because Maja cannot help but be oh-so-likable and oh-so-personable no matter who she is speaking with or what she is speaking about. Trustworthy and authentic, that's her! There will be booze. There will be jokes. There will be -- wink-wink -- casual flirting. But most of all, there will be true facts laid out in a way that (hopefully) they can relate to best. Basically, her time with them comes down to this:

Living within the Compact: come for the protection, stay for the limitless opportunities.

Step 1: join the Compact
Step 2: gain protection for your people
Step 3: ??
Step 4: PROFIT

(Translator/Diplomatic) Thorn is a strange translator choice in that she doesn't speak Lycene Shav, but because she speaks Eurusi. Always be prepared though! For the most part though the easily over looked commoner is an observer, watching the abandoned to get a sense of their social structures, and if there's an opportunity to engage with the people at the edges of the abandon's social heirarchy she does, to see if with a few drinks she can find out what their gripes are with their Clans are.

Saoirse appears at her father's side during his initial entreaty; she rides silent on her steed, carefully taking in the numbers of Wavewaves and Stormstorms.

She listens, as much as one can listen, to the foreign languages of the shavs from that distance.

And then she rides away.

Instead of treating with the clans of Stormstorm and Wavewave, Saoirse pulls to the noble men and women of the Lyceum in the region - to the vassals who have been dealing with these raids. She uses her wit, her silky personality, and, of course, her position as a Velenosa to treat with those noble houses. Whatever she may have gleaned -- if nothing else, the number of clansmen (or, in the event she gleaned nothing, carefully weighing her words) to coax the peers to the idea that the two clans, should they be accepted, would be members of their liege lord's fealty. After all, why should our current nobility go un-wooed? Shouldn't they too be given diplomatic envoys; they weren't shavs to begin with!

(Diplomatic) When Prince Arman speaks of the military at his heels, he clearly does not mean Lady Tyche Inverno. She is not a warrior, not a fighter, simply a noblewoman of the Lyceum, come along as evidence of the promise of diplomacy. She is here to work with the leaders of Clan Stormstorm by Prince Arman’s side toward a solution that does not end in bloodshed. Along with the rest of the diplomatic forces, her goal is to help Clan Stormstorm see that bending the knee is the best option for their people, and that a peaceful resolution to the crisis under the Compact is a wiser political and sociological move than being pulled to war. Should negotiations turn south, Tyche has no misconceptions about her own lack of physical prowess, and will leave the matters of defense to the Crimson Blades.

Miranda knows Lycene-Shav and will be translator for Prince Arman and his entourage. That is her primary role. If need be, she can protect the delegation if negotiations go sideways, but that is not her primary goal.

There are many tools at a diplomat's disposal when it comes to convincing the other side of how the offer on the table is beneficial for them as much as it is for the other. Some use charming smiles and flattery. Others speak in the way of gold and silver. And then there's Emrys. He does not seek to charm, seduce, corrupt or buy. No, he is polite, as a Whisper should, and speaks calmly to the Shav'arvani who have joined the Prince's party to speak of diplomacy. He speaks of the Compact, of its strength, of its recent efforts to take in Shav'arvani much like themselves as Prodigals, and as such see it and its people prosper. He speaks of the Compact's might, and how it has withstood previous conflicts and struck lethal blows against its enemies and those that might seek to harm it. And it is in these talks and discussions that are weaved glimpses of what awaits refusal to join the Compact in friendship. The sword, and annihilation. Clan Stormstorm is strongly advised to not risk the latter.

Diplomatic Team, Translator. As an ally of House Rubino-Zafira and loyal Velenosian, Lucita willingly makes time to try to ease discord and strengthen her allies. While she may not know a lot of languages, she has become fluent with the Lycene dialect and has used the skill successfully in communicating with Shav's near Saikland in persuading them to bent knee to her in the past. Those who have bent knee seem content with the way they have been included in Saikland and the Baroness who kept her word to try to protect and assist them. A few of these prodigals, as civilians, accompany her to help verify her comments to the Stormstorm group. She combines the abilities to translate with diplomacy to contribute to this effort. While she wears her armor as convenience for traveling and usually has a dagger and hairpins with her, she is relying on the military provided by others should difficulties arise and presents herself as part of the diplomatic effort, not aggressive or militaristic.

((Diplomatic Team, Translator)) There's a reason that Hadrian set himself long ago to the task of picking up the ability to hold a conversation with others in Lycene dialects of the shav'arvani language: because it's always wise to have the ability to communicate with your neighbors. Language is a means of establishing initial common ground and Hadrian puts that to full use, acting as both a translator for the diplomatic team as well as utilizing that learned ability to converse with his potential new-found friends in their own language, for their own comfort and as his show of respect for their people.

Relying on his safety at the hands of others, Hadrian sets himself to the task of extending diplomatic offers to House Stormstorm. It's not just those who are open to the potential that Hadrian extends his efforts toward though. Every culture will have hardliners and it is those that Hadrian invests as much of his attention as he is able. It is they that he seeks to charm not only through force of personality, but an acknowledgment of their own customs and the importance of their identity being intact should they choose to join under the collective that is the Compact.

He points to the distant north and those who have bent the knee their. He speaks on the topic of shamanism and how even today within the Compact, such beliefs are considered acceptable so long as the Pantheon is likewise embrace. In short he offers assurances that while their future may change, their culture itself is not under attack - so long as it does not act counter to the Faith of the Pantheon. He doens't lie, he doesn't manipulate. Hadrian makes it a point to be utterly honest with the people of Clan Stormstorm. Change will come because that is simply how life works, but it is within the power of Clan Stormstorm to guide that change rather than have it levied upon them.

He seeks to win over those who are most adamantly against that change, warming them over with integrity and honesty. He's none too shy about imparting gifts which may be construed as examples of prosperity that can be found among the Compact. House Rubino-Zaffria holds a place of strength and influence within the Lyceum and the Compact he explains, so there would be few finer potential liege lords.

(Diplomatic Team) At Hadrian's side, Cambria supplements her husband's strategy with cunning examples of what makes being part of the Compact worth anyone's while. While not able to communicate directly, she relies on the translators of the team to make her pitches known.

(( Protection )) Antea will be accompanying the Diplomatic Team along with Hydra Legion II to help ensure that should things turn towards violence, that there will response in kind. She will be be staying with the forces to ensure leadership of the forces that isn't up on the front lines. She will also be ensuring that the soldiers are kept occupied and calm so there's less chance of any 'mistakes' that provoke fighting from their end. Antea will work in collaboration with Harlex to ensure battleplans are in place for any number of possibilities, including retreat should peaceful resolution be achieved.

(Protection Team) The Sword of Ostria goes where he is needed and useful. Especially if both the Marquessa and Marquis want to go out to play. Protecting their honor and health means protecting the party's health as well. This includes the health of the Clans in case of exterior threat. Theron is not there to talk, he is there to protect others and look pretty.

(Diplomatic Team) Riding behind Uncle Arman with Saoirse nearby, Gaspar was the one those who looked for..slightly less formality turned to and found. He was finely dressed and well kept, but his crooked grin and casual posture in the saddle set the counter of stoicism from his uncle.

Gaspar would follow his cousin, more practiced in true affairs of state, to speak with each of the local nobles in turn. He would talk of anything and everything, making plenty of time for chit-chat for the more nervous to break the ice, get right to the business for those who had little time for games. Each noble's voice was different and each want to hear things just as differently. That was the game; finding each bolt to tighten just enough to make it secure without stripping it. Some would be woo'ed, others would be wow'ed, but acceptance of the idea was what mattered. Not mere tricks and fanciful words. Gaspar intended to show that, just as he was different among his family members, so too would the clans be different, yet still able to be accepted, within the Rubino and Zaffria lands and laws.

There's good news and bad news.

The good news is it is a diplomatic triumph. Most in the Lyceum fully expected it to be a bloodbath, and worse than that, for Clan Stormstorm and Wavewave to remain problems for years to come, as any slaughter of their envoys would just result in years and years of campaigns to hunt down every last one of their hidden bastions from which they launch raids. But despite surprisingly large escort forces that the Abandoned clans bring to the field as they negotiation, Warchief Wilbur the Excessive of Clan Stormstorm is ready to talk. The lack of violence would in and of itself be a clear success, but Warchief Wilbur the Excessive and Clanlord Rufus Wavewave listen attentively to the many pleas and arguments about joining the Compact, the compelling benefits, and Stormstorm is willing to bend the knee to Gallo and Wavewave to Groverfield.

The bad news is the terms.

"Well. As long as we can keep our thralls, obviously." They knew thralldom was still practiced in the Isles, so they didn't think it would be a major problem or roadblock, as both Clans have routinely punished crimes (and taken prisoners) with thralldom. They just assumed it would still be fine. They imagine the Lyceum and Crownlands would make an exception for them, wouldn't they? If keeping thralls is not possible, Wilbur and Rufus calculate the costs, and they are certain they could pay all the thrall fees, relocate all their strongholds, pay for the indemnities owed from their raids for 9,999,999 silver and 99 copper bits. It's under ten million, you see.

Clan Stormstorm and Clan Wavewave will halt raids during the negotiation process of bending the knee, but it's an exceedingly awkward request.

Action by Jyri(RIP) for The Great Road Crisis

(Public Action, OOC Date: Feb. 17, 2019, 3:30 p.m.)

As consul of Arvum Refugee Relief Group, Jyri is not one to be idle. In fact, he might be doing things a bit too fast sometimes, but he sees little point in waiting around while people suffer, and if he can do something, he will do it. This mission, under the (literal) banner of ARRG (he's made one, based off a painting he's made), is something that he feels strongly about. However - he really can't do this alone because he is not a diplomat. Hence...

Jyri gathers a team of diplomats, healers, empaths and soldiers who will go out and talk to refugees along the great road, abandoned ones particularly but others too if there are any. Abandoned refugees will be given an offer: bend the knee, swear fealty to the Compact, and they will be given quite a few good options.

1. Move to Stahlben lands - the Stahlbens are willing to take refugees on and give them homes and work.
2. Move to Laurent lands - Laurent house too has offered to take in refugees and offer homes and work.
3. Those of an agricultural bent (farmers, crafters) can move to Igniseri lands as Countess Quenia is in need of workers. They will be provided homes.
4. Soldiers can apply to join the Iron Guard, assuming they get through the vetting process.

Families will not be split up and groups will be moved with their tribal affiliations in mind as much as possible. They're not choiceless and will be listened to, even if there is a hard demand on them to bend the knee before being offered new homes.

To ensure this meets with some success, he won't be the one doing the talking if he can help it; that's why he's asked the experts to help with this. He will lead the group, he will protect them (and bring some hired guards along), and he can tell any Shav'arvani about his own experiences as an ex refugee who has joined the compact, but smooth talking is not his forte.

Additionally, a lot of resources and silver will be poured into it. The refugees will be well fed and equipped with good basic gear if they are lacking (even those that do not want to bend the knee will be given this.) Medical supplies will be provided too, for those that are hurt or sick, as much as they can be helped. The ARRG has received a fair few donations in a raffle and through the Whitehawk Charity shop, which is put into this endeavour.

An adventure upon the Great Road in order to bring peace and prosperity throughout Arvum! That's the dream and the ambition, anyway. There are people in need... there are people out there who aren't necessarily in need, but no less need to be given the good word of the Compact. Marquis-Consort Hadrian Mazetti is there to support Lord Jyri Whitehawk's efforts. To speak to the Abandoned about the virtues of the Arvum Refugee Relief Group(ARRG), the works they've done thus far in settling those returned to the Compact and even those citizens of the Compact, into new homes. Fluent in the shav'arvani dialects of the Lyceum and Oathlands, he lends his aid in that manner. Acting as both a translator and hosting more direct communication between himself and those they encounter. He lays on the charm, of course, because that's what Hadrian Mazetti do... but neither does he lie to these people - he's honest that reintegrating into the Compact can have challenges that one must face and overcome. He points to Lord Jyri Whitehawk as a success story, points to other renowned Prodigals within the Compact in recent years who have distinguished themselves with service to the Compact, the Pantheon, and more.

He would be remiss not to include mention of the many Prodigals which joined the banners of House Mazetti with the threat of the Pirate King on the horizon and how they have prospered under Mazetti rule, under the auspice of the Compact. He, again, is not above being honest and forward in mentioning that while the Prodigals under House Mazetti (and many other Houses, no doubt) have prospered, so too have those lands and noble Houses which the Prodigals have bent the knee to. A House, its lands, and cultures are people. From high to low, it takes all working together to create a brighter future, which is what is on offer. A chance to work together through shared dreams, mutual cooperation, and an eagerness to forge a better (and perhaps bolder) future for all.

Ever eager to prove she's more than a mere character on a stage in a pretty costume, the actress-turned-diplomat Evonleigh Whitehawk is happy to speak to the Abandoned and other Refugees. She speaks persuasively on the behalf of her fellow Whitehawk Jyri, the Compact, and the houses Stahlben and Laurent, lauding the merits of their lands and the security of life under their protections. Lady Evonleigh uses her charms, as ever, but her recent experiences with diplomacy have taught her a bit more about knowing how to approach different groups of people -- what approach will work best, which to steer away from, when to change approaches, etc. Evonleigh will rely too on her knowledge of Crownlands Shav, to pick up any tidbits here or there while they travel, or to use when she thinks showing she can speak it might earn her a point or two in her favor. And she'll play with the children, teaching them here

Cambria lends her aid to Jyri's grand effort. As they travel the Great Road, she does her best to promote those key points that all are hoping to drive home to those who are either uncertain, or against what is being proposed.

Lothar is, of course, ready and willing to help when the call comes; he's there to help protect the other envoys as they travel out along the road, though it happens that his own life serves well as an example of the benefits of bending the knee and accepting the light of the Gods into your life, particularly Gild.

Mina has been doing a lot of work for the Iron Guard, it's a lot of talking and soothing bruised egos, but it's something she loves doing. Amicable outcomes are extremely satisfying, but improving a group of people's lives would be even better. After hearing about Lord Jyri's raffle, she dumped quite a bit of her resources gained from her work into it to help out with the refugee problems. It didn't hurt that there was a beautiful painting up for grabs, either.

When Lord Jyri offered the country bumpkin a place in the group to reach out to the refugees she could hardly believe it. She could change people's lives by just using her silver tongue. It's never too difficult for the farm girl, the promise of something good along with a cheery demeanor and some flattery would convince many a listener. And Mina certainly had a cheery demeanor, she was so excited to talk with them and greet them with all of the stories of how so many of the people of Arx, nobles included, welcomed and helped her get settled in. Surely some first hand experience with relocation would be beneficial.

If there's any arena in which Isabeau might arguably excel, it's matters of diplomacy. Accordingly, she will accompany Lord Jyri's small contingent of those looking to persuade any Abandoned refugees to consider bending the knee, joining the Compact, and settling in House Laurent's lands. As it so happens, she is versed in Oathlander shav'arvani slang, and may even be able to communicate with them in their own tongue.

Happy to help try to bring hope and healing to anyone, Elora joins Jyri and the others. While they work on the democratic style dealings, she will focus her efforts on looking after the sick, both animal and human alike. She'll make sure that nyone who might want aid will get it, along with offering a little teachings on their own methods of first aid to help the healers and medicine people learn more methods.

Quenia talks about the benefits of being part of the compact, and a community that absorbs other people in their environment. She speaks to the work that she did with the former Thraxian thralls, taking those that wanted new homes and lives into House Igniseri as well as giving them jobs, homes, and a solid way to live their lives on their own terms within the confines of the law. She tells them of the project that she has that's up and coming, building a large agricultural center - which should take quite some time to complete - and offers those that wish jobs and homes within the compact to come work for House Igniseri, provided of course they bend the knee. She promises they'll have a safe place to live, and additional work even after the ag center project is completed. Additionally, she will provide safe passage via ship to make the travel load for those that want to go to Arx, Granato, Artshall or Bonespire much shorter than traveling completely over land.

Rather than attempting to sway hearts and minds with logical arguments and compelling oratory, Tabitha will act to gather information that the real diplomats can make use of. She'll talk with respect and kindness to the Abandoned refugees, with the aim of using her natural empathy to discern their interest and concerns relating to joining the Compact. The idea here is to listen carefully, and to pass on her findings to the diplomats so that they can use them to figure out the best approaches to their task, and hopefully apply some diplomatic damage limitation to the endevour in advance. Misunderstandings between the Compact and the Abandoned have been an issue in the past, after all. Tabitha also speaks Crownlands shav'arvani, so hopefully this will be of use.

The amount of suffering on the Great Road for different Abandoned is immense, and Jyri on behalf of the Arvum Refugee Relief Group leads a successful effort to relieve that, though it's not without complications.

Most Abandoned traditionally flee or fight on any contact with the Compact, and most bend the knee really only after defeats, but these diplomatic efforts have a higher percentage of success, particularly when Evonleigh and Isabeau help speak to them. Some groups still refuse and flee, particularly ones with heretical beliefs that they simply will not Abandon in order to join the Compact, but it's a much larger amount that settles to Stahlben, Laurent, Mazetti or Igniseri lands than most have accomplished, and a significant number that choose to move towards Arx look to join the Iron Guard. Hadrian, Cambria, Quenia help ease the transition to the different lands, and Tabitha, Elora, Mina and Lothar help keep them safe in transit, which is no easy task.

The biggest danger, of course, is that some of the traditionalist factions that object to -any- Abandoned becoming prodigals, and associate houses friendly to refugees as extremely friendly towards Abandoned, but that will be happening regardless for any outreach efforts.

Action by Isabeau for The Lodge of Petrichor

(Public Action, OOC Date: Sept. 30, 2018, 10:18 a.m.)

The time has come once again to rally allies from all avenues to defend Arx. Princess Isabeau Valardin will be spearheading an effort to ensure that it is not only the noble commanders and generals who are rallied, but also the soldiers, crafters, and stewards; smallfolk of all stripes. She will invoke whatever power and sway she might have as the Voice of House Valardin and a very persuasive speaker besides. She will not do this alone, of course, as no single noble could hope to rally an entire city such as Arx... but, perhaps, a selection of its more influential leaders might.

Hadrian Mazetti's out in force... at least as far as charm, good humor, and a sly wink here or there will take him. He's out to spread the word among the various Houses, crafters, mercenary companies, and other figures which may not have fallen under the collective embrace of the Compact's efforts. The Lodge of Petrichor, and thus the investments of the Crown and Compact, are under threat. A threat that could easily snowball into a threat directed at the rest of the Compact should the defense at the Lodge of Petrichor fail miserably. Whether through sheer force of personality, utilizing his reputation, calling in favors, or constructing a compelling bit of oration to inspire others to aid in the defense. Friends, countrymen, lords and ladies, lend me your ears! Let's all not risk inevitable slavery and step up to defend the Compact against this new threat now rather than later, shall we? The Lodge of Petrichor and its defenders need support, from the highest to the low. Materials, financial backing, capable sword arms, and all the rest. Answer the call for the Compact and humanity!

In order to assist the war effort, Cambria Mazetti has joined forces with Isabeau Valardin. She brings her own strength of personality to the table. She speaks to those who may be uncertain of how they can help, and appeals to others who may be undecided on whether or not this matter is as grave as word on the street seems to claim. All hands are needed, and every effort, no matter how seemingly small, is important.

Princess Isabeau Valardin, along with Marquessa Cambria and Marquis Hadrian, work hard at emphasizing that very point. They note how beneficial the Lodge has been to the people of the Compact over the last several years. How it has provided refuge, a place for people to learn about the lands and the animals that traverse it. How it has been a place for communion with Petrichor. How shamans too find solace in the grove of ancient trees north of the Lodge. How it has been a staging point for the Compact forces as well. With each word dropped they emphasize how important this Lodge is, and how much a part of Arx and its people it truly is, and so even if the people aren't entirely sure why the Lodge needs to be defended, even the average person starts to think it's smart to protect such a valuable place.

Action by Hadrian

(Public Action, OOC Date: July 26, 2018, 1 a.m.)

Marquis-Consort Hadrian Mazetti has began a campaign of expansion on behalf of Ostria and House Mazetti. Prior to the direct conflict with the Gyre and his forces, House Mazetti had reached out to a number of allies and potential allies. Among those potential allies the eye of House Mazetti and Ostria now turns, through the Voice of Marquessa Cambria Mazetti.

Leading up to the war with the Gyre, House Mazetti had extended an offer of fealty to many Abandoned tribes at the borders of Ostria and beyond. Some tribes accepted and now thrive within a growing Ostria, some had consented to an honor duel to decide the matter with varying results, and others had simply politely declined the offer. House Mazetti acted with honor and, some may say dignity, in respecting the choice of those who did not wish to partake in the coming conflict. That particular conflict has passed and the Compact has emerged victorious, so the time is now for House Mazetti to extend the olive branch to those who had shown (polite) reluctance in the past.

To begin with Hadrian will be seeking the aid of capable diplomats and others. Along with that enlistment of skilled individuals, Hadrian will seek out among the Prodigal population in Ostria those who have prospered throughout the economic boom that the city-state has experienced through sound investments, commerce, and more. He will request the aid of these Prodigals in reaching out to those tribes in which the diplomatic campaign will come in contact with, speaking of their own experiences as Prodigals within Ostria and the Compact, along with their successes thus far.

Even soldiers from the banners of House Mazetti will march with the diplomatic party, under strict orders that they will only be acting within a defensive capacity under the command of Lord Valerio Mazetti, the Marshal of Ostria. The ranks of the II Hydra Legion are brought along as a show of support not for the diplomatic party but for those tribes which the diplomatic conducts their efforts with. Hadrian will makes it a point to remind those Abandoned tribes which they deal with throughout the campaign that the Hydra stands ready to defend those who come beneath their banner and join with the Compact through House Mazetti. The evidence is before their very eyes: The Hydra has an army that is battle experienced, known for being territorial, and stands ready to offer aid to those who accept the offer of protection, fealty, and more.

The ultimate message is simple. House Mazetti and Ostria stands ready to provide protection and more to the Abandoned who are willing to swear fealty upon Limerance to Marquessa Cambria Mazetti and her House, thereby joining the Compact. Those offers which meet with success? Hadrian will then attempt to use those successes as something of a domino effect. Utilizing the new Prodigals to act as diplomats with Abandoned tribes who they have peaceful relations with, all in the interest of creating a cascade of oaths sworn in fealty to House Mazetti for the betterment of all involved.

For those which stand ready to refuse the peaceful offer, the Sword of House Mazetti in the form of Lord Theron Mazetti will be asked to represent the House in order to decide the matter once and for all. These duels will be held honorably, without the threat of death or open warfare as any manner of stipulation. They are meant to prevent such things from taking place and thus House Mazetti will conduct itself honorably and present these duels as nothing more than to first blood. As with any duel where deadly weapons are involved, accidents do happen. In the event of any such accidents occur, House Mazetti will provide compensation as a show of good faith in the form of silver and goods. This, of course, is just another clever veil in the diplomatic dance designed to entice the Abandoned into recognizing that House Mazetti will treat them reasonably and fairly. They are Lycene after all.

Hail Hydra.

As a steadfast ally of House Mazetti and a skilled diplomat, Princess Isabeau Valardin will use her bountiful charm, masterful manipulation, and expert skill in propaganda to encourage those Abandoned deemed worthy to bend the knee under the banners of House Mazetti.

<This space left blank.>

As the Countess of Escuma, Arcelia pulls her resources to assist her Hadrian. An army suddenly marching towards you is not an ideal situation because they would be strictly bending the knee out of fear. As such, Arcelia takes a smaller group (Mercies, Soldiers, Disciples that speak Lycene Shav, etc from Escuma) with her to do some mission work ahead of time. She will bring care packages of food, seeds, medicine, and other important essentials to them and ask for nothing in return except that they let them stay for a few weeks. They will simply act as servants to that tribe in that they will help do chores around their settlement, tell them about what its like living in The Compact, let the Disciples tell them about the Gods, and then at night carelessly party with them. The intention here is that when the rest of the diplomats get here and the army arrives they will have a more positive foundation to work with.

Cambria brings to the table her experience in a leadership capacity, so that Hadrian's expertise in diplomacy is most aptly utilized by bringing together all the right people are brought together under one umbrella of authority. It sounds more luxurious than it in truth is, as much of it involves paperwork, matters of logistics, knowing who will work with whom and the like, all the way down to signing off on how much feed for pack animals must be brought. Her work, therefore, is largely behind the scenes, though she herself does not remain an elusive figure. On the forefront of the project, she makes sure to be both seen and heard by those she works alongside of...and especially those she hopes to sway to the cause.

Alessia brings her martial skills to the table in the event that things go awry despite attempts at diplomacy. Her role will also be to display her abilities as a glaivedancer to the Abandoned via defensive and offensive drills ran by her uncle in the hopes of bolstering the reputation of the Guardians while also honing her own skills during the diplomatic endevour. In addition, she'll offer whatever aid she can to her cousins as they aim to gain the fealty of the Abandoned.

Valerio is always very much of the mind that if one wishes peace, they must prepare for war. However, he is content to let the diplomats be diplomats and keeps Guardians at the ready in the event of failure. Given the unique task at hand, Valerio continually rotates his current Guardian detail into drills. His purpose behind this is to keep the Guardians battleready just in case, but to show the Abandoned just what Guardians can do. Valerio will run both defensive and offensive drills to show the Abandoned just how well Ostrians are protected, and just how well Ostria will go after their enemies.

Marquis Hadrian Mazetti has asked my assistance in dealing with his land and population expansion around Ostria and having abandoned tribes bend the knee. Lucita applies her Lycene Slav linguistics ability, her charm and her propaganda skills in methods that were successfully used in the Saikland land expansion to assist in his effort. She invites some of the Abandoned who seem content and to be adjusting very well to joining the Compact and Saikland to accompany her so the Ostria area tribes can see that protection and fair treatment is given from some who were just like them. .

Diplomacy, word of mouth advertisement, duels, military might - there seems to be someone covering each of these. But who is out there showing what Arvani culture can really produce? Why not the Champion Whisper? As loud and brash as she can be, Bliss knows how to put on a good show and play to her audience. And so she travels among the Abandoned tribes of Ostria with the Mazettis et al, carousing, singing, and performing far flashier duels than the likes House Swords might do - and for far lower stakes. She's here to put on a show and get these people to see how much /fun/ life in the Compact can be, and win hearts and minds over that way. Everyone else has the finer details of integration covered, after all.

(That and they were really too busy to go on a shav-killing campaign with the Pirate King threatening) But now that war is over, and the Mazetti forces are back, and they've got that same look on their face. That "let's talk about fealty to the Compact" look.

And so Marquessa Cambria and Marquis Hadrian, along with their family - Lord Theron, Sword of Mazetti and Lady Alessia in particular - travel with their military forces, with Lord Theron and Valerio in command. They reach Ostria and bring the diplomats to the forefront. They've asked some of their allies, Princess Isabeau, Countess Arcelia, Baroness Lucita, and Bliss Whisper to join them as well, reaching out to those who were previously reluctant. With a savvy mixture of inherent threat from the military and diplomatic overtures by the rest, it presents a particularly Lycene offer - and people respond, expanding Ostria as these shavs bend the knee.

Action by Orvyn

(Public Action, OOC Date: July 1, 2018, 11:06 p.m.)

With the travel to Arx and rebuilding, renovating, and cleaning of the Harthall Keep, there has been little opportunity to focus on the current affairs at Fair Harbour. Now that the Keep is in proper working order and the Trade office has been open for business, the Harthall family can get back to the management of Fair Harbour. Utilizing the new relations that they have all made throughout Arx and with the knowledge that they have gained of the current events, it is possible for them reach out with the individual specialties to generate the best possible outcome for growth of the March.

The Marquis Orvyn Harthall will be overseeing the economic impact and nuances that are needed in governing such a large project, ensuring that routes are made open, payment is taken care of and both new and existing methods of commerce are best applied to ensure overall success. He will work with the various trade captains and merchants in the employ of House Harthall to find the best rate for goods and services that they will need in the building of new homes, new farms, and travel costs. He will put forward the call to others of the Harthall family to take part and offer their expertise in their individual fields of study so as to best move the March forward to a brighter and more secure future.

With his family once more focusing on the growth of their March, Islin will be devoting some of his time to helping them. As he serves as one of the Captains in their fleet he will have his ship making regular runs both with and without him, mainly to patrol, make supply runs and insure that the supply lines stay open. He will focus mainly on his strengths the military and economic aspects of the family business, doing what he can to assist.

Though no longer enjoying the privileges or protections of lordship, Sir Brannen is lending his mind for martial leadership to House Harthall. Specifically, Brann will be actively helping to access Fair Harbour militant's needs and daily mechanisms. He'll concentrate on streamlining military procedures, maintaining productivity while trimming unnecessary spending. He will do this with as grim and worrisome an expression as possible.

Not sailor, nor economic advisor, Liliana chooses a different path to take. She is good at procuring things, and list-making to make certain all the things are purchased. She will draw up lists of all the things a good household needs, from dishes to bedding, from spices to horseshoes, from nails to hammers, from anvils to horse feed, from horses to chickens, from bandages to buckets.. and so forth. She's seeking to purchase all the things that they'll need right away until the settlements become self-sustaining.

Lists in hand, off she'll go to do what she does best: shop! She'll scour the city of Arx for merchants willing to provide quality goods at discounted prices due to volume and future business. She pays well, despite requesting discounts, to have everything carted down to the docks and stored in warehouses for transport upon Islin's ship, and others in the fleet.

Additionally, she knows the lands where she grew up like the back of her hand. She'll suggest potential places for settlement that are near travel routes (likely rivers) with sunny plains for planting, and woods nearby for timber and hunting.

Action: Marquessa Consort Sunniva Harthall is a woman of heart and passion and belief in her family and their holdings. They have the room and the ability to take on more people and give them a place to find a home. She begins by speaking to the refugees that have been gathering in Arx and expounding upon the benefits of relocating to Fair Harbour and the isles owned by the Harthall March. She will speak of her belief that everyone has a place and a purpose and that Harthall welcomes all those who wish for a purpose and a prosperous life with the opportunity to find a stable place to live.

Marquis Hadrian doesn't rule over House Harthall. He's not even a vassal of the Oathland's House. What he is though is connected, socially and economically, through his own House. So while he can not speak for House Harthall, he can certainly speak OF them. Taking on a support role within the endeavors of Marquis Orvyn Harthall and House Harthall, Hadrian plans to speak with a number of other influential members of society - particularly within the world of finance and commerce. The message is clear: House Harthall is making efforts to drive trade toward Fair Harbour and they have his vote of confidence.

Within that effort, Hadrian will likewise be working to promote greater trade relations between Ostria and Fair Harbour. In the midst of rubbing elbows and directing further commerce toward Fair Harbour, so too does Hadrian make efforts to bring further trade to the ports and gates of the city-state of Ostria. Economic wealth, after all, promotes growth. And Ostria's in need of another ring or two of walls!

Cambria is the other half to Hadrian's plans to promote Harthall and Fair Harbor. Whereas he applies the oil to the proverbial gears, she oversees operations to make sure the right person is in the right place, or the right goods at the right price. Promoting good relations between Ostria and Fair Harbor benefits each, and in turn, the Compact at large.

Marquis Orvyn Harthall has turned his hand to his lands with stunning focus. In trade and in advantageous dealings he has amassed a massive amount of resources that he, with single-minded purpose, immediately invests into the March - particularly surrounding improvements to Fair Harbour.

Lord Islin helps him now, devoting his time to train and strengthen their naval base. Sir Brannen leads military drills and training on land. Lady Liliana lends an organizational hand, and Marquessa Sunniva speaks of how close the Harthall family holds their responsibility to build and protect their domain and their people.

Marquis Hadrian and Marquessa Cambria, not to be left out, spend time reaching out to praise the entire Harthall family and to hold them up as examples to all. Overall though, the work speaks for itself as Fair Harbour is positively thriving, even in the dead of winter.

Action by Venturo for Raconteur Enterprises

(Public Action, OOC Date: June 1, 2018, 4:52 p.m.)

Venturo is drumming up business with a variety of the fine houses of Arvum. Specifically, he's working with them to craft trade deals that will result in the lease of lands in the houses domains to create breweries and cultivate local crops. Additionally, he will be starting the establishment of The Kismet Carnival, a festival in each of these geographical locations, one that does honor to the Raconteur name: games of chance, and small entertaining stories played out by showmen, acrobats and more. These small snippets and games are all too appeal to the everyday man.

Venturo's role in this endeavor, beyond pulling together the group that is helping, will be pulling all of his old strings to call in favors. Builders, performers, merchant, tradesmen and the like that he can use to help align the endeavor for success.

It is no secret Khanne has enjoyed the brews and stories of Master Brewer Venturo Thayne. So when he came to her with an opportunity that would bring his talents to her lands while helping to show the rest of the Compact some of the best aspects of Halfshav lands, she jumped at the chance. She helps him find a good spot in the city of Whitehold to open a brewery and not too far away from that, a parcel of farmland to grow the unique ingredients that can thrive in the tundra climate. Of course, she would work into the agreement the caveat that he must always offer some variety of Whiskey as well.

She is, personally, most excited to help promote the aspect of the Kismet Carnival. While the North knows how to enjoy life, such treats as the carnival would help boost the morale of the people of Whitehold and nearby. That it is a traveling fair would benefit not only the Halfshav Duchy, but all of the Redrain region, of course something she would be proud to be part of.

In addition, Venturo has asked her to travel to all the regions he will be starting this project in, to help analyze the lands available for farming and help create a land management plan that would help grow the most beautiful, healthy and hearty plants he can. She agrees to do so (with the permission of those leasing the lands to him of course) and looks forward to seeing the homelands of others, perhaps in areas she has not ventured to before.

An undertaking of this scale with so many moving parts requires contracts, and someone to write and review them all. That's where Amari the lawyer will come in, focusing on making sure the agreements are all a) legal and b) fair for all parties. With input from Venturo and the partners he's already brought on board or will yet, she'll formalize the deals and write up stipulations that will cover contingencies so that whether the venture succeeds or fails, everyone knows what to expect from beginning to end. This, hopefully, will put investors and potential backers at ease, knowing there's a solid framework behind the business.

She'll be happy to explain all the particulars of the trade agreements, and address and amend any sticking points throughout the process until everyone is satisfied.

As her own mother hobbies at brewing in Farhaven, Gwenna was quite excited by the opportunity presented by Venturo along those lines. With the limited growing season of the northlands, the cultivation of more crops in Farhaven could help with both trade and what may be stored over the winters. Lands available for lease for that purpose, with the permission of their owners, would surely been a boon. The north loves their whiskey, so a brewery that would not impose upon, but rather work in harmony with the others in that region, is also an ideal opportunity. She will speak with those locally in charge of such things and hopefully sway them to the ideas.

What truly draws Gwenna in is the festival though. Considering the recent Pirate War and the losses experienced by those in and around Farhaven, The Kismet Carnival would be a welcome activity and surely bolster spirits. Gwenna brings 10,000 of her own personal funds for use by families who many not have the disposable income for such things after the war. She will spend the first day of the festival handing out the silver herself and warming people to the ideas of both the festival as well as potential commerce.

The scope of such a large endeavor requires many elements to be drawn together from the permission to lease lands through out different cities in Arvum, the contractual agreements that must be drawn up, to the building of structures for a brewery or stages and stands for the kismet festival. There is also the hiring of skilled workers for all stages from building, to service and performance that requires careful oversight and strategic set up. Terese has offered her assistance on the global scale of the project in order to aid Venturo in the latter tasks once the agreements and contracts for land have been finalized. She is willing to travel to each of the sites as needed in order to best assist in coordination efforts.

Jonathan is a man of the soil, and always has been, and has recently been made the Keaton advisor to all things agricultural! As such, he is in an excellent position to provide assistance to Venturo's efforts in his own land, helping to clear out space to grow all the hops, corn, and (in the case of the Keaton Lands) pumpkins that will be used to brew the fine concoctions of Master Thayne. In addition, Count Kael has already cleared a brewery to be set up in Oakhaven, adding to the economic flow of this already-burgeoning county. He will, of course, welcome the input of Lady Khanne, as well as any others, and also in turn assist them in planning out the plots growing in other lands, expanding his own experience and hopefully providing his own insights into the deceivingly complicated art of squeezing productivity out of lands that otherwise might run barren or go unused.

Pasquale agrees happily to lend House Malespero's support to Venturo's efforts. He puts some economic power behind it to promote the project and get the breweries established, and will assist in negotiating with representatives in the Lyceum wine country as to securing a location. Most of his passion though, likewise, is for the Kismet Carnival and its possibilities as a boon for the land following the devastation of the wars in Setarco. He directs the sailors and merchants under Nilanza's direct authority to spread the word of it and support it as they can, asking them to play it up as an initiative that could restore cheer and the coin throughout the region.

Natalia is assisting on behalf of House Keaton in the establishment of Venturo's venture in Keaton Lands -- Elmhurst, to be specific. She is coordinating with the others on the project where it relates to the branch there, smoothing the way for the industry moving in and selling it to the locals, helping people work together, and all of that fun stuff. She is putting a significant focus on putting locals to work for the project, working to ensure that those employed in Keaton lands are from the Keaton lands -- or are heavily vetted for their 'fit' with the local community. Her focus is the long-term success of this project where it relates to Elmhurst.

Jaenelle uses her influence as not only a master economist, the Voice of Velenosa, and knowledge of infrastructure to see that the Lyceum welcome Venturo's Carnival with as much smoothness as possible. She personally assists with finding an appropriate location within Lenosia for the Carnival to stop, as well as offering backing by providing monetary and resource assistance. Beyond the location, she assists with finding local tradesmen to help, providing jobs and boosting moral, especially with the influx of Prodigals who've arrived lately who might not have had the opportunities to find stable work yet.

Oh! Caith has found just the PERFECT spot for Venturo's brewery on Maelstrom. It will be a great way to not only bring a bit of commerce into that particular area and be an opportunity to teach thralls and former thralls life skills but also: who doesn't love a brewery?! It's fun and joyful! A place for the community to come together and share laughter and stories over drinks! And to get people excited about this, Princess Caith throws a party with all the food and drink (Raconteur, of course) people could want. There is dancing! There are stories! There are songs! But she is also on hand to listen to any concerns people might have and address them -- she is extremely empathetic and wants to make sure that everyone is onboard. Cheers!

Aureth's role in this is as representative of the Faith (and occasional consumer of fine beverages). He's not entirely unfamiliar with the economics involved as a former purchaser and purveyor of liquor and beer, but primarily what he is here to do is to offer his prayers and blessings over the croplands in honor of Petrichor and the Pantheon, and also to noise about quite a bit about having done so with the showmanship of a fair to decent propagandist.

Grady assists by involving the Deepwoods. After speaking with Marquessa Samantha, the Deepwoods allocate land for Venturo to use for farming, and on which to build a brewery. They commit resources to helping this be established in as expedited a manner as possible. They send guards as well, and work on trade roads throughout Deepwood lands, to improve and ease passage and to keep the area safe. In return, they expect the bump in trade to be good, and besides, everyone's happier when there's good beer to be had right? It's a good deal for them, as increasing economic activity, finding jobs for more people who live in the area, and generally improving the quality of life is what Grady feels the ruling family should do for those in their care.

Cambria has given her permission for Venturo's project to expand its reach into Ostria as well. She invites both himself and Lady Khanne to tour available lands for lease, herself traveling with the pair as well. Funds are allocated to the endeavor to assist in establishing the brewery and acreage for farming and cultivating local crops. Guards are called in for safety's sake, and Cambria also calls in her advisors within Ostria itself to begin drafting plans to see that local roads are kept in good repair, and reminds her cabinet as well that with the recent boom to their population, there are plenty of locals ready and willing to work - be it at the brewery itself, or in conjunction with the Kismet Carnival. Rumor has it the Marquessa of House Mazetti is considering the notion of expanding another series of walls around Ostria, should business continue pouring into the city-state to offer additional safety and security to those who both work and call their home the Walled City by the Sea.

Venturo Thayne, proprietor of Raconteur Brewing, rolls out a new plan for what he's calling the Kismet Carnival! Designed to highlight the best of the breweries, to expand his brewing ventures into new lands and reach new civiliations, he has been making huge inroads in many areas. In Whitehold he opens a brewery, and Lady Khanne is on hand to help with the opening and promote it. She also travels with him to various points of interest around the Compact, helping select appropriate places to harvest, so that he can create local vintages unique by domain. It's an aggressive, interesting plan and the people seem to love the idea.

In Farhaven, Princess Gwenna Redrain finds a good place to lease to him, working with him - and donating some of her own personal funds to the venture - to help bring a bit of lighthearted cheer to her people who have undergone such travails of late. Jonathan Fieldstone and Natalia Whisper coordinate efforts on the part of the Keatons, careful in their selection of an appropriate place to locate a brewery with the blessing of Count Kael. Lord Pasquale arranges room in Nilanza, Princess Jaenelle in Lenosia, and Marquessa Cambria in Ostria - ensuring that the Lyceum does not go without the joy of the festival.

In Old Oak, a new brewery is established under the direction of Lord Grady Deepwood, whose complementary wines go nicely alongside the famed Deepwood Cider. In Maelstrom, Princess Caith Thrax has found the absolutely perfect place - or so she tells literally anyone who will listen - and she is excited, nay, THRILLED to guide construction there.

Lady Amari Keaton draws up the complicated paperwork, and manages to keep all the names and places straight - the mark of a good lawyer. Princess Terese Valardin helps as well, working as strategic direction overseeing so many buildings and workers all going up at once. And Archlector Aureth also assists, talking up the project and encouraging people to work together and to enjoy some truly excellent vintages.

It is a massive undertaking funded by a great many people, but as people flock to the market and enjoy the wares of the Kismet Trading Company, they remark that this is the best of the Compact - and it's hard to argue when drinking the fine vintages.

Also hard to argue when drunk on the fine vintages. Which is probably all part of Venturo's master plan.

Rejoice!

Action by Cambria for Gyre Straits - Calling the Banners

(Public Action, OOC Date: Feb. 4, 2018, 8:59 p.m.)

Cambria's plan of action is two-fold and arguably ambitious. To begin, however, she seeks to rally her banners. The people of Ostria are her first priority, followed by the counties that are under her jurisdiction. The counties are encouraged to reach out to their own baronies, though Mazetti leadership does not ignore these, either. Intimidation, coercion, and threats are not the name of the game. Rather, vassals are given the information shared at the meeting jointly held by the Velenosa and Pravus heads of Houses. Reminders of loyalty and fealty are given, and there is encouragement to stand by ones fellow man in a time where divisiveness and back-biting can only end in tragedy for all.

The second half of her plan to to reach out to those friendly, or at least neutral Abandoned tribes with an open offer: any who are willing to meet, will be freely given information concerning the Gyre as well, and asked to fight alongside Ostria as allies - with no expectation of these tribes bending the knee...before or after the battle to come. Further, for those tribes that are skeptical, Cambria offers this: honorable combat between two champions, to the first blood. If the Ostrian champion wins, the tribe in question will be expected to show up and fight as an ally. If the Abandoned champion wins, no expectations are placed upon them at all.

Acting as the Voice of House Mazetti, Marquis-Consort Hadrian Mazetti's stepping up to not only get the Ostrian war machine mustering and prepared to march, he is of course calling upon those vassals loyal to House Mazetti. Those aligned with the Compact are contacted and given rousing speeches, favors called in, and brutal truths spoken: a new Reckoning is on the horizon. It is time to assemble, prepare, and stand together in the face of renewed threats against humanity. Pointing to the siege of Arx itself as evidence of the seriousness of such matters. Those who refuse, will be met with challenges to their House's honor and challenges issued that the Sword of Ostria will be asked to uphold.

In addition to those loyal to the Compact, Hadrian has another plan in mind. To reach out to those Abandoned bordering Ostria. Elaborating the threat to them as well, through emissaries. It is time to renew old bonds and reunite against a common enemy, one that will undoubtedly move onto the tribes of the Abandoned should the Compact be destroyed - or, worse in some eyes, trample those tribes underfoot in their ravenous march to destroy the Compact as little more than bumps in the road or newly conscripted slaves. Hadrian will offer those willing to swear their loyalty to the Compact and House Mazetti, the protect of House Mazetti. Those unwilling shall be provided with a counter-offer to their initial refusal: fight alongside House Mazetti as allies, with no expectations of their servitude. Such matters can be discussed after the fighting has concluded or when those Abandoned allies decide the time may be right.

Finally, Hadrian will be mustering a number of writs and calling in a number of favors across Arvum in order to muster mercenaries to the service of House Mazetti against a common threat.

Valerio, as Marshal of Osteria immediately sends out messengers to activate pre-planned mobilizations. He'll utilize almost all of the Navy for this as fleets are the primary threat. The Ostrian Army is split to be able to surge for any breakthrough point on the costlines, with half o the Guardians held behind them as a shockassault reserve. For the Abandoned troops, he plans as a secondary force to mirror the army dealing with breakthrough. Of course, noone will be able to deter Valerio himself from the field one way or another.

As part of the Mazetti family supporting the defense of Gyre, Giulio will work with those bringing the new Abandoned in an attempt to discern their loyalties and either remove the disaffected or see that they are identified as necessary.

Theron, naturally, is going to stand in as champion. If it would not be socially censurable to do so, given that it is a trial by combat so the Abandoned view the efforts of the Compact to defend against the Gyre as righteous, he will wield Allegiance, the heirloom diamondplate greatsword of House Mazetti, to further impress how seriously they take this threat.

Duchess Cambria Mazetti calls the banners of Ostria to war. She reaches out to her vassals and her people, reminding them of unity and loyalty and fealty. She gives them gifts and encourages them to stand strong with Velenosa and Mazetti. Duke Hadrian stands with her, calling in favors and giving rousing speeches that remind everyone of the urgency of this call.

And they reach out to the abandoned in the area as well. Reminding them that if the Compact is trampled they are next in line. Offering sanctuary in turn for loyalty to the Compact and Mazetti. Sir Theron, Sword of Mazetti, offers this to those reluctant to join - an honorable challenge, a duel to first blood. If he wins, he offers, they join the Compact and fight for Mazetti. If he loses they are left alone - or they can join the Compact anyway if they prefer. Some take him up on the offer, and some lose - and some win and join anyway. Some few win and decline joining the Compact too, but House Mazetti keeps their word and moves on. Perhaps that will come back around and prove beneficial at some point in the future.

Lord Valerio works on integrating all forces together in a cohesive battle and deployment plan. Lord Giulio works on making sure these newly-joined prodigals are truly sincere. All in all, House Mazetti makes the call and their people respond, and their armies swell as they join the muster.

Action by Cambria

(Public Action, OOC Date: Oct. 29, 2017, 12:26 a.m.)

As Ostria is a city-state within the Lyceum, House Mazetti is not one to ignore the celebration of the Thirteenth's feast day, the Eclipse of Mirrors. For an entire week, House Mazetti provides funds so that its citizens may enjoy feasts and revelry in line with Lycene taste and style, which is to say it is very likely over the top and quite daring. Due to its popularity, a Mirror's Masquerade is also held on the night of the blood moon itself, so that all might engage in a dance with the dark god himself.

Yet this is not all. In the days following the Eclipse of Mirrors (to give party-goers a respite, you see!), House Mazetti in conjunction with members of the Faith overseeing things in Ostria, organize a city-wide rededication to all the gods, those new and old, of the Pantheon. The goal is to reaffirm and re-energize the spiritual health of all those who call Ostria home.

Hadrian Mazetti, Marquis-Consort of Ostria, is there to support both his House and his new people in their endeavor of rededication to the gods - old and new. He's there to give speeches and sip wine, and he's all out of wine. Rousing speeches, inspiring words, the past has been quite unfair to House Mazetti, the future is now, together greatness awaits! Have Faith in the Pantheon, but forget not what makes us Lycene. Do not shy away from the difficult paths and choices, embrace them as the challenges they are, embrace yourselves and one another!

When the parties begin, Hadrian's prepared to mix it up there too. A well-versed politician alone, he is not. He knows how to have a good time, as he's proven time and time again. Putting up some of his own means to make them memorable and altogether enjoyable for the people of Ostria, as well as himself.

Alongside the Faith he will be there to promote bringing the Faith and House Mazetti closer to one another, in both action and prayer. Further fomenting the working relationship between the faithful and the rulers of Ostria, while paying homage to the gods who so rightfully deserve the praise of the people. The goal being to create a positive experience for citizens and visitors to the Walled City by the Sea alike. Reputation means a great deal in the political and social world, so a memorable and positive reputation it shall be. Hopefully.

Orazio will be supporting Mazetti's action by writing to the members of the Faith and encouraging them to work with the Marquessa in this, as well as making sure proper supplies are allocated for Ostria for a dedication of this scope.

Ostria has one of the most spectacular Mirror's Masquerades in the Lyceum, and travelers from Tor and Southport flock to the smaller city-state that swells with revelers. Following the Mirror's Masquerade, the rededication to the rest of the Pantheon led by Orazio goes extremely well. There's a noticeable uptick in laity joining discipleships, and pilgrims from the Oathlands come visit Ostria to take part in the days following the more frowned upon Mirror's Masquerade, to presumably help the godless Lycene get back on the right track. Ostria, being strategically positioned close to the Oathlands, benefits a great deal from warmer relations with the Oathlands as a result- Lycene being Lycene, deals of course happen during the religious celebrations that happen, and trade sees an upswing.

On a sadder note, one of the senior templar commanders in Ostria, a godsworn named Sir Francisco Durant, was killed resisting arrest when it was discovered he was complicit with the Seraph of Gemecitta and involved in the White Stewards. Thus far, no other servants have been found.

Action by Cambria

(Public Action, OOC Date: Sept. 4, 2017, 8:11 p.m.)

With their recent marriage, the Marquessa and Marquis of House Mazetti decide to honeymoon in Ostria itself. The reason for this is twofold: the Marquis is introduced to his new home, and the people of Ostria are given the opportunity to meet the new Voice of Mazetti through a three day festival held by Ostria's ruling family. The focus of the festival is the Ostrian public itself, with food and entertainment being provided by House Mazetti for the merriment of all.

The first day is given over to a grand market, where crafters, artisans, and even those who live outside the city but produce wares are able to sell their goods without being taxed. The second day is full of games, which range from physical sports to competitions of the mind, and both children and adults will find something to engage in. The end of the second day is capped off with a popular play. Finally, the third day is a true feast day, and the one where the Marquis and Marquessa choose several citizens of worthy distinction and award them both recognition for their varied service to the city (be they an exceptional artist, a tireless steward, or a dedicated guardsman), as well as gifts. These people will share the feast table with the new couple, though all throughout the day citizens of Ostria will be able to approach the table and speak candidly with their leaders.

Increase of 15 rep (half rounded down) in Vox update, 70 more dominion structures, 100 more pop units. Should see an economic jump.

Action by Cambria

(Public Action, OOC Date: Aug. 6, 2017, 9:21 p.m.)

Given the news of a spate of recently uncovered White Journals in the Great Archive, Cambria has been making regular visits and asking the Scholars there to show her what's new - rather, newly discovered. For those Scholars who seem less than willing to allow themselves to be so bossed around, Cambria suggests that, just maybe, in return for cooperation, she might even be able to help discern how this odd 'prank' was played on the good and noble Vellichorian Scholars.

The volume is immense. Truly immense. It's not that a handful of stories about exorcisms are shown up. It's that hundreds have, and in great detail, scores upon scores of journals that just weren't there before, complete historical accountings, and constant and persistent references to someone named Palladium that seems reoccuring. The scholars are exceedingly interested in the prank, but most of the books about exorcism are truly ancient, some of the ones not written on Vellichorian Vellum would disintegrate if someone did not take exquisite care in moving them.
