Sponsor Night

Aiden Grayson will be available to those who have sponsored as 'Golden Eagle or Diamond Hawks' for the Menagerie Revitalization Project. Essentially the day is reserved to be an open house to come look around at the expanded and cleared space. Sponsors are encouraged to come with their design ideas and speak with the Officiator. However, the Menagerie doors remain open for the public. All are welcome to walk around and consider the future of the park and become sponsors themselves!
(OOC: This is going to be very casual, intended for those who have purchased Golden Eagle or Diamond Hawk sponsorships to haul Aiden aside and discuss what they want to see.)

This is a casual affair to be sure, nothing entirely elaborate set up for the day, as it is to welcome sponsors to consider their investments as they are invited to walk around the site. There are citrus juices, teas, and a jug of water for those who need refreshments in the summer sun, along with cookies and fruit platters covered by silver lids to keep the bugs off. These refreshments and munchies are set up at the welcome tables near the front of the plaza, where the hand made replication of the menagerie now sits with the proposed and expanded areas. Invitations to the Menagerie Masquerade are also on site, with little butterfly masks drawn on the leaflets and all information proposed underneath.

Aiden Grayson stands near the front and by the tables. The Prince looking his best with a rich black and purple tunic, nodding to most who walk into the menagerie and wearing a polite smile. There's a variety of helpful staff on scene to attend to the smaller matters throughout the night. Aiden considers the gathering group and offers once he's got their attention, for the most part, "There will not be an official speech tonight, as this is a casual affair. I do want you to know I still appreciate every single person who walks through those gates, not only just today, but those who supported the menagerie in the past, and those yet to support it come the future. We're all here for one reason or another and that's great. Please feel free to wander the grounds, grow acquainted where things are and will be, and consider the opportunities it offers if you're not already sponsor. Sponsors, I'd like to ensure you arrange some time to speak with me as construction is going full speed ahead and I will be issuing deadlines on these projects as the architects are eager to proceed and we currently have the men and women available to labor away." His arm gestures north, "The amphitheater is nearly complete. I'll be here for a time if you'd like to speak with me about your contributions. Please enjoy yourselves, help yourselves to refreshments and cookies."

Aemily - A Black Hound, 1 Saik Guard, Amethyst - A Clever Raccoon arrive, following Arcelia.

Marian arrives to the event, dressed in what she's most comfortable in, her indigo leather armor. She's got Oathbinder on her back and twin shortswords on her hips, all of them are peace-tied. She grabbed a couple of snacks and then stood with the crowd as Prince Aiden got up and gave his speech to the select group of sponsors. Once he's done, she puts down her food and claps her hands to show her appreciation. It's clear that she's proud to be one of the sponsors for the Menagerie and she's looking forward to see what he's put together. Ender, her gryfalcon is with her for the event, since Marian figured this event would be animal friendly.

Aiden spots one of the Diamond Hawk sponsors and waves over Marian, "It's good to see you again Princess Marian. It sounds like the wedding gifts were well received?" His mouth curled into a grin and he is thereby thankful that there's not a large seething crowd to contend with, though his eyes wander and note curiously those who are absent, then back to Marian, "I've yet to hear from you Highness, and you're one of our Diamond Hawk sponsors. I have a surprise for your attendance tonight-" he winks as he shows a velvet bag, "Feel free to help yourself to another gift. I appreciate you being here. We've lots to talk about!"

Aiden drops a simple velvet bag.

Marian nods when he asks about the wedding gifts, "Yes...Princess Alis and Prince Fiachra both loved the mated pair." She gets a twinkle in her eye, "Vex...her owl is still adjusting but it's to be expected." Marian motions to Ender that's sitting on her shoulder, "And Ender is doing well. Still working on his training...what you showed me the last time." She shakes her head and then apologizes, "Sorry for not reaching out, I had busienss in Sanctum that took me away for a short time, and I figured I could reach out once I got back to town." She motions to their surroundings, "I love what you've done so far."

Tale - The Snow Fox, A Mirror Masked Woman arrive, following Isolde.

Marian gets a clay jug of Northern Shav blackberry honey mead from a simple velvet bag.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Marian before departing.

"Princess Alis did seem to appreciate Lord Flitzwilliam. I hope that Prince Fiachra can handle Lady Elizabeak... You will let me know if they need help with the pair? It can be troublesome to get them settled but I'm willing to help out," the Grayson Prince offes, looking then to Ender with a proud grin, "Good. I'm glad to hear you've been working out fine with him. I'm always available to train him too, if you need it. Honestly, it's not too busy tonight..." He does consider the comings and goings of curious on-lookers for there had been a lot of talk about the menagerie. The welcoming grin remains as he flicks his eyes back to Marian, "Oh it's fine. I've been busy too." He looks over his shoulder, "Thank you. We're well underway." He pauses then asks, "Your sponsorship came with ... a special invitation to make a lasting mark on the menagerie. Is there any exhibit or seating area that you'd like to specifically like to have your name forever associated with when it comes to the Menagerie?"

Squee, the Flying Squirrel, Brigid arrive, following Darren.

Lady Teldra, a Lycene noblewoman, Sir Bristleworth the Hedgehog, 3 Grayson Guardsmen, 1 Armed Confessors, Steadfast, a guardian dog arrive, following Cara.

Marian gives a nod as Aiden offers to train the mated pair of hawks given to Alis and Fiachra, "Oh, I will let them know that you're available to assist." She reaches out to gently ruffle a few of Ender's feathers, "And for now, I think I've got the basics. When it comes to the more advanced things, I may need your help." She smiles at him and then continues to discuss the sponsorship with him, "And I'm open for suggestions when it comes to putting my name with a exhibit. Do you have any ones that you wanted to do but haven't gotten sponsored?"

Darren is a touch late to the affair, but he nevertheless strolls in with a casual, easy grace. He looks about himself before his attention falls on Aiden, and he walks on up to the Prince to greet him with a respectful nod. "Prince Aiden," he greets warmly. "Apologies for coming a touch late," he doesn't give an excuse, but he smiles over to Marian as well. "Your Highness, nice to see you. Not with my cousin this evening?"

Fashionably late as always, Isolde wanders into the Menagerie. Her guards follow close behind, as well as an over sized guard dog covered in white fluff. Scanning the room, she drifts towards the refreshments. The princess grabs a glass of juice before heading over to Marian, Darren, and Aiden. "Prince Aiden, a lovely gathering you're hosting tonight." Unlike Darren, she doesn't aknowledge her lateness.

Taking soft, graceful steps, Nisaa walks along the path that leds to the Menagerie. Vibrant verdigris eyes look all around with curiosity as the breeze plays with wisps of her hair that have worked themselves free from a bronze rose. She is dressed in a gown of pale blue, slippers that match adorning her feet. She is quiet, observing the others with verdigris eyes for the moment, watching Aiden play host with a smile.

Cara practically travels with a small menagerie -- in this case, a big black dog with a very gentle demeanor, who is currently wearing a light harness with a small basket on it. And inside the basket? A hedgehog, who mostly pokes his nose out now and then to sniff things and look vaguely prickly. Cara has Steadfast on a thin braided lead, though the dog appears to be so mellow that he just pads along steadily beside her as she glances around the menagerie's new construction.

Aiden puts his hands behind his back, rocking on his heels as he explains, "The Golden Eagle sponsors haven't been quite as demanding with my time as I expected. Only Lord Saik has really utilized his investiment, so yes, my schedule is for the most part, clear. And I'd be happy to see those hawks well trained with their new handlers." He rolls back onto his toes and shrugs a bit at the latter subject, of what to sponsor, "The exhibits... are fairly open to choice. It depends on what you like? The elephant? The giraffe? Something with teeth? Like the wolves? Or... with feathers? The birds of prey could use a touch of help, or the song birds. Or the puddle ducks." He grins, "There's still lots to do."
Aiden turns then to Darren, upon seeing the man approach, "Oh no apologies necessary Highness. It's certainly meant to be casual for a reason. No appointed hour, though I am glad to see you. As a Golden Eagle sponsor, we have lots to discuss. Help yourself to a gift for coming tonight, if you like." He points to the gifts laid out. His gaze also takes in Isolde, grin widening to see her as well, "Indeed. Have any of you seen the park? Feel free to walk in the expanded areas. You may also help yourself to a gift of course. We've much to discuss as well, the whole point of this evening. Wander, eat, consider. Enjoy." Noting a friend walk in, his fingers give a wiggle to her and he nods her over. It's the gang that arrives after which has his eyes flicking beyond the Whisper, toward Princess Cara.

"You're late. Did you get slowed down washing your hair?" Darren remarks to Isolde with a slow smirk, though he's clearly playfully teasing her. He utters a low chuckle before nodding over to Aiden again. "I was actually hoping to use one of my training sessions to get a handle on the new pup I brought back from the North with me," he purses his lips, thinking this over. "But that's a matter we can discuss at a later time." His eyes glance to the table with the gifts that are laid out, and he steps that way, though he does offer a nod to Cara and Nisaa as well. The latter, he rather clearly does not know. "Princess Cara, nice to see you."

"Prince Aiden, hello," Cara smiles briefly and glances about the Menagerie, murmuring, "My -- so much work has been done already. It's very impressive. I'm sorry I've not gotten back to you sooner about Prince Laric's gift -- I've been a bit busy with my little ones." She nods amiably to Darren, "Your Grace, hello."

Darren gets a clay jug of Shav wild honey rose petal mead from a simple velvet bag.

"No...not tonight," Marian tells Darren with a smile and her eyes twinkling when he asks about his cousin, "But perhaps we'll see each other later." She turns back to Aiden and asks, "Has anyone sponsored lions? I'd be interested in perhaps taking care of that exhibit." She does like the proud predators and it would be nice to see them in the exhibit, "Or another large predator." She gives Isolde a smile, recognizing her from the auction, "How are you doing?" And Nissa and Cara also gets looks of greeting.

Fridrik, a small White Fox arrives, following Charlaine.

Nisaa smiles to Aiden and approaches him as he wiggles his fingers at her, beckoning her over. She does not mind when his attention goes elsewhere. She gestures to the table of gifts with a hand, as if advertising what is available. Noting Darren's nod, she smiles and dips her head to him, speaking in a heavy foreign accent. "Good evening to you." Her eyes drift back to Aiden briefly before then bowing her head in greeting to Marian whose eyes cast her way.

Cara gets a simple bottle with a wrapping, sweet vanilla based perfume from a simple velvet bag.

Nisaa gets A bar of hibiscus soap from a simple velvet bag.

"So are you. Was it that difficult to wash off the olive oil?" Isolde teases Darren, the corners of her mouth tilting upwards. Her dark eyes turn back to Aiden and she gives a small nod. "Unfortunately I might not have time to wander much tonight." She gives Aiden an apologetic look. "But I had to at least stop by."

Charlaine comes into the Menagerie and she looks about before she looks over to Isolde's voice, she smiles and offers her a small wave of her fingers before she takes a little breath and directs her attention to Aiden. A hand lifted in his direction and she smiles, approaching the platters to get herself some munchies.

"On the contrary Prince Darren, the discussion of scheduling your training sessions with me is one of the many reasons I wished to speak with the sponors. I have to ensure I don't spread myself too thin and wanted to settle on a schedule we can work with." He reaches toward the table to select a notebook, the charcoal stick scrawling a few things in the volume, as his eyes lift up to Cara, "Your Highness. I had hoped to see you here, as part of your gift, you're welcome to select from those available. I know some of our sponsors didn't receive their gift, so you, are allowed two. One for the sponsorship and one, because of tonight. And... I have such a clutter, truth be told." He turns to look toward the menagerie with a dedicated almost visionary stare, then back to Cara, "Thank you. You're welcome to walk around and consider your options. As a Gold Eagle sponsor, you'll have design say in one of the over all areas of the menagerie. I'm afraid, though, the lions have been claimed by Lord Saik and his family. But-" he includes with an eye for Darren, "The bears are more likely to get their own area, if that is still what you wished, Prince Darren." He does wince a little at Marian's choice, "How about the tiger? He's quite alone. I'd like to see him get a fancy exhibit." He nudges Nisaa, "Evening Nisaa," lowering to drape his arm around her to quickly offer a hug while everyone's talking and whispering something to her. To Isolde he nods, "Yes. Your previous interest was in the predators as well? A popular area of the menagerie that I could see it ... opened up a bit more."

Aiden ^

1 Saik Guard, Gunther, a Rottweiler arrive, following Estaban.

Cara gets A Pot Of Vanilla Cream Coffee from a simple velvet bag.

"That's generous of you -- I'll make certain to share the gifts with Laric, as it was his idea. It's really one of the more lovely birthday gifts I've ever had. I was hoping to sponsor the Companion Animals area, if no one else had laid claim to it -- I suppose I've rather a fondness for those loyal creatures who do so much for us," Cara explains, laying a hand lightly atop Steadfast's and giving a little scratch to the dog's ears. (He drools, but his tail wags happily.)

Nisaa accepts Aiden's hug, returning it with one of her own. "Good evening, Prince Aiden. You have worked so hard, I just had to be coming to see." When he whispers to her, she smiles and nods, lingering by his side then wherever he should go.

Marian frowns a little when she finds out the lions are not available. The tiger is a possibility as Marian mulls over which animal to choose. Then she has a spark of inspiration, "How about a stag and does? Has anyone sponsored that exhibit." For while she is in House Valardin, her family is from Greenmarch and it would be a nice addition if it's not already planned. She does have to stifle a laugh when Isolde brings up the olive oil.

Charlaine looks to Aiden, "where is the roster book being kept?" she asks thoughtfully.

"I heard about the birth of your twin girls, Princess Cara. Congratulations. I take it they are strong and healthy?" Darren asks of Cara, before he looks back to Aiden and grins a bit. "I would like to claim the bear exhibit, yes. Just go ahead and put my name right there." He turns after, to Isolde, and rolls his eyes. "One does not /wash/ off the olive oil, Princess. You sweat off the olive oil. It is very difficult work," he smirks.

Estaban comes walking into the Menagerie looking around his guard is next to him and his pup at his side by his feet padding along, he is dressed in house Saik leather armor with his sword at his side and bow strapped across his back there is a smirk on his face and a twinkle in his eyes.

"Oh, yes, Your Grace. They're very well. Good lungs and they like to make sure we know about it," Cara says drily. "It's a shame they were born in summer, in some ways, for we keep the windows open for the breeze and I daresay half the ward can hear them caterwauling. Thank the gods for nannies; I don't know how I would ever manage both of them without help."

Nisaa notices Estaban walk in with his guard and pup. Smiling, and linking her arm with Aiden's to stay near to him, she lifts her other hand in a wave to the man, then, if he spots her, she dips her head in a respectful greeting.

Samantha makes her way into the menagerie. Her smile is immediate as she meanders around, a few pieces of paper rolled into scrolls tucked under her arm. She seems to be on her own; perhaps her husband is otherwise occupied.

"I've only really an interest in foxes. Though I suppose that is a predator." Isolde muses, looking between Aiden and the rest of those gathered. "I did buy two sponsorships however. Hm. Not sure what the second should be." Princess Cara gets a polite smile and a curious glance. "Congratulations. Good luck with the little ones." Then, back to the high lord of Redrain, she chuckles. "You're disgusting, Darren"

Asheryn, a Gyrfalcon arrives, following Rickard.

Aiden also offers, "There is the mountain lion (cougar/puma) as well and the snow leopard,-" he notes when Marian isn't too thrilled, "As well as a lynx..." He puts it out there, then shakes his head to Marian, "None thus far has sponsored our beautiful stag and doe. You could also consider the big horned sheep or the mountain goats. Quite a lot of options. Think about what really resonates with you." Nisaa is given another shoulder nudge, as he really tries to keep up with the conversation, nodding to Charlaine, "In production currently. Once all the projects have been funded and all the exhibits built for now, then we'll publish it." (for the way the book code works! alas). He notes to Darren, "You're sponsoring more than one bear exhibit in actual fact Prince Darren, but the entire 'theme' and design of the park around the various bears we do have. The great white bear for instance, and the smaller browns and blacks." (so more of an overall 'room' desc than one particular bear exhibit).

To Cara, Aiden looks quite relieved, "Consider yourself the sponsor for the Companion Park, Princess Cara. I look forward to seeing what you and the architects put together."

Darren utters a low laugh to Cara. "Well, twice the crying. But twice the fun, I think. I'm not sure how my mother handed Deva and I when we were born. Though, if the stories she tells are correct, Deva was far harder to handle," he grins to the Princess. "What are their names?" He looks to Isolde afterward, and smiles oh-so-politely. "Am I? Well you are still a doll, Prncess Isolde," he smirks. He nods afterward to Aiden, making a mental note. "I'll have to have a conversation with a few of my designers, then. Creating an entire park for bears isn't my forte, unfortunately."

Charlaine nods her head as she smiles as she listens to Aiden, she moves over to talk to him, she smiles to Nissa as she wraps her arm to his own and she looks over and she smiles, "is the Diamond level something we can join to sponsor a animal?" she asks to him. "I would love to support the, Stag I think, unless you have any Red Pandas then... I would have to choose them." she chuckles before she sees Estaban, and she smiles his way her eyes glittering when she sees him.

"Kieri and Petra, for my brother and Lord Pietro," Cara smiles -- and notices Samantha, to whom she gives a little wave of greeting. "Laric cannot tell them apart at all, which is sure to be very entertaining in later years. I've taken to dressing them in colors just to keep it all straight."

"How sweet of you, Darren." Isolde shakes her head with another chuckle. Then, as she's stated her exhibit choice already, the princess takes a step away from poor crowded Aiden. Letting him breathe would be smart. As she moves, Isolde leans in to whisper something to Darren as well.

Marian is very quick to let Charlaine know, "Oh no...I'm going to sponsor the Stag and doe to honor my brother, Marquis Marius Greenmarch." She looks to Aiden to make sure he gets that because she doesn't want to lose another chance to sponsor an animal of her choosing.

Aiden reconsides Isolde, his eyes down and trying to jot so many ideas at once, grinning, "Foxes for certain Princess Isolde, for your Diamond Hawk sponsorship. Your Golden Eagle sponsorship allows you a personal touch to one of the themed areas in the park. I do have the Aviary, the Reptile House, and the ungulates that need a little design work."

"I'd love to steal the aviary then!" Isolde chirps, before starting to drift off.

"Very beautiful names," Darren remarks to Cara, offering her a broad smile. "Well, please do pass my congratulations on to your husband," he says, before turning to Isolde as she murmurs something to him. He gives her a nod, before he offers Isolde his arm. "Do you want to go walking about the park, Princess?" he smirks up to her. "I promise I am not /too/ greasy."

Estaban spots Nisaa smiling and waving to her, "Nisaa it is good to see you as always." he moves over closer to where Aiden is standing. He spots Charlaine and a smile spreads across his face, "Lady Blanchard it is lovely to see you as well." he smiles then looks to Aiden, "Lord Karadoc has sent his apologise your highness and has asked me to stand in for him."

Aiden considers Charlaine, nodding, "A diamond Hawk sponsorship is available, yes. As for the Stags, I think Princess Marian had just spoken for them. Perhaps you can... consider something else. A stroll through the park might open your mind to what you can do." He looks awfully busy trying to juggle. He looks after Isolde, nodding, "I'll jot you down for your interest in that." Aiden turns his gaze to Estaban, a sigh, of relief, "Would you take some of these ladies for a walk through the park?" He teases, then notes, openly, "I've noted the Saik's interest for the big cat section of the park. They shall maintain that, Lord Saik. No need to worry."

Samantha beams at Cara, making her way over to the other woman and if permitted, kissing her cheeks. "I'm sorry I haven't been to see you and the babies." she says. "I'll rectify that soon. And have a go at making another owl so both can have one." she looks around a few moments, notes Aidan is speaking with other sponsors, and seems content to wait her turn.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Aiden before departing.

Charlaine laughs a little as she pauses nodding her head to Marian before she puts her checkbook away.. she moves to stand near Estaban as he draws closer. "I was going to ask Prince Edain if he would like to co sponsor the stag, but it is good that you have thought of the Greenmarch." she nods her head to the princess in appoligy

Leaning in, Isolde pretends to examine poor Darren's arm. "Mm, I'm skeptical." She teases before taking the high lord's offered arm. "But I'll accept. For charity."

Aiden does offer to those sponsors still gathered, clearing his throat, "There is a Water Fountain contest going on as well, for this very plaza. I will be gathering designs from whoever submits then and it's my hope that I can rely on the sponsors to submit their votes for the best designs. I'll have them arranged in the amphitheater when the time comes. Again, feel free to wander, to munch, to talk. I'll be here for a while yet, so there is no rush. We'll get it sorted." He promises, with a quick wipe of his hand to his brow, sweating.

Cara looks quite pleased at Samantha's greeting and pats the marquessa's arm gently in reply, "Oh, please do -- we'd love to have you. They're rather red and squalling most of the time, but I do think they are the most adorable children to ever grace Arvum. I am aware that I'm biased on the subject, though." She lowers her voice to add something privately.

Darren rolls his eyes at Isolde once more before he starts over to the ferocious beasts exhibit. "Hmm. Ferocious beasts, sounds right up your alley," he is likely heard commenting to Isolde. He does take a couple of cookies off the plates as he walks on by.

Tale - The Snow Fox, A Mirror Masked Woman leave, following Isolde.

Squee, the Flying Squirrel, Brigid, Isolde leave, following Darren.

Marian shakes her head and tells Charlaine, "Oh...no offense given. It's a bit busy tonight and I wanted to make sure Prince Aiden knew of my intention to sponsor the stag and doe." She turns to Aiden and makes a point of telling him, "If you find you have animals that aren't sponsored by the end of the evening, let me know. I wouldn't mind taking on another one if it helps the menagerie." She nods as he mentions that he's taking offers on the water fountain design.

Estaban steps in to Charlaine leaning down to press a kiss to her cheek then he looks to Aiden moving to clasp his arm, "Thank you Prince Aiden." he smiles then looks around, "Is there there any who would like to stay a tour?" he looks arouns.

Samantha laughs a little bit, and murmurs back to Cara. A hand presses briefly to her stomach.

Aiden BLINKs over at Estaban, because of the kiss to Charlaine's cheek. There's a little back and forth side to side glance between them, a smirk, and then his attention pivots, "Princess Marian, I do have your interest recorded. We'll have you working with the professionals in no time so you can add your touch to it." He humms thoughtfully, spotting Samantha, giving her a nod, "Marquessa, when you have a moment, I'd like to hear your thoughts on what you'd like to help design. I do have the reptile house and the ungulate area remaining for personal touch, if either of those interests?"

Charlaine looks to Estaban as he kisses her cheek, and she blushes, "I need to quickly run to the bank, but when I return, could you show me where the Giraffe is going?" she asks to Estaban. She looks pretty taken with the Lord and she shyly shifts her fingers to his arm before she lets it go.

Arm in arm with Aiden, Nisaa walks. "It is good to see you as well, Lord Estaban." But then he is off to speak to Charlaine. When there is a break in Aiden's conversations, she asks, "what is a puddle duck?"

Samantha lifts her head from her quiet murmur to Cara, admitting to Aiden, "Actually, I wanted to propose an arboreal enclosure. For the creatures who persist in the trees, such as the pine martens, the monkeys, and the sloths. Something that provides them a canopy to move about in."

Torian is wandering the grounds, since the place appears to be open to the general public as well as sponsors. It doesn't get much more general than a commoner as well, the man moving around alone, looking things over, subtley asking here and there to see if he can't get himself directed to the person making the decisions for the place.

Marian is content now that she's been able to tell Aiden what she wants to do. Then she looks around to see if anyone needs a partner to go through the menagerie with her, since most of the people she personally knows have paired off already.

Estaban nods his head, "Alright, once you return." he says softly to her then he looks to Aiden with a smirk. "What?" he moves to stand with Aiden and Nisaa, "How are you doing Nisaa?" he asks her with a smile.

Aiden laughs quietly to Nisaa's ask, "Uhm. Well, that's not the real name of course, I just call them that. I've seen so many water fowl that simply float in any puddle of water they can, usually small ponds that you wouldn't think they'd enjoy." He shrugs, "I hope we'll one day have a pond for the swans, the geese, and the ducks." To Samantha, he considers her proposition, "That might take a bit more time than we can manage before winter. The enclosures we have for them now, may work. I will add this onto the future wish list for projects. I'll need to focus on the sites cleared for what we have now, to get it finished by end of season." He does grin, "I know you have an affinity for the sloths, Marquessa. Consider the future expansion yours to design."

Fridrik, a small White Fox leaves, following Charlaine.

Aiden notices a wandering lost soul over there, his silver eyes upon Torian. His hand lifts, "Hello there. Feel free to wander around and ask questions as you see fit." He goes back to taking a few more notes, brow raised at Estaban, "You and I, drinks later. Hmm?"

Samantha smiles. "I shall do so. Indeed, I have a great fondness for them." At Cara's murmur, she excuses herself and lets Aiden continue his meanderings, murmuring in reply to her friend.

Torian grins and his face lights up with it, the change from exploring to conversion is quite dramatic on his face. "Oh, I think I just have one question, if you are who I think." He's gotten some tips along the way, it's not like Aiden's position is a secret, "I'd heard tell there was a need for some crafters to ply their trade in support of the animals, and given how much of my trade relies on animals, I thought I might try to give something back."

Fridrik, a small White Fox arrives, following Charlaine.

"Oh, I am quite well, Lord Estaban," Nisaa says to him when he rejoins them. "And you seem to be doing of lovely sorts too, yes?" She smiles at him then leans towards Aiden as he explains the concept of puddle ducks. "Oh, I am seeing now. A duck." She nods to him then lets him move on to his other conversations.

Samantha bursts into laughter at something Cara says, clapping her hands in delight. "Thank you." she says. "I needed that." Such gossipy ladies!

Cara answers something Samantha said privately before taking Steadfast's lead, "I think it's time to explore a touch and see how things are progressing -- do let's talk later, Marquessa." She nods amiably to the others, Darren and Isolde, Aiden and Marian, before going about her way.

Ender, a Silver Gyrfalcon leaves, following Marian.

Estaban nods his head, "I look forward to drinks later Prince Aiden." he smiles then looks to Nisaa, "Things are well yes." he smiles more a touch of pink coming to h is cheek then he looks around. "It looks like we have a lot of sponors that is good."

Ender, a Silver Gyrfalcon arrives, following Marian.

Samantha seems quite content to explore on her own after Cara takes off on her own as well. She offers smiles to the others present, relative strangers to her, but she's always happy to meet new faces. "Lovely, isn't it?" she remarks affably to Estaban and Nisaa. "It's expanded considerably from a year ago. Prince Aiden is doing a splendid job."

Aiden turns his gaze upon Torian when it's brought up about adding in a touch of crafter to the place, "Yes. I was desiring someone to run a shop here in the menagerie and help manage it, stock it with all goods that can be possibly created that are animal in style and flare." He consides the man, tilting his head, "Sorry I didn't grab your name? And what do you do?" He looks toward Nisaa then, grinning, but trying to keep polite and focused on the man who has come to speak about the shop! He tips his head to Cara and Samantha, watching them proceed off, offering to Estaban, "Not Crows Rum..."

The compliment from Samantha has his cheeks darken, "I am trying, it's a rather large job. It's basically consuming all my thoughts presently Marquessa." He offers then asks, "We still need to meet about the details of the Masquerade of course, when we've both have a few moments to do so?"

Nisaa gives Estaban a knowing grin at the color rising in his cheeks, but does not point it out otherwise. "I am gladdened to hear it," she says before turning to Samantha. "I have not been here for that long, but I have seen how much he has done in short time. It is rather amazing."

Estaban chuckles at Aiden, "No, not Crows Rum.." he turns to look on Smantha when he steps over to her, "Lord Estaban Saik." he gives her a respectful bow he heared Aide all her title before but not her name. "Prince Aiden has done a wonderful job so far, it was wise to put him in charge of it." he looks to Nisaa and just smiles to her.

Charlaine smiles to Aiden "oh a wood worker or Glass blower would be nice, creating animal totems." she says as she moves over to Aiden and she hands him her check. "For the Giraffe." she says as she smiles and she turns to see where Estaban was at. She smiles as she catches him talking to Nisaa and her eyes move back to the prince.

Torian remains friendly but speaks quickly, as the other man appears rather popular. "Oh, forgive me. Torian Culler. I run the Lederer of the Lowers leather shop." Lederer being a fancy name for a leatherworker or tanner. "Sorry to distract you from the uh, event here. I just figured I could bend your ear a little. Maybe we should just meet up when you're more free?" Seems like a sound plan.

Samantha assures Aiden, "The projects that are a lifetime investment, these are the ones well worth remembering. And I know how deeply you care for animals. I'm glad you have a passion to dedicate yourself to. And of course, very soon. I'm happy to be of help. I'm very fond of the Menagerie." She ah's to Nisaa, noting, "When I first came to the city, it was the first place where I felt a sense of contentment. And while I did not meet my husband here, this is where we came on the first time we walked out together."

Aiden is presented a promisary note from Charlaine, smiling at her, "Well Lady Charlaine, I shall thank you for your contributions. The giraffe, will very much appreciate it too." He accepts it and then tucks it away into his tunic, for safe keeping, to bring to the bank later. "I'm glad you decided to go with the giraffe, I was afraid he wouldn't get any special treatment, what with how strange he looks with his long neck." Aiden's eyes travel to Torian next, "Master Torian Culler," he pauses over the name, then nods, "I believe I had been on my way to your shop once, when I was mugged. I had been told about how superb your work was. You were crafting armor, correct?" He asks, "I doubt you'll ever find me more a free man than now, Master Culler. So you might as well bend away, while you have the chance." Silver eyes flick toward Samantha then, "I'm very glad for your contributions to the Menagerie," he pauses, listening to how much it meant to the Marquessa, "It's been a corner of the city that's... gone unchanged for so many yeas. I thought to better it for the enjoyment of everyone."

Estaban is done introducting himself to Samantha he spots Charline and heads back over in her direction, "Are we allowed to name the animals Prince Aiden?" he has a smirk on his face uh ohs.

Ender, a Silver Gyrfalcon arrives, following Marian.

"What a lovely memory that is," Nisaa says to Samantha. "Having a first together event in such a lovely place. I came to Arx just before big war battle. So it has not been long. I have found lovely places. My Malik has built for me a beautiful garden. I do enjoy exploring the city, though it has taken me to places I did not realize were dangerous." She glances to Aiden then and says, "like the river."

Marian wanders back into the main area after making her tour of the menagerie. She looks very happy at the efforts that Prince Aiden has made to make a home for the animals in this sanctuary. She gives Aiden a look to make sure that he doesn't need anything. It looks like the princess is about to take her leave.

"It was." Samantha says. "I showed him the sloth, and he couldn't fathom what their purpose was. They're very content creatures. I find that only the most interesting places are a mix of both the benign and dangerous, though." She offers a smile, pressing her fingers to her heart. "I'm Samantha Deepwood. Welcome to Arx, however belatedly."

Aiden's look is sent toward Estaban at the matter of naming the animals, "I'll work with the Leola of the Lodge to see if any of them are willing to take on new names..." He doesn't go into explaining that one, but there mention of the Paladin of Groves should suggest there was some importance to seeking her out before he accepted the names of new animals. Aiden turns his gaze toward Nisaa as she brings back the river, nodding, "Even in dangerous places, you can still find so much beauty." He waves toward Marian as she moves to take her leave, "Thanks for coming Marian!"

Ender, a Silver Gyrfalcon leaves, following Marian.

Charlaine smiles a little to Estaban, "would you show me that tour now?" she asks him, her eyes shift to Aiden and she smiles brightly before she reaches up to take the arm of the Lord whom stood near her.

Torian ahhhs a little, "I can appreciate that you're a busy man then..." He nods some, it's a fair point that's been made, "And you're right I've done armor, but I can work most anything leather. We do bags, shoes, we being my apprentices and I. Is what I mean." His method of speach isn't exactly refined, but he's doing his best to at least leave the cursing out of it. "Also we do harnesses and tack for horses. I assume we can master the same fore more exotic animals..." He looks around at the others sharing Aiden's attention, "I'm sorry I'm not used to talking so openly about the business."

Nisaa lets out a soft giggle and says, "the sloth is being very slow. They are cute though. Look like they are quite happy in their leisurely pace." She dips her head to Samantha and says, "Nisaa Whisper. It is a pleasure to be meeting you." Nodding to Aiden she says, "it was beautiful there, wasn't it? I had such a lovely afternoon that day. We should do that again some time."

Estaban smiles, "I would." he looks to Aiden with a grin, "I will send a note to her, I am not sure if she still stays up in the Saik tower or not these days." he turns With Charlaine leaning in to whisper something to her as they walk along. "I will bring a bottle of Saik Whiskey my Prince." he calls as he walks off with the woman on his arm

"We should and we shall," Aiden promises to Nisaa, "Or the day on the boat, once I can breathe a little again." He notes, "The next month ... it's going to be a rush to get this project finished before winter comes." Aiden lifts his hand to Estaban and Charlaine, "Enjoy your time!" And is drawn back to Master Culler, nodding a little. He listens and then considers the crafters awkwardness, "Of course, Master Culler. Maybe you do have a point in speaking about business where we can settle without so much distraction. When would be best for you?"

Aiden picks up a simple velvet bag.

Fridrik, a small White Fox leaves, following Charlaine.

1 Saik Guard, Gunther, a Rottweiler, Charlaine leave, following Estaban.

"It's lovely to meet you, Nisaa." Samantha says, but adds apologetically, "I must excuse myself. Rymarr worries if I'm out too long in my condition." With a nod of her head, Samantha slips out of the menagerie.

Malik comes walking up the path to the Menagerie, emerald eyes bright and curious. He finds Aiden and Nisaa almost instantly though, a smile blossoming onto his lips as he heads over. There is a flourishing bow for Aiden, of course. "Hello my friends!" he greets in his warm and rich accent, and he moves to press a quick kiss to Nisaa's cheek after.

"Malik, wonderful timing friend," he offers, "I fear I'm boring Nisaa and I was hoping you could show her around the menagerie? It's not so much to look at now, but let your imagination go, right?" He chuckles and waits to hear from Torian, since he's getting quite a few messengers and some seem more pressing than others, like the note from the Crown.

Aiden ^

Torian grins and nods, "Tell you what. I'm usually always available at my shop, and I assume you're the busier man. You can summon me when it pleases you, with a note sent there. Alternatively." He chuckles, a little knowingly, "If you come to visit, I'll ensure that you're not mugged either on the excursion, or the return."

Nisaa smiles extra bright when Malik arrives and gives her cheek a kiss. "Malik, I am so glad to be seeing you." She releases Aiden's arm then and moves to Malik, kissing his cheek as well.

"I am thinking you are wrong, your Highness. Nisaa always is telling me how much fun she is having on your outings," Malik smiles to Aiden, before he brightens as Nisaa kisses him on the cheek. He doesn't hesitate to take her hand. "But I would be very happy to be going on a tour."

Aiden laughs softly, "Busy, yes. A note, okay, that I can do Master Culler. I'm particularly interested in a shop that sells... gifts. Perhaps you can craft me a few of what you might have in mind, so I can get a better understanding of what you're capable of? In the meantime, I'll be sure to reference your name, to social circles I run in." His lips curl up and while it was friendly, there was a touch of a hard line behind it. "That will do then, Master Culler. Craft three various items you would consider selling at the Menagerie. I'll give you ample time before I call on you. It was well that we met, however, I do have to cut this short. I'm very much required to step away for a time. Do look around and see if the place inspires you, Master Culler." A look to Malik and Nisaa, "My friends, enjoy your tour. I will see you shortly." (But you really won't, I need to sleep).

Torian bows his goodbyes to the noble man who runs the place. "I'll have some samples for you by the end of the week, My lord." He seems at least capable of falling into speaking more properly, eventually. "Thank you for your time." He bows a little more and then backs away. Plenty of others here for Aiden's ears as well.

Nisaa stands close with Malik and says, "will you be leading me on the tour then?" She smiles to him, then dips her head to Aiden. "Thank you for having me at your side tonight, Prince Aiden. I shall be seeing you soon."

"Ah, I suppose I am coming too late," Malik frowns just a little, perhaps a touch disappointed, but he brightens again as Nisaa stand close to him. "I will," he promises, before dippping his head to Aiden. "Have a good night, Prince Aiden."

Aiden notes to Malik, before he leaves, "Never too late to speak with me Malik... Although you'll have to seek me out in the next few days. If it's something important, or if you wish to be involved, send me a missive. We've masks to discuss after all! More than just mine!"
