Lailah heard about the impromptu fight, and so the noblewoman approaches the gathering and looks around for Sorrel. When she notices the princess in question, she approaches. "Your highness, I'm reasonably skilled as a healer, so if you need someone to make sure wounds are taken care of..."

Mikani nods softly to Sorrel and grins at the other woman. "I hope so ... I think the point of this was to get a turnout ... " She winks at Sorrel before she continues to warm up.

Alizarin, an ethereal bard arrives, following Nuala.

Because Caspian is ether full off himself or just that kind of person, when Caspian strolls his way in he heads his way over to the Judge's Desk and flops his but right in the center chair, smiling as he calls over to Sorrel and Mikani, "Good luck you too! Try not to kill each other!

Nuala has joined the Noble Seating.

"Thank you, Lady Lailah! We're going to hurt one another a bit here, but it's just to first blood, so hopefully it won't be too rough," Sorrel says brightly to the healer who's just announced herself. "We certainly appreciate you being here." She steps aside to address the audiece. "In fact, we appreciate the fact that you're all here, watching us compete against one another, and we hope that you have a good time of it!"

Clover is here, of course! As soon as she heard she made her way down to the proving grounds. Finding herself a seat at the noble seating, folding her hands together but briefly lifting them to her mouth to call out, "Go Sorrel! You're the BEST!"

Jasher stalks from the direction of the Heroes' Home, satchel slung over his shoulder. Upon seeing a larger gathering than usual around the Proving Grounds, he slows and stops, craning his neck to look over the assembled heads to see what's going on. It's not a hard task given that he's taller than most of the people around, even if not by much.

Sorrel is lanky and brightly clad and thus easy to see. She blows a kiss to Clover when her sister calls out to her, then turns a quick colorful pirouette, playful and ready to fight. It's a show, after all, of fighting prowess, and entertainment, too.

Lady Neilda Saik is come to the proving grounds for the first time since her arrival in the city: dressed in all finery, the lesser noblewoman is clearly come to spectate today. Though she has some acquaintances from training in the Malvici and Saik barracks, most of the faces here seem unfamiliar. With hardly a preference to who to cheer on as the victor, she looks for somewhere to sit among the crowd.

"Am I allowed to cheer for my cousin even though I'm running this? Would that be unfair?" Caspian wonders allowed, looking over to Mikani, then back to the crowd, eyes roaming over them for any familiar faces.

A spring in her step brings in Nuala, dark as night, a rose tucked over her ear. A curtain of swaying black hair falls in waves around her. The proving grounds are familiar, so she finds little trouble orienting herself. In this case, she gravitates for the stands for the silks.

Clover catches said blown kiss and gently lays it against her own cheek. "Mwah!" She blows a kiss back to her sister, and then nudges the ribs of whoever is sitting next to her, "That's my sister down there! Do you see her armor? I designed it for her. She's _the best_."

Lailah having announced her presence and offer to help heal, Lailah heads towards the noble seating to watch, making sure to have a quick line towards the fighters should they need her.

Mikani looks at Caspian, "Aye you just can't help me win ...." She calls out. Mikani is dressed in her usual leathers. Black with blood red. If anyone looked close enough it would tell the story of how Redreef Came to be. She stretches her arms a bit as she picks up some sand and moves it between her hands.

Galen has been here the whole time! Promise. He's got a bottle of rum in hand as he watches his wife fight Mikani.

Lailah has joined the Noble Seating.

Mikani has joined the Dueling Ring.

Marius, 1 House Corvini Guard arrive, following Giulio.

"Woo! Go Mikani! Kick some ass!" Caspian calls out, pumping his fist up to the sky!

Neilda has joined the Noble Seating.

Sorrel draws her sword and points it at Caspian for a moment. "You cheer for whomever you like," she says with a laugh, evergreen eyes sparkling, and then she heads for the Dueling Ring to face off against Mikani.

Sorrel wields Symphony's Blade, a violet edged rubicund saber.

Sorrel has joined the Dueling Ring.

Clover stands up so she can cup her hands around her mouth and shout.

Mikani wields Griffin's Tooth, A rubicund dagger.

Clover shouts from nearby, "GO SORREL! IF YOU CAN'T DO IT NO ONE CAN!"

Mikani pulls her dagger. Mikani's dark eyes watch the other woman as the dagger twirls into her hand. She was really going to have to learn a longer blade .... She takes a deep breath as she prepares.

Jasher glances up at the sky, then continues on his way. Pity since the fight's just started, but it seems the man has other things on his to-do list for the moment.

3 Thrax Guards leaves, following Jasher.

Kalani has joined the Noble Seating.

Not quite late to the duel, but close enough that it almost counts, Lady Kalani Seliki takes a seat near the end of the bottom row of seats overlooking the dueling ring.

It's a fast moving duel, with combatants that are very quick and light on their feet. Sorrel and Mikani manage to trade grazes, but for the most part, it's nothing but feints and dodges. Sorrel moves like a dancer, all fluid, like there's music only she can hear.

"Get her on the left!" Galen calls out, motivational warstache mode engaged.

"Go Mikani! Cut her down to size!" Calls out Caspian to the two fighting, slamming his palm upon the table as he watches the fight with rapt interest.

Silhouette, a Volkov courser arrives, following Ruslan.

Propping the heels of her boots against the edge of the railing, Kalani leans forward and rests her elbows on her knees, watching the duel with avid interest.

Mikani trades a brush with Sorrel. Other than that it was like the two were dancing. Forward. Back. Mikani closed out to all save Sorrel. Her sole focuse was on the other woman. Her moves equally as fluid as if the dagger was part of her body. Just an extention of her arm.

And then Mikani gets through Sorrel's guard in an extreme sort of way, leaving the princess with quite the gash and a lot of blood. "Ow!" she yelps. "I yield!" She goes down on one knee, conceeding the quick fight. Sorrel glances around for that healer now.

Mikani pulls back after Sorrel yields. She blinks as if she couldn't have heard right.

"Sorrel!" She hops up from her seat, and starts to rush down the stands in the direction of her sister. Her attendant bringing her healer's kit along behind her.

Lailah gets up from her position on the of the field even before Sorrel yields and immediately heads towards the princess to head out to heal as promised.

The sudden end with Sorrel bleeding has Nuala, who watches from the railing, wincing in very real appreciation and sympathy. Her teeth grit slightly and her sloe-dark gaze is equally seeking the proof of a healer. It's not her. Clover running sees her drifting to the edge of the stairs in case of ... well, anything.

Wincing at the sudden end of the duel, Kalani starts to reach for her physicians kit before spotting another healer already moving to the ring. A look of relief forms on her face as she realizes that there's another healer on duty.

The ladies around Neilda arise, and so she does too: there is genuine sympathy in her eyes, but she knows she can do little to help stay the effects of the princess's wounds. Frowning, she remarks to the Princess Nuala: "Dear me, I hope she is right."

Luigi, 5 House Mazetti Guardians arrive, following Hadrian.

"I'm okay, Clover," Sorrel reassures her little sister with a smile, gritting her teeth through the pain as she is bandaged. "Congratulations belong to Lady Mikani!"

Clover makes her way down to her sister, moving to head over and open up her healer's kit when the knight brings it to her. "Are you /sure/ you're okay?" She's pulling out gauze and starting to bandage up the Thraxian-Dragon.

Elizabetta, a disapproving lady-in-waiting, Lily, an aloof lady-in-waiting, 2 Grayson House Guards, Clark, an exasperated guard arrive, following Sabella.

Sam, who is a boy and definitely not a princess in disguise, Sabella arrive, following Niklas.

Nuala nods slowly to Neilda and her creased brow starts to smooth after the announcement. "Me as well. Both of them duelled well," she says. That contralto doesn't travel far at first. "At least nothing too severe. Quick actions there." She gives a clap of her hands to recognize Mikani's victory.

"Good job Mikani! Congradulations! And good job Sorrel!" Caspian calls out, standing up to cheer and applause, not as worried for Sorrel as he is as the others. He's been on that side of the blade too many times before.

Mikani bows to the crowd. "Thank you. Princess Sorrel ... I am surprised ... but honored to have dueled you. Thank you for the chance." She bows to her opponant.

"Quite right," Neilda contends. "I've known the pain of overexerting myself though, too recently. Indeed, somehow I let my folly get the better of me and I ended up fighting Harlex Valtyr," she grins, remarking to Nuala somewhat wistfully: "But it was nothing that a few days in the Grotto couldn't fix to get rid of those bruises, aches and pains."

Galen rises to his feet, clapping for the competitors. "Well fought!"

"I am sure I'm okay, especially now that you've bundled me in fifteen feet of bandages," Sorrel teases Clover, getting to her feet and clapping for Mikani. "It's been a pleasure, Lady Mikani. Very good hit there. Very good hit."

Bundle, bundle, bundle! Clover gives Sorrel a dry look and then says, earnestly, "You're _very_ important! We can't have you bleeding out." She adds another foot of bandaging to be sure.

Lailah makes sure the bandages that matter are secured properly and then lets Clover get to her hard work of getting Sorrel into a mummy costume. "Well fought, both of you."

"Galen," Sorrel complains. "Tell my sister that she doesn't need to bandage me anymore! I think I've stopped bleeding already." In spite of this, she's laughing a bit, and she makes a playful shooing gesture at Clover.

Nuala comes in a bit closer to Neilda so the conversation can continue without hollering across the stands. "I do as well. Harlex Valtyr is a vicious partner to spar with." Her smile is a faint twist of the lips, full of memory. The tone is not unkind: "Very effective, however. You'll learn much from him. And the need to have a good supply of balm on hand."

Clover huffs at Sorrel and says, "Well when you're still alive tomorrow morning, you be sure to thank me!"

"Sisters fuss, mines fusses over me, and yours does too," Caspian calls over to Sorrel, rising from the table to head over to where Mikani is and wraps her up in a hug. "Good job, proud of you!"

"It's partly how we're trained, partly how those strings are tied," Kalani suggests with a laugh as she rises to her feet and dusts her hands off. She waves to Nuala before stepping down out of the stands.

Kalani has left the Noble Seating.
