Comments and Log

2 House Wyrmguard Guards, Springbottom, the ravenous pygmy goat arrive, following Sorrel.

Root, a ferocious badger arrives, following Archeron.

Caspian has joined the Table 1.

Cecilia glides into the hall, pausing near the entrance to study the gathered crowd. After a moment, she moves to find a spot near the middle-to-back of the grouping.

Sparte has setup the bolster at the front of the Charter Hall, with some chairs setup for people to sit in as well. On a table in front of Sparte are two books, each referencing the trip to Blackshore. One Expedition Log, and one Survey of the lands of Blackshore. It seems they're being made available for the public to read today, though there is no sign of extra copies lying around.

With a glances around at the people who've shown up Sparte gives a small nod before smiling and speaking. "Thanks for coming around. I promised there would be a follow up on the Blackshore trip once the findings from the trip were compiled." He gestures to the tables. "Feel free to read the reports yourselves and ask any questions that you feel are unanswered. If you know of anyone who couldn't make it today, these will remain in our library and be available to those who reach out and ask. The full of the Society deeply appreciates the support that was given to make this voyage possible."

Sorrel has gathered as part of the crowd, but she slips over towards Cecilia with a smile, motioning for the woman to come find a seat with her so that they can listen together.

Shard slips in quietly, and heads immediately for the back of the group.

Sorrel has joined the Table 1.

Cecilia has joined the Table 1.

Caspian walks into the hall as he whistles as he walks, stopping to give Sparte a smile. "I had heard of this expedition but don't know anything about it, so I'm curious. Assuming no one beats him to it, he moves to begin with the survey, thumbing through the pages.

Felicia happens to have a few spare moments, it seems, strolling her way into the Society with an acknowledging kind of nod. At Sparte's words, she heads over to the papers to have herself a read, listening silently for the moment.

Alarissa's made her way in, a sponsor of the expedition, though she takes a seat more toward the back of the gathering as opposed to near the front.

Sparte moves out from behind the bolster once that announcement was done, walking around the table to join the crowd. Seems to have been the only reason it was brought out, with the rest of the small event being meant for casual mingling. Sparte hooks one thumb on his belt, looking over the books and the people taking a look at it passively. It is just an information sharing session, after all.

Once done with the survey Caspian moves over to the expedition notes and reads that, and once done with that he heads over to the table to sit himself down, giving Sorrel and Cecilia a smile as he speaks lowly to them.

As one of the expedition members, Archeron steps into the room with his trusty companion at his side - well, rustling around on the floor next to him, anyway. He does take a look over one of the copies of the report, hrming and nodding "You are optimistic, Master Sparte, on re-establishment of Blackshore. I suspect we may have to wait for current events to pass before we can know if that will be the future set out for it."

Sparte nods agreeably to Archeron. "I'm optimistic about a lot of things. You're right that we'll have to wait of course, current events can't be ignoried.

Sparte nods agreeably to Archeron. "I'm optimistic about a lot of things. You're right that we'll have to wait of course, current events can't be ignored." He smiles faintly. "However, Lady Skye helped me write these. It will be her that has to see that optimism realized. I hope you'll give her your support when the time comes, her dream will not be an easy one." (Fixed)

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Sorrel before departing.

After a moment, Caspian turns in his seat towards Sparte, asking, "What is this about dragon's fire in the notes? Was the place attacked by a dragon? Or is that a name for some kind of weapon?"

Felicia gives the barest kind of nod to herself once she's finished reading, electing to step aside and ponder quietly,"The caustic gas it mentions. Was it just... lingering in the area? Was something manufacturing it somehow, or was it impossible to tell?" she elects to chime in after Caspian's question.

Leana, an Igniseri Guard arrives, following Luis.

"An actual dragon." Alarissa answers Caspian.

Luis enters in full leathers, quietly taking a wall space at the back to listen in silence.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Sorrel before departing.

"Well shit," is all Caspian can say to that when Alarissa answers him. "Whatever happened with the dragon?"

Sparte nods to Caspian first, indicating him with his free hand. "That is the term being used for the bright light and the resulting distruction at Blackshore. Other events historically that involved a bright light, or second sun, were said to be destruction wrought by dragonfire. It may just be creative use of language but we chose to be consistent. We attempted to give a more exact description of the damage as well in the survey. It it is the work of an actual dragon, we havn't exactly had one step forward and take credit." He then indicates Felicia. "We couldn't get close enough to say for certain without risking expedition member safety. The fact it was still lingering so long after the incident suggests it has a source."

"Tyde supports its friends, Master Sparte. We have acted as a refuge for those who have fled the horrors of the Darkwater before, and those needing to escape the madness of Kennex. We know the value of kindness, so do not worry. If we are asked, we will do what we can. The choice is Lady Skye's - I will not force her hand and create any sense of debt on her behalf. That isn't my place." Archeron reaches down to pet the rather large badger that is with him "I think Blackshore has claimed enough lives lately. We might wish to ask the healers of Lagoma if they have a way of warding against the ill effects of such a miasma if we return."

Felicia gives an acknowledging kind of nod, subsiding to silence again for the moment.

Cecilia listens to the back-and-forth questions in silence, leaning forward a bit at the mention of dragons but otherwise rather inscrutable. Archer's comments draw a rather pointed arched eyebrow, but her words are directed to Sparte, not Lord Tyde. "What are the effects of this gas? Could you tell how quickly it affected a person or an animal?"

"She garners writs, economic. If you've a moment or two to reach out and inquire about her projects, I am sure she would be grateful for any and all aid." Alarissa offers to Archeron.

Isla, a small silver fox, Claudio, the chivalrous knight, 1 Velenosa House Guards arrive, following Cadenza.

Sparte indicates Cecilia. "It did not impact life on the majority of the island, so we can safely say that the area outside of the destruction is uneffected in any meaningful way. The gas was clearly caustic in nature, causing pain and visible injury just by proximity. We didn't try our luck seeing what it would do if we got closer or had more exposure. I encourage against taking such risks."

Cecilia nods once and settles back in her chair to listen to the continued questions.

Cadenza slipped into the Hall, running late from another meeting. The give of her leathers could be heard but she would quickly moved to find a seat.

A Wild Cadenza Appears! Caspian offers the leather clad woman a smile given her way, beckoning her over.

"I will see what we can do, your grace. Just because negotiations with her and Margot do not continue does not mean friendship is not still there." Archeron inclines his head in a small bow to Alarissa. The look from Cecilia doesn't get a direct response at first, Archeron brushing at his clothing "It was not an insult, m'Lady. Houses make their own choices, and follow their own traditions, and bear the consequences. I am not nearly clever enough to be subtle in my insults. Nor do I tend to make them. I prefer to observe." Archeron looks again to the report and hrms "Did it surprise you how....quiet the place was, Master Sparte? For no-one of the hold to have survived, no-one was out with the animals or anything."

Cadenza has joined the Table 1.

A few quick side steps and Emily is not long after Cadenza in her entrance. The Deepwood lady keeps to herself, finding a place at the rear of the group to listen and hopefully catch up on what she has missed. A furtive glance is offered the assembled in an effort to gauge what faces she recognizes.

Making her way over, she would just sit down quickly. Cadenza gave a smile to those at the sitting area but turned her attention to those speaking. She was content on listening for now.

Sparte looks at Archeron with an uncertain expression. "Honestly? Not until you just asked me." He shudders a moment before turning to force a smile for the new arrivals. "For those coming in late, this is just to share the compiled results of the expedition. Feel free to review the texts on the table and ask any questions you have."

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Luis before departing.

Philomel, the Nightingale, Micana, the efficient amanuensis, Golden, a juvenile Oakhaven bloodhound arrive, following Lucita.

Lucita quietly steps into the area, glancing around and lingering near the entry.

Luis waves Lucita over, still keeping one of the walls supported so that it wont fall down. Structural Luis is supporting.

Luis belatedly also waves Emily over since he only now just sees her, stealthy Deepwood is stealthy.

Lucita moves over toward Luis lowering her voice to speak to him so she does not disturb the others.

Glancing about, Emily returns Sparte's smile with a wan one of her own and nods, moving forward as the paper about the Blackshore is noted. Catching the motion from Luis she dips her head and holds up a finger as she begins to peruse the information.

Sparte continues to stand about with those gathered, falling quiet and passive as he waits for people to review the books and possibly present more questions. He shifts one hand to momentarily scratch at a spot on his lower back.

Felicia gives Sparte a nod of acknowledgment and a tight kind of smile, but evidently from the way the redheaded knight slips off other duties are calling for now.

Shard eventually makes her way forward to look at the books themselves, though she's quiet; apparently she has no questions herself.

Sparte speaks up after a while. "Well, if there are no more questions... Thank you, everyone, for your support and interest."

Stepping back from the book, Emily shakes her head in regards to questions. "Thank you," she intones and glances aside to the Igniseri that are conversing. Affording them both a smile she begins to stride in their directions.

5 Thrax Guards, Olenna, Pellinor, Duchess, a graceful greyhound, Chessa leave, following Alarissa.
