As people ran the Gauntlet today, there were some who came away injured, and some who breezed through it easily. It's not uncommon to see that spectrum of ability. But it lifts my spirits each time, to see those who struggle, try anyway. It shows their spirit and their mettle, and that they are not afraid to do something that isn't within their current strength. That is something we should all strive to do, to broaden our horizons.
Plus, if the Gauntlet ever appears to be too easy, the sadists who designed it (looking at you, Ansel!) will only make it harder.

My thoughts are heavy, restless things.
While I can't speak to all the wills in the whites recently, Calaudrin Estardes, he who is my husband, updated his because he sailed out with many others on the grand ship Carlotta, to parts unknown and strange. I wish I could've gone with him, but duty holds me to this city right now. I pray that Gloria grants courage to him and his companions, so that they may protect each other and come home soon. He goes with a knighthood, a title I’ve always carried mixed feelings on the politics of (including about my own), but he's as honorable and deserving a man as can wear it. Maybe it will strengthen his heart on this journey.
My House faces many dangers of which I must be watchful as Sword and knight. Riven has ever been both my blood and heart, for it is what remains of the Greenwoods. I'll love it always, but I confess the heaviness now, as other parts of my life begin to change and shift. We shall see what is to come. I’ll stay the course for now and serve as I must, and pray to Gloria and Limerance for guidance on what the road ahead may look like.
It is in the Templars I find pure solace and joy more and more of late, I'll confess. Sir Preston has honored me with the title of Champion of Gloria, and appointed me a disciple leader. It is also an important duty, but in a way that lifts my heart and makes me feel stronger and more fully myself. I hope I can uphold it in a way that furthers the Sword of the Faith in this time of rebuilding. The work makes me think on many things in my life, on roads not taken. They are not regrets, for I’d have no life but my own, but reminders that I am not rooted to the ground like a tree. My blood is of the rivers, flowing along a course to different places. But Gloria has always been a compass in it, a guide when I am lost, and She remains so to me now. I’ll see to finding new ways to give that compass to others, so well as I can.

I understand there may be some confusion and perhaps a modicum of concern when one notices the House of Solace's new duck companion wandering about.
I assure the populace that I have personally vetted this creature and it is fully hygienically sensible for a place of healing. You need not fear anything save for perhaps the tips of your fingers. I have not yet found what his favored diet entails and he is prone to nibble when upset. Until then, please ensure you give Jimbo I the space they need to sort out their emotional trauma.

I would like to thank everyone who turned out for the clothing swap and donation event! It was an incredible success and the proceeds have been split between the Heart in Hand organization and Solace in support of the Tragedy. The clothing that was leftover was placed in the donation bin in the Soup Kitchen of the Lowers along with a basket full of goodies for infants and new mothers. I would like to thank everyone in Arx that turned out or sent donations and especially Princess Tikva, Princess Alarissa, Princess Sorrel, Duchess Clover, Captain Igniseri, Dame Felicia, Lady Zoey, Lady Rosalind, and Mistress Genevieve!
I would also like to note that Master Bastien is a very good friend of mine and a wonderful playwright and I am quite happy with those circumstances just in case anyone needed the clarification!
And again, thank you everyone for your generosity. I am genuinely touched that the citizens of Arx are so willing to come together for each other!

Introducing business plans to people is always a hassle. First you've got to make the proposal, then you have to fight the often valid concerns they have on the initiative. Often you'll get no, but it's the yes that matters.
