Obituary: Found strangled in his cabin on a ship bound for Grihem's Point, as he was visiting to conduct some business in the Mourning Isles.

Description: Short black hair with deep brown eyes, along with a sharp but pleasing face, Itzal attracts the eye, especially with his agile and tall build. He is the picture of the tall, darkly handsome stranger, the bad boy there to seduce with his hints of danger hiding a no doubt complex soul... Or so one would imagine, until Itzal proceeds to systematically and ruthlessly shatter expectations, with no small amount of malicious glee.

Personality: A certain carelessness where rules are concerned tend to be a given where the Cullers are concerned, yet Itzal's irreverence takes new and sometimes confusing heights. At ease wherever he goes, he shows little concern for the respect of social norms, choosing and picking those that please him, and more often than not laying traps for the unwary. A most well-spoken man, reciting the finest poetry, till one investigate the finley woven speech to uncover the hidden slights and insults. Still, he is more than aware of the line he must walk, and his charm and quick wit have saved him as often as gotten him in trouble.

Background: Being the eighth of eigth children is something of an achivement. It signals the end of an age, the definite decision of a mother that she is quite done with bearing children into the world. And the distinct impression of being unwanted, of being that one extra bite of the cake soon made to regret by an uppity stomach. Itzal's childhood was not one surrounded by motherly warmth, but rather by the rough upbringing expected from older siblings, various uncles and aunts, and the harsh words of a resentful progenitor.

Itzal wasn't alone in this situation, however. While having been born so shortly after the seventh was most likely one of the reasons why his mother chose to never have children again (and keep that oath till death came for her), it also gave him a sibling of his age to share much of his experiences with. That sibling was Mae, his older sister, and she proved a lifeline of sanity, madness, peace and trouble that he could never have done without. It should come as no surprise then that he developped a similar way to avoid trouble, and tasks. Indeed, he swiftly became known to vanish as soon as work needed to be done, and prove so difficult to find that doing it themselves was usually less work for his family than to find the youngest Culler.

While his skill at hiding would eventually force him to perform particular jobs, it also granted him more free time than most. That free time, he would spend listening to the various musicians of the city, listening to reciting poets or sneaking into the theater to witness the latest plays. It changed him, those outings of his, and soon he was making his own music and writing his own poetry... with various results. It's not that he was bad at it, though he had much to learn. It's that he found entirely too much amusement mocking his audience as impressing it, making fools of nobles that might have proven wealthy patrons with his wit and sharp sense of humour. The life of a courtier held no interest for him, yet if not that, what?

The answer came when he was seventeen. One day, he was simply... gone. No word, no warning, just gone. Off to travel the world, it was assumed, when he didn't return for days, and then weeks. Gone, or dead. It hardly mattered for anyone but those closest to him. Time passed, till five years had come and gone. The King had fallen to his restless sleep, woken up again, Arx had suffered an invasion and siege and now prepared for another battle, High Lords and Ladies had come and gone, and Itzal returned as if nothing had happened. Giving various tales, each grander and more impossible than the last, he never gave a straight answer as to where he had gone, or why he had left. Yet he has returned, and now seems happy to have returned to the Lowers of his youth... and resume his various other activities.

Name Summary
Aiden He speaks directly, which makes sense considering. He was open to helping answer some questions I had and seems a pleasant fellow. I hope to see him perform one of these days.
Aleksei I think he's Mae's brother! I think.
Arianna Bard's are my kind of artist. They're wordsmiths through and through and each of them has such a firm grasp on the art of conversation that it's always delightful when you get to enjoy their company. Every one of them is a unique soul, special in a way. This man was all of that and something more. Something intriguing. Perhaps being able to captivate someone so easily /is/ what makes him special. Either way, I'm interested in this one.
Armani A bard. Got to keep him in mind. Parting with songs and stories is most fun.
Avary I felt like a hurricane arrived in my previously pristine shrine, shook everything up, and then dropped it on the floor like a child with a small toy box. I will be honest when I say that I didn't dislike it, but one has to wonder if it's always like that when he's around.
Eleanor Mae's brother! Like, her actual brother! He seems nice, even if Mae is clearly punishing him for something.
Ignacio He seems to be an entertaining bard. I would be interesting to see him perform in public in the future.
Iseulet I expected a surprise! And got.. a surprise! He was normal, pleasant, and even charming. Not at all as he projects himself in the whites. Which was the biggest surprise of it all... Is that normal? I don't know, but I like him and look forward to working with him.
Jeffeth Culler! A friend of my youth and now a musician of some renown. He seems to be doing well back in Arx and I am very happy for him. He's a good boy.
Lianne Heavy-handed in debate. Blunt like a hammer. Sharper with his observations and jabs. We dance to different songs.
Lucita A talented bard with wit and a facility of skill in writing sagas that I envy. He has a strong singing voice and plays to accompany himself. I hope we can work together some to make some memorial music.
Margerie A very energetic mind mingled with artistry. Chatted with him at the Temple of the First Choice about art and politics. A different side of the Culler family.
Marian Mae's little brother. He's well-spoken, diplomatic and apparently talented. Singing, dancing and acting. He seems to be well-equipped to be in the theater. I enjoyed Beseiged so I can't wait to see what that troupe comes up with next.
Morrighan Poetic Culler with a penchant for rhymes met within Lagoma's Shrine. Think he took a liking to my bird, the ever smug Brahm.
Norwood I'm not sure he gives very good advice to orphans. Or perhaps it's the best advice.
Reese A wonderful musician and Mae's little brother! He comes from strong and talented blood. I am honored to have met him.
Sabella The best, most wonderful and welcoming lute player I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! If this is the sort of talent the Black Rose has, I will definitely be making frequent trips to the theater.
Sabella Master Itzal is a bard, He's not as scary as Shard, He can be quite a card, He'll catch you off your guard, And write you a way better poem than this one please don't tell him who wrote this.
Saoirse Itzal was in the bar when Saoirse delivered some of her welcome gifts of wine. He sang a particularly apt song about new beginnings in new cities; she suspects the bard is quite bright, if not also empathetic.
Selene An fabulous and dangerously handsome bard with a background in in the theater. That alone should really suffice to make him a very welcome presence at the House, even if he's sadly engaged elsewhere. And he ran off so abruptly! Hopefully we can lure him back with inventive wardrobe and suggestive statuary.
Skye He's a very talented musician. I know I couldn't give very much but I hope he appreciates the patronage. I do hope to hear him play again when it's not so crowded.
Sparte First time I met him, he was up on a table singing in the Salon. He was only a little bit drunk, too! I wish I met more people up on tables singing that wern't all the way drunk. But noooo, they're always public nuisance this and 'Arrest him officer!' that. What were we talking about?
Stefano A bard. I don't think I've met one before. He seems rather even-keeled, which I can appreciate.
Talen A bard, a minstrel, a musikamn. Either way, he charges far, far too much. Jesus. Half a barony?!
Thena The man up and vanished for several years but he's just the same as always. It's good to have him back. I forget sometimes what things were like before I left the city. With that mouth on him I will definitely be giving him lessons on dodging things though.
Tikva I first met this cheeky young bard when we both performed for an event. He is quick, witty, and sharp, and I could not be more pleased to have claimed him as a protege. I hope to grow his career as both a fine musician and bright wordsmith.
Valery He seems nice. He visited the garden asking for lessons. But he played a song in exchange and it was such an amazing song!!
Vanora I met him in the Hall of Heroes when talking to Brother Driskell. He's amusing.
Yasmine It's nice to meet a man so good with his hands. Makes me wish I'll be reborn as a lute in my next life.
