Description: Longish dark hair is often touseled, falling a bit in front of eyes the color of rich loam and bark after a rain. They sparkle a bit when he smiles, taking away some of the somberness that seems to follow him more often than not. He appears to be in his early to mid twenties, well built and athletic, with the musculature of one who has seen the use of both sword and bow. Standing a little under six feet in height, he dresses in the manner that befits a huntsman, in colors of earth and vegetation more often than not, favoring function over form.

Personality: Lorien is most at home in nature and working with animals, accustomed to long stretches of quiet and solitary living. That isn't to say that he doesn't enjoy the company of others. He enjoys an easy camaraderie with those who care to take the time to talk to and get to know him. He can tend toward quiet and introspection, but has no trouble speaking his mind if he feels that he has something that needs saying.

Background: Lorien Keaton was the sort of child who could not be contained. He was a wanderer, an explorer, and always felt more at home with the hounds and riding than he did indoors. He was a bright child, and quick to learn anything that held his interest; however, he longed for the earth beneath his feet and the sky above.

As he grew older, he spent more and more time training with the hunting hounds, learning to track and fight with both the sword and the bow. He rode with the huntsmen and showed a true talent and penchant for it. There were times when he was chided and directed to more military or political pursuits. While Lorien was not shy to fight if fighting was called for, he preferred to do so from the concealment of his natural surroundings.

He is almost always accompanied by one of his hunting dogs. Preferring to help rear them himself from the time that they are pups, he has a particular bond with those that accompany him wherever he goes. It is that connection to home that helps while he has been sent to Arx, in light of all the fighting that has been going on, and the desire for the new Count to establish the family within Arx.

  • Name Summary
Aella A bit on the quiet side, rises and trains dogs. Never really had a dog, they don't do so well on ships. Cats though, great for keeping it rat free. He was pleasant company, would not sharing a drink with him again.
Cristoph I met Lorien official at a dinner party at the manse. I enjoyed his company and was a little sad he didn't knock me into a tank of water.
Gaston Seems to possibly be something of a lady's man from his cousins inferments. Not nearly as taciturn as Count Keaton, and certainly seems eager about the upcoming hunts and his hounds. There's a quiet, unassuming confidence about him I find I like.
Shae He is the closest thing I have to a brother, and a bit of a ladies man. Look out ladies, he just might put an arrow through your heart when you are not looking!
Tarik Hounds! This Lord has hounds. If I had some hounds or better yet some pet wolves you would never seem me without him. He is not arrogant, or brash. It is like he is forming his own path in the city, and he seems devoted to his family welfare and their needs. Perhaps, I am reading too much into our conversation, on maybe it was the Whitehold ale. I still would not mind sharing another drink with this man, or go hunting with him.
Tarrant A most capable woodsman, and a noble gentleman, besides.
Valery He seems nice, even if the first encounter with Valery almost ends with the apothecary covered in ale. He works with animals and he trains hounds. And he doesn't mind the mice.
